Chapter 230 Naming Lotus Village
Dark clouds obscured the sun, and the sky darkened.
The sun shone brightly in the morning, but by the afternoon, dark clouds covered the sky, as if the entire sky was about to press down.
Wan Qiqi stood shivering in the wind.
She put her arm around the man who was repairing the roof and called out, "It's getting windy, be careful!"
Wu Gousheng's voice echoed in the wind: "Good!"
Wan Qiqi looked up at the sky, feeling the biting cold wind, and thought it must be snowing soon!
It's already mid-December, and if it doesn't snow soon, the winter will be over.
Whether it was because she wasn't dressed warmly enough or because Lotus Village was genuinely cold, she felt colder than ever before.
Compared to the people on the roof, she was actually much better off.
Climbing onto the roof without any safety measures made Wan Qiqi more worried, and she was unwilling to go into the main room to rest.
Just as she was spinning around in circles from the cold, a small head peeked out from outside the yard.
Wan Qiqi and he made eye contact, and both of them were stunned for a moment.
The child quickly pulled his head back and turned to leave.
Wan Qiqi caught up with the child in a few steps, grabbed the child's collar, and even though the child struggled in her hand, she didn't let go.
"Whose child are you?"
The child looked at Wan Qiqi with wary eyes.
Wan Qiqi felt that the child looked somewhat familiar, as if he were someone she often saw.
Before she could think it through, the child stretched out his head and bit Wan Qiqi's hand, causing her to immediately let go.
"Ah—why did you bite me!" Wan Qiqi withdrew her bitten hand, her eyes reddening and misty.
The child continued to stare at her warily, as if realizing he shouldn't have bitten her. He stopped running away, but didn't dare to get any closer.
Wu Gousheng went down to get some straw, and upon hearing Wan Qiqi's shout, he immediately rushed out of the yard.
"Sis, what's wrong?"
He and the child locked eyes, and their expressions changed simultaneously.
The child's wariness turned to terror, and he turned and ran away.
Wu Gousheng was much stronger than Wan Qiqi. He grabbed the child by the collar and lifted him up like a puppy, watching him struggle in his hands.
Wan Qiqi gently blew on her bitten hand, her eyes red as she looked at the two of them.
The two faces seemed to overlap before my eyes.
She finally understood who the child resembled!
Whether it's the eyebrows, eyes, or lips, they are almost identical; it's practically a miniature replica of Wu Gousheng!
Wan Qiqi naturally wouldn't make wild guesses; this must be Wu Gousheng's rumored younger brother—Wu Choudan.
She was always quite upset about why the village liked to give her this kind of name.
Does having a humble name make a child easier to raise?
Modern names may vary, but aren't they all the same in terms of being raised?
A name is the first impression you get of someone, and the names in the village were really not flattering to her.
"You stinky egg, who let you come to the Chen family's place?" Wu Gousheng didn't let go, pinning the man against the mud wall, revealing a hint of threat.
He suspected that his parents, seeing that he hadn't spoken up, had sent his younger brother over to win Wan Qiqi's favor and fulfill their wishes.
Wu Choudan pouted, and tears immediately welled up in his eyes.
He burst into tears.
Wu Gousheng remained unmoved, coldly looking at Wu Choudan, "Go ahead and cry, but don't disturb the people who are resting, or you'll regret it!"
Wu Choudan's crying stopped abruptly. He choked back two sobs and called out in a hoarse voice, "Brother~"
After calling him "brother," Wu Gousheng released his grip, turned his face away, and refused to look at the other person again. "Get lost, or I'll beat you up!"
Wan Qiqi had also heard Wu Gousheng talk about his family, and knew that his family relationship was not good because his parents were only thinking about his younger brother and ignored his feelings.
This gave Wan Qiqi the feeling that their family had ruined their main account, so they were starting to create alt accounts.
But she believes that large sizes are not actually useless, they just lack guidance.
Logically speaking, parents are the best teachers for their children.
Clearly, parents in ancient times didn't have much time or energy to teach their children, so they chose to let them grow up freely.
Wan Qiqi originally thought that Wu Gousheng disliked his younger brother, but based on his behavior just now, she felt that Wu Gousheng actually did not dislike his younger brother.
She squatted down, reached out and patted the dust off Wu Choudan's clothes, and said to Wu Gousheng, "Alright, let's ask him what he came here for."
Although Wu Gousheng was very unwilling, he still threatened, "Speak up, and then get out of here!"
Wu Choudan was also clever. He shrank to Wan Qiqi's side, timidly glanced at Wu Gousheng, and then shrank further behind Wan Qiqi.
He said weakly, "I'm scared."
Wu Gousheng noticed his younger brother was acting strangely today and frowned, asking, "What are you afraid of?"
Wu Choudan looked around to make sure no one was watching before recounting what he had seen about Sun Daxiong and Lin Xiaohua.
Wu Gousheng was stunned after hearing this!
He never expected that his younger brother would witness the two people in the village having an affair.
Wan Qiqi knew that Lin Xiaohua was not as simple as she seemed.
Although she hadn't seen Lin Xiaohua since returning, based on her impressions from the few times she met her, she didn't think she was a very good person.
During the plague, she refused to take care of her father and tried every means to learn how to make honey grapefruit jam.
First, she came to the Chen family to express her feelings to Chen Yongliang, wanting to marry into the Chen family; then it was Chen Sanyuan; and now it's Sun Daxiong...
So there were fish farms for sea kings in ancient times too!
Although Wan Qiqi didn't want to get involved in the village head's affairs, she also didn't want Chen Sanyuan to fall into the trap.
Moreover, Chen Lizheng asked her today if there was any way to resolve this.
Chen Lizheng was helping her solve the problem of villagers sending her things every few days, so she should naturally lend a hand in this matter as well.
Wan Qiqi smiled and patted Wu Choudan on the shoulder, "You can tell people about this appropriately. Your brother will protect you."
