Chapter 399 The Chen Brothers Argue
The sky was dark and the lights were dim.
After the first month of the lunar calendar, people no longer wish to keep their lamps lit, but instead turn them off early and go to bed to prepare for the next day.
The lights were on in Wan Qiqi's living room, and four children sat together, their faces beaming with bright smiles.
Lights were still burning under the eaves outside the door, illuminating the small courtyard with a soft glow.
Several men sat around a stone table in the courtyard; one was speaking, and the other three were listening.
Of the three people listening, two had their brows furrowed, as if they had encountered some difficulty.
Only that one person sat upright, his expression calm, unaffected by the emotions in his words.
His eyes were deep and his features were slightly defined. His short robe did not look cumbersome; instead, it showed off his strong physique perfectly.
Next to the waistband, there was also an official ivory plaque.
"Brother-in-law, I've noticed that Sister Qi has been looking worried these past few days. What should we do?" Wu Gousheng sighed, his heart filled with longing for the Wan Qiqi of the past.
The more lively and energetic it was before, the quieter it is now.
“It’s alright, I’ll talk to her when she comes back,” Chen Yongnian replied earnestly, though his expression was unreadable.
"Brother Yongnian, Tang Qiwen came to the restaurant today, but Brother Yongliang wouldn't let him in. As a result, Brother Yongliang got a scolding from Sister Qi. When we left, he was still sitting by the well..."
Erpang stopped talking, wanting to see Chen Yongnian's reaction.
Chen Yongnian frowned slightly and asked in a deep voice, "Did Tang Qiwen go to the restaurant today for anything?"
"No, just eating and drinking. That young master Feng is here too!" Tie Niu chimed in, unable to resist praising, "Tang Qiwen's drinking capacity is truly impressive. He drank everyone else under the table, but he's still unharmed!"
Chen Yongnian didn't know whether Tang Qiwen was a good drinker or not, but he knew there was definitely something fishy going on.
There are quite a few restaurants in Hefeng Town, so why did Tang Qiwen choose Xinglong Restaurant, which he had a grudge against?
They brought Feng Gan along and got him drunk, perhaps hoping to extract something from him.
Chen Yongnian lowered his eyes in thought, then looked up past Wu Gousheng at the doorway, his expression slightly worried.
Just then, the courtyard gate opened.
Chen Yongliang, an outsider, paused for a moment when he saw the person sitting in the courtyard, and called out in a low voice, "Big Brother."
He seemed a little downcast, turned around, closed the door, and went straight to the living room.
"Stop!" Chen Yongnian suddenly spoke up. He stood up and said to Wu Gousheng, "I brought some snacks from Yunhe County and left them in your room. Gousheng, you take them to eat."
Wu Gousheng was taken aback.
He didn't expect Chen Yongnian to bring back snacks, especially for them.
Looking back at Chen Yongnian from the past, he felt that the current Chen Yongnian was becoming more and more like Wan Qiqi!
"Okay," Wu Gousheng replied, and led Erpang and Tie Niu inside.
Chen Yongliang stood frozen in place, his eyes lowered and he remained silent.
"Come and sit down, it's been a long time since we brothers caught up!" Chen Yongnian sat down, splashed away the cold tea, and poured two cups of hot tea. "If my second brother were here, the three of us brothers would be together."
Chen Yongliang pursed his lips, but ultimately listened to Chen Yongnian and sat down. "Brother, is there anything I can help you with? I'm a little tired today and want to rest early."
"Tired of sitting by the well?" Chen Yongnian didn't give him a chance to lie and exposed him directly.
Chen Yongliang suddenly paused, looked up at Chen Yongnian, and his eyes were filled with disbelief.
Is this the eldest brother?

"No," Chen Yongliang replied.

Even if he disagrees with what his sister-in-law said, what can he do?
Everything in the family now is the result of my sister-in-law's hard work. She can't be at fault; the fault lies with me.
Although Chen Yongliang tried to convince himself of this, a voice in his heart kept resisting his idea.
Finally, he couldn't help but raise his eyes and say, "Brother, Tang Qiwen must want to take revenge on us. Why should we let him into the restaurant and treat him to good food and drinks?"
Chen Yongnian stared coldly at Chen Yongliang without answering.
After a long pause, he finally spoke and asked, "Do you think what you did was right?"
Under Chen Yongnian's gaze, Chen Yongliang gradually lost his previous toughness.
He turned his face away and said in a low voice, "Anyway, I don't want him to go into the restaurant."
Chen Yongnian remained calm, took a sip of tea, and said, "If he wanted to make a move, why would he need to go to a restaurant? If he goes to a restaurant to cause trouble, who will be the one to suffer?"
Chen Yongliang looked up at Chen Yongnian, a hint of surprise in his eyes.
Upon seeing Tang Qiwen, he was filled with anger and seemed to have forgotten about these issues.
If the other party wanted to take action, why would they openly choose a restaurant?
Chen Yongnian's eyes were indifferent as he said coldly, "In a couple of days, you will come with me to Yunhe County to find a job. Gousheng will look after things here for the time being, that's fine."
"Big brother!" Chen Yongliang's eyes were filled with shock. Why did his older brother and sister-in-law both want him to leave?
“Brother, Tang Qiwen is in town right now. You want me to go to the county, leaving Gousheng alone with your sister-in-law? What if something happens to him?” Chen Yongliang strongly disagreed with this.
