Chapter 350 The portrait is problematic
Sunset, dusk, the sun is setting in the west.
Although Hefeng Town is small, searching for it is not an easy task.
After searching all afternoon, Chen Yongnian still couldn't find the pair of eyes he recognized.
The last place is the alley where Mingyuefang is located.
"My benefactor?" Du Ruo looked at Chen Yongnian, who was dressed in a constable's uniform in the distance, and was somewhat uncertain.
The other people in Mingyuefang came over to see what was happening when they heard Du Ruo's shout.
Where?
"That looks like a constable conducting a search, not Manager Wan's husband?"
"Judging from the figure, they do seem somewhat similar."
As dusk fell, Chen Yongnian went around asking questions, looking at each person and exchanging glances.
"Thank you." Chen Yongnian sighed, somewhat dejected.
He then strolled forward and met the gazes of the people from Mingyuefang.
"My benefactor, it really is you!" Du Ruo pulled her clothes tighter and walked forward, asking with concern, "I heard that Xinglong Restaurant had an accident. How is it now? Is Manager Wan alright? Is there anything we can do to help?"
Chen Yongnian stepped back, keeping a certain distance from Du Ruo, before saying, "We are investigating the suspect. Madam is currently in the restaurant and is fine."
His tone was distant, deliberately keeping his distance, and he didn't even look up at Du Ruo.
Seeing his attitude, Du Ruo understood what was going on. She took a few steps back and returned to the courtyard, saying, "It's good that Manager Wan is alright."
At the same time, Liu Hua came out of the courtyard, stopped in front of Chen Yongnian, bowed to him, and said, "Manager Chen, Mingyue Workshop is willing to help with the investigation. Is there anything we can do to help?"
Chen Yongnian then looked up, nodded in return, and, as before, took out the portrait and asked, "This is a portrait of the suspect. Has anyone in Mingyuefang seen this person?"
He knew the outcome, but he asked again anyway.
Liu Hua opened the portrait, looked at it for a moment, shook his head, and handed it to Jing Shisi Niang who was walking by.
After looking at it, Jing Shisi Niang shook her head and handed it to the next person.
After everyone read it, they finally noticed something unusual in the crowd.
“Sister Jing, I saw this person at the restaurant yesterday!” A girl who looked about fourteen or fifteen years old came out with a portrait and said, “However, the person I saw does not look quite the same as this portrait, but their bone structure seems to match.”
Jing Shisi Niang frowned slightly. "Chanyi, are you sure? This is no joke!"
Chanyi replied, "I'm sure I'm not mistaken. I can still draw that person's appearance!"
A glint flashed in Chen Yongnian's eyes, and he said with slight excitement, "I'd be grateful if Miss Chanyi could draw it!"
Although Jing Shisi Niang did not know whether Chan Yi had actually seen that person, she knew that Chan Yi had a photographic memory and was also a first-rate painter.
Perhaps she really can provide some clues.
Chen Yongnian did not go in; he simply stood at the door and waited.
The other constables finished their investigation and were about to leave when they saw Chen Yongnian still standing there and called out, "Chen Guannian, let's go!"
“You guys go first, I’ll wait a bit!” Chen Yongnian replied.
The man didn't pay much attention, switched with his brother, and walked out.
After a long while, Chen Yongnian didn't receive the portrait; instead, he was greeted by Liang Pengfei.
Liang Pengfei glanced around the courtyard of Mingyuefang and whispered, "Is there anything suspicious?"
Chen Yongnian raised his eyes and said seriously, "The people from Mingyuefang have seen the criminals, and their experience is different from ours. Perhaps the outcome will be different."
Liang Pengfei nodded and said, "Bring all the people from Mingyuefang back to the restaurant." As he spoke, he waved to the constables in the distance, signaling them to come over.
Chen Yongnian was taken aback, then immediately realized what was happening.
If the people of Mingyuefang see the true face of the criminal, staying here will surely be dangerous.
He had barely finished thinking when the constables rushed in and dragged the people from Mingyuefang out.
"What are you doing? Why are you arresting us?"
"Sir, we did nothing wrong, why are you arresting us?"
Five or six dancers were pushed out, and Chanyi, who had just finished painting a portrait, was also brought out.
The group was initially making some noise, but after meeting Liang Pengfei's cold gaze, they fell completely silent.
Chanyi clutched the portrait, lowered her head, and trembled slightly.
Jing Shisi Niang took the portrait from her hand and handed it to Liang Pengfei, saying, "This is a portrait of the suspect seen in Mingyue Fang."
Liang Pengfei took the portrait and signaled the constables to take all the people away.
Chen Yongnian stared at Chan Yihua's portrait, slightly taken aback.
Apart from having extremely long eyelashes, the two people in the portraits have no other similarities.
However, when the two portraits are superimposed and held up to the light, they appear almost identical.
Chen Yongnian was somewhat shocked; he had no idea that Mingyuefang had such a capable person.
Liang Pengfei couldn't help but praise, "This woman is a capable person. It's a pity she's a woman!"
“A person’s ability is not determined by gender,” Chen Yongnian suddenly added.
Liang Pengfei was slightly taken aback, seemingly finding it hard to believe that these words would come from Chen Yongnian.
Then, he thought of Wan Qiqi and realized it was normal for Chen Yongnian to say those words.
The people from Mingyuefang were brought back to Xinglong Restaurant, which surprised the restaurant's staff.
They thought Mingyuefang was unrelated to the matter and should be fine.
Wan Qiqi was not surprised to see Jing Shisi Niang, but when she saw the two portraits placed together, a hint of astonishment flashed in her eyes.
"This portrait is so lifelike, I wonder who painted it?" She turned to look at Jing Shisi Niang.
Jing Shisi Niang waved to Chanyi, "Chanyi is the youngest sister here, and the only one who has studied calligraphy and painting."
Wan Qiqi carefully examined the cicada's skin.
She was relatively young, hadn't fully grown up, and still had baby fat on her face, making her look chubby.
Her big, bright eyes blinked, untouched by the world's pollution, exceptionally pure.
