Chapter 425 Feng Gan Causes Trouble
A few pointed buds sprouted from the bare branches of trees in the backyard of Xinglong Restaurant, swaying in the wind.
Tie Niu walked into the restaurant lobby carrying an empty food box. Just as he was about to take the next food box and leave, Liu Ji called him back.
"Tie Niu, wait a moment." Liu Ji chased after him a few steps, carrying a food box in his hand, and said, "Manager Wan instructed you to deliver this, and leave the rest to others."
When Tie Niu looked back, he saw that the food box in Liu Ji's hand was obviously bigger and heavier than the one in his hand.
He frowned slightly, seemingly somewhat reluctant.
However, after Manager Wan made the arrangement, he exchanged the items with Liu Ji and then asked, "Where is this being sent?"
“The Feng family in the east of the town,” Liu Ji replied, carrying the food box back to the counter.
Tie Niu was taken aback, his face showing a hint of astonishment.
There is only one family with the surname Feng in the east of the town, and that is the Feng Gan family.
He turned around and asked again, "Accountant Liu, is Manager Wan sure he wants me to deliver the order to the Feng family?"
"Young Master Feng specifically requested Manager Wan to deliver it, and Manager Wan has arranged for you to go." Liu Ji smiled faintly and said, "Manager Wan trusts you, which is why she is letting you go in her place."
Although Tie Niu was reluctant, upon hearing this, he didn't want to betray Wan Qiqi's trust.
He knew that only by doing well could he attract Manager Wan's attention and have a better future.
With that thought in mind, Tie Niu picked up the food box and headed outside.
I don't know what dishes Feng Gan ordered, but the food box was unusually heavy.
He had to stop and rest for a while after walking every hundred meters before he could continue.
After repeating this process for a quarter of an hour, he finally arrived at the entrance of the Feng residence.
The Feng family was a prominent family in Hefeng Town, living in a large mansion. The two stone lions at the entrance alone showed how grand the mansion was.
It took him the time it takes to brew a cup of tea just to walk around the Feng residence looking for a side gate.
In wealthy households like this, unless someone is a guest invited by the host, no one else can enter through the main gate.
When he delivers food, he can only use the side door or the backyard.
"Knock knock knock~"
"Knock knock knock~"
Tie Niu knocked for a while before voices came from inside.
"Who is it! What are you making so much noise in the middle of the day! Can't a person get some sleep?!"
Amidst the shouts, the side door opened.
A stout middle-aged man stood in the doorway, sized up Tie Niu, and said coldly, "Who are you? What do you want?"
His tone was unfriendly, and his gaze toward Tie Niu was filled with disdain and disgust.
Tie Niu sensed the other party's disdain, but still maintained a smile on his face and said respectfully, "Sir, I am a errand boy from Xinglong Restaurant. Young Master Feng ordered food at the restaurant, and I'm bringing it to him now!"
He disliked the other person's attitude, but he also knew he couldn't easily offend people.
"Food delivery?" The middle-aged man seemed surprised, as if he knew nothing about it.
"Yes, I'm here to deliver the food. This is the food from our restaurant," Tie Niu replied, raising the food box in his hand.
The middle-aged man looked him over for a while, as if to confirm whether it was true or not.
After a long pause, he said, "Alright, you wait here. I'll have someone ask the maid in the young master's room."
Although Tie Niu didn't want to wait, he had no choice but to actually go in and report.
After a stick of incense had burned, someone finally came and led him into the courtyard.
The entrance leads to a courtyard planted with bamboo, with a pebble-paved path leading to another door; then, a winding corridor is passed through, with delicate potted plants on both sides and several maids sweeping.
Walking along the covered walkway, turning through a door, then into another long corridor, and finally into a courtyard, we arrived at Feng Gan's courtyard.
Tie Niu was not allowed to enter the house, but instead waited in the courtyard.
Suddenly, the sound of a cup shattering came from inside the room, followed by a string of curses: "Damn it, Wan Qiqi, she's messing with me again! Didn't I tell her to deliver it?"
Just by listening to the tone of voices inside, you could tell how displeased the host was.
Iron Bull's Legs trembled involuntarily, fearing that the other party would unleash a torrent of abuse upon emerging.
However, in the end, Feng Gan's servants did not drive him away, but instead let him take the food box inside.
As soon as I reached the door, I smelled a strong incense aroma.
Tie Niu didn't understand incense; he just felt the smell was too strong and made him feel uncomfortable.
There was a stove inside, so it was very warm even with the door open.
The attendant gestured for Tie Niu to place the food on the table, then turned and walked behind the screen.
Only then did Tie Niu dare to look up.
However, before he could even glance at it, he met a pair of eyes filled with hostility.
He paused, nearly spilling the vegetables in his hand.
"Hmph, all they do is brush me off, sending someone like this..." Feng Gan grumbled as he sat down, glancing at the dishes on the table with a furrowed brow.
He said coldly, "Men, prepare the horses, I'm going to Xinglong Restaurant!"
He could allow Wan Qiqi to send someone else, but he wouldn't allow them to serve such perfunctory dishes.
The dishes at Table Mountain have lost their original color and look unappetizing; they're even a bit of a mess, and I don't know what they are.
Looking like leftovers, isn't Wan Qiqi ashamed to have such a thing delivered to her?
Xinglong Restaurant.
Customers came and went in a constant stream, and restaurant staff came and went, making it a lively place.
Feng Gan entered the restaurant and saw this scene.
He came in a menacing manner, and Xiao Liu immediately went to greet him; "Young Master Feng, you've arrived!"
Although Feng Gan was angry, he couldn't refuse a smiling face. He was quite satisfied with Xiao Liu's attitude, and his anger subsided a bit. He said, "Prepare a nice private room for me."
He missed out on a meal at home, so he made sure to eat something good at the restaurant; otherwise, he felt he'd really missed out.
