Chapter 501 Giving Sixi a Chance
The March wind carries warmth and brings lush greenery to the city.
After seeing Chen Yongnian and Fang Luxue off, Wan Qiqi's life returned to normal.
Every morning, I would gather a batch of wild vegetables, then listen to the latest news, visit the house to check on everyone's studies, and then go to the restaurant.
Even with guests coming from all directions, Xinglong Restaurant's business remained booming, undeterred by the fact that its competitors were established brands.
The long street was bustling with people. Wan Qiqi walked among the crowd, stopped between two restaurants, and looked out at the guests from all directions.
A town often has only one truly exceptional spot.
In Hefeng Town, the battle between Bafang Laike and Xinglong Restaurant has resulted in Xinglong Restaurant losing in terms of scale; however, she believes that in the future, Xinglong Restaurant can surpass Bafang Laike.
Her goal is not only to surpass customers from all directions, but also to surpass countless restaurants and become famous throughout the world.
After pausing for a moment, Wan Qiqi turned and entered Xinglong Restaurant.
Experienced restaurant employees mentor new employees, familiarizing them with the restaurant's operations so they can soon become independent and take on important responsibilities in Yunhe County.
Tie Niu and Xiao Ding followed her in.
Both of them understood Wan Qiqi's personality, so they stopped to greet her, hoping to gain favor with their employer.
Tie Niu knew that Manager Wan planned to go to Yunhe County next, and he also wanted to go to Yunhe County to see how the scenery in the county was different from that in the town and to learn more.
Wan Qiqi was fully aware of these little schemes, but she didn't expose them. She simply told him to continue working hard, and that he would receive all the rewards he was entitled to.
Xiao Ding was originally a drifting orphan. He was saved by Uncle Xiang and was fortunate enough to enter the restaurant and get a stable wage, which was a great opportunity for him.
Without Uncle Xiang, he wouldn't have survived his childhood; without Wan Qiqi, he might still be begging on the street, living a life of hunger and hardship, and perhaps even dying on the street one day.
His desire to gain favor wasn't about what he wanted to achieve, but rather about getting Wan Qiqi's attention and doing his best for her.
Just as he was about to leave with Tie Niu, Wan Qiqi called him back, but did not let Tie Niu stay.
A hint of surprise flashed in Xiao Ding's eyes, mixed with doubt.
He followed Wan Qiqi upstairs to the second floor and entered the study for the first time.
The study was simply furnished, mostly with accounts and books from the restaurant, as well as some small, accumulated items, filling the small space to the brim, yet it was exceptionally tidy.
He stopped at the entrance, not moving forward, knowing that this place contained all the restaurant's secrets and not wanting to know anything he shouldn't know.
"Come in! It's alright." Wan Qiqi turned around and smiled, quite satisfied with Xiao Ding's reaction.
Xiao Ding then took a few steps inside, looked down at the spot where he had walked, and only felt relieved when he saw that there were no mud marks left. He then looked up at Wan Qiqi with a hearty smile, "Sister Qi!"
Wan Qiqi nodded, sat down by the window, and gestured for Xiao Ding to sit down and chat.
Xiao Ding walked over cautiously, sat down, and kept fidgeting, as if needles had grown on the chair, making it impossible for him to sit still.
Finally, he stood up and said, "Sister Qi, I'd better stand up and talk to you!"
Wan Qiqi didn't object and asked, "Have you ever been to Yunhe County?"
Xiao Ding paused for a moment, then shook his head and said, "I've never been there, but some people I know have. Sister Qi, what business do you want me to go to Yunhe County for?"
"In a place the size of Yunhe County, how long would it take you to grasp the information about every street and alley?" Wan Qiqi asked, raising her eyes.
Xiao Ding hesitated for a moment.
He had never been there and didn't know exactly how big Yunhe County was, but he had heard people say that Yunhe County was five or six times the size of Hefeng Town.
If we calculate it this way, it might take some effort.
Seeing that he hadn't answered for a while, Wan Qiqi roughly knew the answer and said, "I'll give you a month to go to Yunhe County and familiarize yourself with the streets and alleys. It doesn't need to be as detailed as Hefeng Town, down to the smallest alley, but I hope that when you're in Yunhe County, you can find your way as quickly as possible by giving any place name."
Xiao Ding was taken aback for a second, then nodded and replied, "Okay, Sister Qi, leave this to me, I'll definitely handle it properly!"
"Okay, you can stop the delivery work here for now. Once you've finished your work over there, I'll pay you based on your performance." Wan Qiqi smiled, finding Xiao Ding more and more pleasing to the eye.
She needs people who act without asking questions.
After Xiao Ding left, Wan Qiqi also prepared to go downstairs to take a look. Just as she passed the private room, she saw Sixi working inside.
Wan Qiqi paused, then gradually stopped.
Si Xi noticed the gaze directed at the door, looked up, and said, "Greetings, Manager Wan!"
Wan Qiqi nodded slowly, neither leaving nor going inside, and leaned against the door frame, asking, "Have you heard anything about what's happening in town lately?"
Si Xi was taken aback.
Of course she heard about it!
Several families living nearby were discussing the girls' school, and they were talking about it very well.
She was initially curious about how bold he was, but later she heard that the owner was a woman named "Sister Wan".
In Hefeng Town, among people surnamed Wan, she only knew this one person with such abilities.
With Wan Qiqi's questioning now added to her suspicions, she knew that Wan Qiqi was the mastermind behind the girls' school.
She thought Wan Qiqi was just teaching the people in the restaurant to read, but she never imagined that she would actually open a school specifically for women.
Such courage is admirable and respectable!
"I've heard about it!" Sixi answered truthfully.
"Do you have any ideas?" Wan Qiqi asked, her expression rather calm, making it impossible to tell what she was thinking.
