Chapter 462 Old Mrs. Chen's Transgender Transformation

Chapter 462 Old Mrs. Chen's Transgender Transformation

"Yongxing, how is Qiqi?"

Old Mrs. Chen had only taken two steps at the gate of the courtyard when Chen Yongxing stopped her, and she could only pull Chen Yongxing aside to ask him questions.

“Grandma’s words that day were a bit harsh, but she was only thinking of the Chen family. You should talk to your sister-in-law and tell her that I really didn’t mean any harm.”

Back at Old Chen's house, I had to do everything myself. There wasn't much grain, and the only vegetables were wild greens... In short, I was uncomfortable no matter where I stayed.

Only through comparison can one realize how comfortable and enjoyable it was to live at the Chen family's house before.

Even though Old Mrs. Chen had opinions about Wan Qiqi and disliked her behavior, she still had to bow her head in order to eat well and live comfortably.

Having finally seen her descendants achieve success, she felt she had to enjoy this good life; otherwise, she would feel guilty.

Therefore, after reflecting on her actions, she took the initiative to approach Wan Qiqi and asked her to let her move back into the Chen family home.

Chen Yongxing was skeptical of what the old lady said, after all, she had said this more than once or twice.

Each time, it doesn't take long before it returns to its original state.

Furthermore, if Grandma lived in the Chen family, the wife would quarrel with her, and the family would never have peace.

Chen Yongxing grinned and chimed in, "Grandma, your sister-in-law is in a bad mood right now, so you'd better not go in! You know her personality; if you upset her right now, I'm afraid..."

He didn't finish his sentence, leaving Old Mrs. Chen to imagine it herself.

Grandma Chen hesitated for a moment, then felt that what he said seemed to make sense. She lowered her head and said, "Alright! Your sister-in-law has been staying at home all day. This can't go on. She needs to come out for some fresh air..."

"Grandma, don't worry, my sister-in-law just needs some peace and quiet. Let's not disturb her..." Chen Yongxing smiled and led the old lady out, wanting to get her away from the main room.

Just as she reached the door, Old Mrs. Chen stopped again and said, "Yongxing, I don't think we can let your sister-in-law be so dejected. She still has a lot to do, and we still need to persuade her."

She figured she couldn't stop Wan Qiqi from doing what she wanted, so she had to make sure she did it well and didn't lose the money she had already earned.

Chen Yongxing didn't expect the old lady to turn around and catch him off guard, so he couldn't stop her for a moment.

Li Chongniang came over and asked, "Grandma, you're here again? Aren't you afraid of being carried out again?"

"Woman Insect, what are you saying? Is there a problem with me coming over to check on your sister-in-law?"

As Mrs. Chen was speaking, Chen Yongxing came over and blocked her way.

This reaction would be noticeable to anyone else, let alone Old Mrs. Chen.

Although she hadn't left the village much, she had lived for so long and seen so much of the world, so she could still see through the acting of these younger generation members.

She didn't barge in, but looked at the two of them seriously and said, "Why are you stopping me from going in? What happened to your sister-in-law?"

Recalling Wan Qiqi's state that day, Old Mrs. Chen suddenly felt a bad feeling.

She used to want Wan Qiqi to disappear, and now she's just as afraid of Wan Qiqi disappearing.

Although the old lady's thinking was outdated, she could see many things clearly and knew that Wan Qiqi was the one in charge of the family.

The reason I used to dislike them was because the Chen family was controlled by women.

But at this moment, she felt a pang of envy, because what Wan Qiqi had accomplished was something she longed for but had not been able to achieve.

She knew very well that if Wan Qiqi disappeared, this family would never be as good as it is now, and might even collapse because of the wasteland.

Chen Yongxing's heart skipped a beat. He gripped his wife's hand tightly, trying to maintain his composure and fool the old lady.

He didn't know when his sister-in-law would return, but he kept his promise to her and kept watch over her, otherwise anyone would find out she wasn't there.

"Old lady, are you cursing me?"

Suddenly, a head popped out from the vegetable garden, its tone cold and its expression indifferent, giving off a sense of keeping people at arm's length.

“No, you are Pingping and An'an’s mother, and my Chen family’s granddaughter-in-law. How could I curse you…” Old Mrs. Chen grinned and walked towards the vegetable garden with her cane.

Chen Yongxing and Li Chongniang finally breathed a sigh of relief when they saw Wan Qiqi appear.

The two exchanged a glance and asked each other: When will your sister-in-law be back?

They all shook their heads, indicating they didn't know.

Wan Qiqi put the seedlings aside, patted the soil off her hands, and walked towards Old Madam Chen. "Old Madam, what brings you here? This spendthrift granddaughter-in-law of mine is planning to clear some wasteland again. If you don't want to get upset, you'd better not come to the Chen family."

Grandma Chen knew that her granddaughter-in-law was angry because of what she had said earlier, so she smiled apologetically and said, "Oh, this old woman may have been possessed by an evil spirit a few days ago and said some strange things. Qiqi, don't take it to heart. It's all Grandma's fault."

Wan Qiqi glanced at Old Madam Chen and said calmly, "Really?"

“Of course it’s true!” Old Mrs. Chen immediately seized the opportunity, saying, “I’m a woman too, how could I not understand you? I’m just worried that you, a woman, might get hurt outside…”

As Wan Qiqi walked out, Old Mrs. Chen followed behind, nagging like a little shadow.

Li Chongniang couldn't stand the old lady's change of expression and wanted to argue with her, but Chen Yongxing pulled her back.

“Your sister-in-law has her own ideas, so you don’t need to worry,” Chen Yongxing said in a low voice.

Li Chongniang frowned and glanced at Old Madam Chen, muttering under her breath, "This old lady is clearly comfortable staying here and wants to come back. Who knows what kind of trouble she'll cause when she gets back!"

"Do you think my sister-in-law wouldn't see through this? Don't worry, let her handle it. She won't make us sad!" Chen Yongxing's trust in Wan Qiqi deepened.
