Wan Ziyan turned his face away and leaned out the window, muttering, "Jing-mei has been gone for so long, aren't you worried?"
Tao Ran's expression darkened slightly. He picked up his teacup, took a small sip, and frowned. "Qi Qi's sweet soup is still the best."
Although the two didn't say anything, Wan Qiqi sensed something was wrong; Wan Ziyan seemed to have many secrets.
Just then, voices came from the stairwell.
"Your pancakes aren't even as good as my sister-in-law's, and you're selling them for 5 coins? You're really losing money!"
"I've never tried it before. You're making it sound so appealing, so let me have one!"
"I...I'll bring it to you tomorrow, and you'll be completely convinced!"
"That's a deal! If I don't take you, I'm a liar!"
The three men were relieved to see the two children return.
