Chapter 507 Wenzhai

Chapter 507 Wenzhai

"Yes, a little to the left... and a little to the right. No, it's off-center..."

Wu Gousheng's voice came from outside the house, attracting the girls who were resting inside to come out.

Malabar spinach was the first to be seen. She saw several people standing at the door and looked up at one spot.

She was about to leave when Wan Qiqi called her back.

"Don't come out, or you'll get hit!"

No one disobeyed the boss, but some clever little devils still managed to sneak out from the side and look up.

A brand-new plaque was hung on the once empty gate of the house, but the person who slipped out only recognized the character "文" (wen, meaning literature).

"Wenzhai?" Luo Kui murmured, turning her head to look at Wan Qiqi and asking, "Sister Wan, is this the name of our school?"

Wan Qiqi nodded. "What do you think?"

She was actually quite conflicted.

She had been thinking about this for the past few days. It was too difficult to make a girls' school open and aboveboard; it was fortunate that it was allowed to exist at all.

She doesn't need to become fat overnight.

You might not get fat in one bite, and you might even choke, which would be a loss.

So, after much deliberation, she used the character "文" (wen, meaning literature) instead of openly naming the school something else.

"I think it's good, simple and clear, I like it." Luo Kui smiled brightly.

When Wan Qiqi saw her smile, the corners of her mouth also curved slightly.

"Alright, everyone, let's go in first!"

She patted Luo Kui on the shoulder and followed the crowd inside.

After taking only a few steps, Wan Qiqi spotted a familiar figure in the crowd.

Luo Kui noticed this and explained to Wan Qiqi, "Sister Wan, that's Xiao Meng, who just arrived these past two days. She's very smart; every time Mr. Zhong teaches her, she gets it right away!"

"Xiao Meng?" Wan Qiqi felt that the name sounded familiar, as if she had heard it somewhere before.

It wasn't until the girl turned around and their eyes met that Wan Qiqi finally remembered who she was.

Isn't this the little girl crying at the alley entrance the other day?

She was surprised that the little girl's parents actually agreed to let her come over.

However, with such conditions, any girl who wants to study would be tempted.

Xiao Meng seemed to recognize Wan Qiqi as well, a look of surprise in her eyes, "You...you're not the aunt from that day?"

Luo Kui immediately stepped forward to correct him, saying, "You should call her Sister Wan."

"Hello, Sister Wan!" Xiao Meng quickly bowed to Wan Qiqi, showing great respect.

"Since you're here, study hard. Don't waste this opportunity and then secretly hide away and cry." Wan Qiqi spoke in a soft tone, with a hint of joking.

Xiao Meng blushed, lowered her head, and whispered, "Okay."

After exchanging a few pleasantries with her, Wan Qiqi let her in.

Luo Kui stayed beside Wan Qiqi, showing no intention of leaving.

She seemed hesitant, but finally asked, "Sister Wan, why didn't Sixi come? Was something at the restaurant that delayed him?"

Wan Qiqi hadn't noticed this before, but now she realizes that Sixi is indeed not there.

She knew perfectly well whether something had happened at the restaurant, so the outcome was predictable.

"It's alright, it's all her choice. Just do your own thing." Wan Qiqi reached out and patted Luo Kui's head.

These two girls are actually very similar; they both only have one relative left.

But they are different because they chose different paths.

"I just feel a little regretful. Sixi is just as good at learning as I am, and we get along very well..." Luo Kui became more and more disappointed as she spoke, as if she had lost a very good friend.

"She probably has her own thoughts, and we can't impose our will on others. Life is short, and many people will pass through our lives. Don't be sad!"

Wan Qiqi felt that being sad about this was useless, after all, Luo Kui was not Si Xi.

At that moment, a woman's voice came from behind them.

"Sister Qi, have you named the school?"

Turning around, Tao Jing stood in the courtyard, tilting her head and holding an abacus and a booklet in her hands, smiling at them with a tilted head.

Having met Tao Jing before and received Wan Qiqi's permission, Luo Kui immediately greeted her with a smile, "Miss Tao, what brings you here?"

Tao Jing tilted her head and smiled, saying, "Come and help! If someone teaches you to read, someone else should teach you arithmetic." As she spoke, she shook the abacus in her hand a couple of times, saying, "My brother taught me arithmetic, and I never make a mistake!"

Wan Qiqi suddenly remembered when she first met Tao Jing, Tao Jing was scolded by Tao Ran because she was only half-baked at math and even taught Lao San.

Unexpectedly, in just a few months, this little girl is about to become a female teacher, instructing others in arithmetic!

"Aren't you afraid of causing trouble for your brother by coming here like this?" Wan Qiqi asked, which was also her biggest concern.

Although it was a girls' school and had no connection with the Hefeng Academy, it was still closely related.

“I’m not a member of the academy, I can go wherever I want. Even my father doesn’t care about me, so why should anyone else?” Tao Jing said, walking towards Wan Qiqi. “Besides, aren’t you short-staffed? I’ll come and earn a living!”

"The wages I pay you aren't enough for your daily expenses," Wan Qiqi said, frowning slightly.

"I'm not short of money. I just want to find something to do. Otherwise, all those gossipy aunts and uncles will be looking for me every day, trying to introduce me to marriage partners. I don't want that," Tao Jing said helplessly.

As the two were talking, Zhong Le came out upon hearing the noise and called Luo Kui into the house before joining their conversation. "It's good that she's here. There are some things her brother didn't tell her, so I'll teach her once."

Tao Jing felt like she had escaped the clutches of a wolf only to fall into the jaws of a tiger.

She didn't understand what these people wanted to do. Wasn't she getting enough?
