Chapter 508 Four Joys' Choice

Chapter 508 Four Joys' Choice

At Xinglong Restaurant, everyone was engrossed in their work.

Si Xi returned from outside carrying a food box, attracting Chen Yongliang's attention.

"You didn't go to school today?"

The question startled Sixi for a moment, and she turned her face away and answered softly.

No one could hear what she said; they only watched as she hurriedly walked out with another food box, seemingly working even harder than before!

Chen Yongliang was completely baffled. He glanced at Liu Ji and said, "We don't seem to have offended her, so why does she seem to be ignoring us?"

“That’s normal. Sixi is a girl, so she doesn’t think the same way we do.” Liu Ji said, glancing at the accounts Chen Yongliang had registered. He sighed, shook his head, and said, “If you register like this, only you will be able to see the truth in the future.”

Chen Yongliang lowered his eyes and touched his nose, seemingly a little embarrassed about the matter, but a sly glint flashed in his eyes as he looked at the ledger controlled by Liu Ji.

"Brother Liu, please teach me. Your accounts are so well kept, you must have some tricks up your sleeve."

Upon hearing the praise, Liu Ji smiled faintly, even with a hint of pride, and said, "This is all experience I've accumulated over many years..."

"It's precisely because you're so experienced that I want to learn from you and teach me!"

After Chen Yongliang's persistent pleading, Liu Ji finally relented and began to formally teach Chen Yongliang financial management.

Meanwhile, Wan Qiqi returned from outside and encountered Si Xi, a food deliveryman, on the way.

Before she could make any move, Sixi walked around her, seemingly trying to avoid her.

Wu Gousheng wanted to go along to take a look, but Wan Qiqi stopped him. The two of them went back to the restaurant and headed to the study on the second floor.

Before even reaching the study, they overheard a conversation between Xiao Liuzi and Zhu Chengye in the private room.

"Manager Zhu, how about giving Sixi a couple of days off? I've seen her working like crazy these past two days, as if she's trying to make up for all the hours she missed. If this continues, her health might not be able to take it!"

As Xiao Liuzi spoke, a hint of worry appeared on his face.

Instead of answering him directly, Zhu Chengye asked, "You two have a good relationship, do you know what happened to her these past two days?"

When this point was brought up, Xiao Liuzi couldn't help but sigh, looking quite serious.

He looked up at Zhu Chengye, seemingly wanting to say something but holding back, and then sighed.

Wu Gousheng watched from the doorway and figured that if Xiao Liuzi was facing Sister Qi, he would definitely have been knocked on the head!

Seeing that Xiao Liuzi hadn't said anything for a while, Wan Qiqi decided not to listen anymore and started walking forward.

"Grandma Sixi had an accident the day before yesterday and was sent to Doctor Ge overnight. I heard that Sixi borrowed money from others and it seems that she doesn't have enough money on hand..." Xiao Liuzi sighed again after saying that.

Wan Qiqi stopped walking at this moment, turned around and walked towards the private room, saying, "She will make her own decisions about her own affairs. You may mean well by letting her rest, but she doesn't need it."

Xiao Liuzi was surprised to see Wan Qiqi, and immediately became more obedient.

Before he could say anything more, Wu Gousheng pulled him outside, leaving the two shops to the two shopkeepers.

Wan Qiqi had always known about Sixi's grandmother's illness, but she didn't know what kind of illness it was that made her soak in medicine every day, yet her condition hadn't improved; in fact, it seemed to be getting worse.

Zhu Chengye could tell what Wan Qiqi was thinking just by looking at her expression. He said, "Her grandmother took the wrong medicine before and barely survived. But she was weak and her health deteriorated as she got older."

"So, her grandmother was actually like Uncle Wan back then, only able to keep her alive with medicine?" Wan Qiqi said, her brows furrowing.

She felt an urge to go and see what was really going on with the old lady.

But she's not a doctor, so what good would it do if she went?

If, due to her misjudgment, she administers inappropriate medication and sends the person away prematurely, then she has truly done more harm than good!

Therefore, she quickly calmed down.

"It's the same, yet different." Zhu Chengye pondered for a moment and said, "Master Wan sought out countless famous doctors back then, but to no avail. However, if her grandmother could find a famous doctor, there might still be a chance to save her."

Wan Qiqi was about to ask why she didn't go look for her, but then she remembered Sixi's family situation and the old lady's condition, and thought that she was willing but unable to do so.

After discussing it for a while, the two decided to give Sixi a pension, which was considered a subsidy from the two employers to employees who were experiencing difficulties at home.

Si Xi was unaware of this and was still avoiding Wan Qi Qi because of not going to the girls' school, fearing that she would question him.

However, Xinglong Restaurant was originally Wan Qiqi's territory, and she was an employee of Xinglong Restaurant. Even if she hid, she could only hide for a while. Soon, Wan Qiqi caught her and took her to the open space in the backyard.

Si Xi glanced at him cautiously and noticed that Manager Wan's expression wasn't very good. He decided to take the initiative to avoid making the other party even angrier.

"Manager Wan, I've thought about it for two days and decided not to go to the academy. I'll stay and work at the restaurant; that suits me better. Thank you for giving me this opportunity; I'm sorry to have disappointed you."

As he spoke, Sixi lowered his head, appearing very sincere.

Wan Qiqi wasn't surprised by the apology, but felt it was a bit of a pity. She said, "You don't need to apologize to me. This was your own choice, and I respect it. I also hope that you can take responsibility for the consequences of your choice."

Si Xi was taken aback, seemingly quite shocked, and then she gave a self-deprecating laugh.

Who is this person? Why would they care about how a nobody like me chooses?

Thinking about all the girls in the school, and all the people who admire her, it wouldn't matter if she were one less.
