Chapter 443 Persuading Sixi
The sun quietly climbed up the hillside, enveloping the earth in its brilliant light.
The greenery that climbs up is even more dazzling in the sunlight, as if every inch of the land is exuding the fragrance of vegetables.
However, there was a small space shrouded in darkness, much like it was covered by dark clouds, with raindrops falling from it.
Such a beautiful scene has been ruined by this haze, which is really disheartening.
"You're really honest, standing so far away, aren't you going to comfort him?" Fang Luxue tilted her head and looked at Wu Gousheng with a curious expression.
Wu Gousheng was taken aback, seemingly not expecting Fang Luxue to come along.
As the other person drew closer, the faint sound of gardenias wafted into his nostrils, causing him to catch his breath and his earlobes to turn red.
Fang Luxue stared at his slightly reddened ear tips, then suddenly laughed and asked, "Your ears are red? Why?"
Wu Gousheng avoided Fang Luxue's gaze, but not only did his ears turn red, his face also flushed red.
"You...you stay away, there's a difference between men and women." He took a step back, making sure there was no scent of gardenias in his breath, before letting out a long sigh.
Fang Luxue raised her head arrogantly, looking indifferent, and said, "If I'm not afraid, what are you afraid of? Do you have something to hide?"
"No!" Wu Gousheng answered decisively.
"No, no, why are you being so fierce? You'll never find a girl you like if you keep acting like this." Fang Luxue muttered to herself, but her eyes were fixed on Sixi, and she asked curiously, "What's wrong with him?"
Wu Gousheng wanted to ask Fang Luxue what he had done wrong, but was interrupted by the following question and replied, "I don't know what's wrong with her either..."
Then, Wu Gousheng recounted the events of the past few days, and also revealed that Sixi was a woman.
"She's a woman?" Fang Luxue's tone was tinged with shock, which quickly turned into admiration. "She didn't do anything wrong; she just wanted to cure her loved one's illness. And according to you, she did better than anyone else, right?"
Wu Gousheng nodded. "I didn't say she was wrong! She did very well."
"But because she is a woman, the way you look at her changes, and even the way you treat her changes because she is a woman, making her feel repressed."
After Fang Luxue finished speaking, she looked at Wu Gousheng, grinned, and said, "I'll help you solve this, as an apology to Sister Qi on behalf of Father!"
Before Wu Gousheng could speak, she skipped and hopped toward the person sitting on the grass crying.
Wu Gousheng stared blankly into the distance.
He remembered that the Fang Luxue in his memory was not like this, but someone who would kill others in order to save her own life.
But now, although Fang Luxue sometimes acts like the daughter of a county magistrate, she is not at all annoying, and people even seem to like her a little bit.
"Why are you crying?" Fang Luxue took out her handkerchief and handed it to the person on the ground.
Si Xi was surprised that someone would come over, and hurriedly wiped away her tears.
After looking up and recognizing who it was, he quickly stood up and bowed to Fang Luxue: "This humble servant greets Miss Fang."
Her voice was slightly hoarse, with a nasal tone from crying, and her eyes were red at the corners, making her look rather pitiful.
Even though he was in a bad mood, Sixi knew the proper order of things and didn't dare to easily accept the handkerchief that Fang Luxue offered him. "Miss Fang, I'm dirty and wouldn't dare to soil your handkerchief."
She glanced at the handkerchief; it was made of fabric she couldn't afford, and it carried a faint scent of gardenias.
"Stop being so long-winded! I told you to take it, so take it!" Fang Luxue shoved the handkerchief into her hand and said, "What's the use of crying here? Will it change their opinion of you?"
Si Xi's expression changed upon hearing this; he looked even worse than if he were crying.
She mustered her courage and said, "You are different from poor people like us, you wouldn't understand our feelings..."
"What do you feel wronged about? Their differential treatment of you? Their change in attitude towards you?" Fang Luxue tilted her head and stared straight at Sixi.
Si Xi, having his thoughts exposed, remained silent.
"Men and women are different. Knowing that you are a woman, they certainly can't treat you the same way as before, otherwise gossip will not be good for either them or you."
Fang Luxue glanced around and saw a large rock, gesturing for Sixi to go over there together.
"Now that this layer has been added, your relationship will no longer be the same as before! But since both managers have spoken, they won't really do anything to you."
"They'll probably hate me, think I lied to them, and be even less willing to be outdone by me." Sixi was afraid they would band together to ostracize him and drive him out of the restaurant.
“That’s because they’re incompetent, why blame you?” Fang Luxue spoke up for justice, saying, “You didn’t do anything wrong, you did a great job. Even if one day we really have to kick people out, it will be them.”
"Isn't there some kind of... assessment at the restaurant? Yes, that assessment. If you pass it, you can stay at the restaurant, right?"
Si Xi lowered her eyes and remained silent.
Fang Luxue said she knew everything, but she felt wronged, as if everyone was isolating her, as if they wanted to drive her out.
"And how can you be so sure they really want to get rid of you?" Fang Luxue sat on the rock, blinked, and said, "You were used to interacting with them as a man, so you're used to that kind of situation."
"Why don't you change your way of thinking, face your identity as a woman, and interact with others in a woman's way? Perhaps you'll feel a difference then?"
Si Xi looked puzzled, seemingly not quite understanding Fang Luxue's words.
But upon closer reflection, it seems that she really is stuck in a blind spot in her thinking, always assuming the worst of people.
