Late at night, Arthur gave Guo Xiaoxiao some meat. Lately, he'd been tinkering with something in the warehouse, and Guo Xiaoxiao increasingly believed that Arthur wasn't an ordinary orc. He was very intelligent, knew a great deal, and collected various herbs and tools.
They use weapons for everything from eating and drinking to hunting; in other words, they live a very refined life, unlike those rough men.
"I won't be back tonight. I'll have orcs guarding the door for you. Go to sleep by yourself. If you need to relieve yourself, you can ask the orcs outside to accompany you."
Arthur stuffed the remaining fruit into her hands, gave her some instructions, and left. For Guo Xiaoxiao, Arthur's absence was somewhat relieved; every time they slept together, he would get handsy, touching her every inch of her body, and he especially enjoyed seeing her shy and nervous.
Unlike usual, when sparse footsteps could be heard outside the stone house, it was unusually quiet tonight. But that wasn't the point. The point was to persuade Cang Jue and Mikeson not to come to rescue her.
Anyone with eyes could see it was a den of thieves; to rush in like that was suicidal. Guo Xiaoxiao was grateful they had the heart to save her, but she didn't want anyone to get hurt because of her.
She tried communicating with the other party two or three times using her skills, but they refused. No one responded when she spoke; they were clearly deliberately ignoring her, determined to remain silent.
She was extremely worried. Arthur wasn't coming back; could he have gone to capture them?
I was just happy that Arthur wasn't home and could get a good night's sleep, but now I'm worried.
Guo Xiaoxiao's heart was in her throat, wondering what Arthur was up to. She couldn't relax for a long time. She would feel more at ease if Arthur stayed in front of her, which would mean that Mikeson and Cang Jue hadn't been captured.
Why did he find out that he went out so late at night instead of sleeping?
…
Meanwhile, Cang Jue and Miksen sneaked into Blacktooth again, taking advantage of the moonlight to quietly infiltrate the tribe.
"Shh-"
"I'll go scout ahead first."
The two quietly entered the densely packed stone houses via a side path. One walked ahead, while the other stayed behind to observe for any patrolling orcs, ensuring everything was safe before proceeding.
They quickly realized something was wrong. The Blacktooth tribe only had a few orcs patrolling, yet they could enter with complete freedom. Was it really that easy?
But I couldn't worry about that now. I'd already come all this way, so it wouldn't be a waste to come empty-handed. I'd gone to so much trouble to get in.
Cang Jue and Mikesen exchanged a glance and quickly ran deeper into the tribe.
They circled around for a long time before finally spotting the patrolling orcs outside a huge stone house, where Guo Xiaoxiao's presence grew ever closer.
They were convinced that Guo Xiaoxiao was definitely inside the stone house. The two of them put down their hands and entered the stone house, where they saw only dim light under the moonlight.
Guo Xiaoxiao lay on the bed wearing loose animal skin. Cang Jue approached and examined her closely. Thank goodness, she wasn't injured, and there were no animal marks on her hands. It seemed she had simply been kept in captivity. Arthur was truly patient in order to obtain the healing water.
"We've come to rescue you."
Cang Jue grinned and approached the bedside, while Miksen stood in the doorway, warily looking around.
How did you know I was here?
Guo Xiaoxiao sat up straight, her face filled with shock, and asked, "Are your eyes playing tricks on you? They really got in, so smoothly? Mickson and Cang Jue are completely unharmed, that's wonderful!"
Seeing Guo Xiaoxiao's expression, Cang Jue smiled and gently pinched the bridge of her nose.
"We encountered some patrolling orcs on our way here, but we knocked them unconscious and got in smoothly."
"That can't be right. Arthur had a lot of orcs patrolling the tribe, at least 50 or so. You knocked them out and no one noticed?"
Guo Xiaoxiao felt like her brain wasn't working properly. How did they manage to avoid the patrolling orcs? It was too easy! They broke through layers of guards and found her directly. Arthur said he had arranged for an orc to guard his door, but where was he? Was he gone too?
Cang Jue said, "Finding you is easy, but getting you out of here won't be. If I'm not mistaken, Arthur is deliberately trying to capture us all. Xiaoxiao, I'll fly you away. Mickson, help us buy some time."
Guo Xiaoxiao shook her head, unwilling; it was too dangerous for Migsen to stay here alone.
"No, what will happen to Mickson if we leave? He can't possibly escape. I think you should leave first, before Arthur arrives, and run away quickly."
Cang Jue's smile vanished, replaced by a resolute expression.
“Neither Mickson nor I are important; you are the most important. If I couldn’t fly, I would have let Mickson take you away, but I have wings. I’m not afraid of pursuers. Once we get back and gather our people, we’ll launch a surprise attack.”
Cang Jue and Miksen could hold their own against over 50 orcs, though it was difficult. However, taking Guo Xiaoxiao away was not guaranteed, so she had to be sent away.
Guo Xiaoxiao said, "I can't leave him behind."
Cang Jue said, "Xiao Xiao, I don't want you to take any risks."
"Stop arguing. If we delay any longer, none of us will be able to leave. Let's go!"
Mickson rushed into the room, urging him on. Cang Jue gritted his teeth, hugged Guo Xiaoxiao, and Guo Xiaoxiao struggled fiercely, managing to break free from Cang Jue's embrace.
What's the point of leaving? She just left, and then Arthur came running to steal her and the formula. It makes no difference whether she left or not.
She said
"Calm down, think about this. If I go out with you now and let the orcs come and fight, can we win? Our tribe is already suffering heavy casualties; we can't let others suffer because of me."
Miksen understood Guo Xiaoxiao's meaning, but he simply couldn't tolerate it any longer. He said, "Let's stall for as long as we can. If it really doesn't work, have Cang Jue take you somewhere far away. Xiaoxiao, you're so beautiful, you'll meet even stronger orcs..."
"What nonsense are you talking about? My only partners are you and Cang Jue. I don't want either of them."
