Chapter 23: Big Sister's Brain Burns Out

Chi Zijun was stunned and stared at Chi Lanlan blankly, wondering if his elder sister's brain was burnt out.

How old is he? How can he get married?

"Sister, are you out of your mind?"

Chi Lanlan smiled slightly: "It's not broken."

"Then don't you know how old I am now?"

Chi Lanlan asked back: "Then do you know how old you are now?"

Chi Zijun counted on his fingers and said, "I'm eight years old."

Chi Lanlan nodded and asked, "Then how old do you plan to get married?"

Chi Zijun thought about it and said, "At least he should be over 20 years old."

Chi Lanlan remained calm and even nodded, saying, "Very good. This means that the earliest date for your marriage will be twelve years."

Chi Zijun paused.

There are still so many years to go!

Chi Lanlan looked at the worn-out bicycle at home and asked, "Do you know how old this bicycle is?"

Chi Zijun shook his head.

Chi Lanlan said, "This bicycle is less than five years old, and it's already broken like this. Do you think you'll be able to afford to marry after twelve years of keeping my things? By then, which girl would want your rags?"

Chi Zijun covered his face as if he had been hit, and was unable to speak.

Yes, it takes too long to give him a betrothal gift.

He pursed his lips, feeling a little reluctant.

But, think about it, it makes sense.

By then, people might even dislike his things.

Chi Lanlan added, "Besides, you know, everything will be updated in the future. When you get married, your spouse might not want a bicycle anymore, but a car that can run on its own."

"Sister, then I don't want it." Chi Zijun said, scratching his head.

Chi Lanlan nodded: "Don't try to possess other people's things when you see them in the future. You have to think about it. Even if you put in a lot of effort, it may not be suitable for you. Do you understand?"

Chi Zijun thought about it, looked at Chi Lanlan again, and finally nodded: "Okay, I understand."

Chi Lanlan touched Chi Zijun's head and said, "Yeah."

The little guy looked obviously embarrassed.

Chi Lanlan didn't care about him anymore.

On this side, Chi Xiaoai didn't dare to confront her elder sister. When she saw Chi Lanlan coming back and subduing Chi Zijun, she immediately said to Lin Guihua: "Mom, I'm leaving first. I'll come to help tomorrow."

Chi Lanlan looked at Chi Xiaoai's fleeing back thoughtfully.

Lin Guihua also frowned.

Chi Lanlan asked, "Mom, what happened to Xiao Ai?"

Lin Guihua: "She wanted to come home and help."

Chi Lanlan: “…”

Chi Xiaoai would not come to my house to help for no reason.

So what does she want to do?

But she is going to Zhou Jingyun's house now.

Thinking of Zhou Jingyun's grandmother, she frowned again. She looked like a very powerful woman.

Forget it, no matter what, we have to meet each other.

She didn't tell Lin Guihua that Chi Xiaoai couldn't come. She went to the kitchen to take out the things she had prepared. As soon as she walked to the door, she saw the tall man who had just arrived.

She asked, "Why are you here?"

Zhou Jingyun looked at him and said simply: "I'll pick you up."

Chi Lanlan was surprised that Zhou Jingyun had such a heart.

With Zhou Jingyun coming over, Chi Lanlan did feel a little more relaxed.

Zhou Jingyun looked at the basket in her hand and asked, "Did you take this?"

Chi Lanlan nodded.

Zhou Jingyun didn't bother to be polite with her and extended his hand: "Let me take it."

Chi Lanlan followed Zhou Jingyun all the way to his residence.

Before people get close, they can smell the strong aroma of herbs.

Chi Lanlan was surprised: "Drying herbs?"

Zhou Jingyun nodded: "My grandma likes it."

Chi Lanlan didn't say anything. Her only understanding of Zhou Jingyun was that they came from Kyoto and seemed to have unusual identities.

But she didn't know what exactly was unusual about it.

Zhou Zhiyan stood at the door and saw Zhou Jingyun and Chi Lanlan coming together, with a gleam in his little eyes.

He suddenly rushed towards Chi Lanlan, but when he was about to get close, he sprinkled a handful of medicine powder at Chi Lanlan.

Zhou Jingyun's expression suddenly changed, and he scolded: "Zhou Zhiyan, what are you doing?"

Chi Lanlan has noticed that her exposed skin is itchy.

She frowned and raised her hand, only to realize that she had scratched it unconsciously until it turned red, and it was getting more and more itchy. She wanted to scratch it again.

Zhou Jingyun held her hand: "Don't move yet."

Zhou Zhiyan had already run to Song Lingshu's side.

Zhou Jingyun said, "There are cockleburs in it."

Chi Lanlan frowned.

Zhou Jingyun brought her some ointment, applied some on his fingers, held her slender hand with one hand, and gently stroked Chi Lanlan's delicate skin with the fingers of the other hand.

The gentle touch was like a series of slight electric currents, and Chi Lanlan's breathing became lighter.

After applying the ointment, Zhou Jingyun took a look and found that the redness had dissipated a lot.

Then he said, "It's okay."

Chi Lanlan asked, "Do you specialize in making medicinal powder?"

Zhou Jingyun shook his head: "No, wait for me."

He wants to catch Zhou Zhiyan.

Zhou Zhiyan yelled: "Dad, you can't hit me, I just want revenge."

Zhou Jingyun's eyes were sharp: "I've already told you that there was a misunderstanding. It wasn't Chi Zijun who hurt you."

"I don't believe it, it's Chi Zijun. Everyone says that you don't care about my life or death anymore in order to get married." He pouted in grievance. The more he thought about it, the more miserable he felt, and tears were about to flow.
