Chapter 762 Factions in the Capital
An hour later, Wan Qiqi and Xiao Huai parted ways and left the teahouse.
A moment later, Zhu Chengye also came out of the teahouse.
"See? I was right, wasn't I? Wan Qiqi has ulterior motives!"
Voices could be heard coming from inside the teahouse.
Zhu Chengye turned around, looking coldly at the people inside, "What does this prove?"
"She and Xiao Huai both chose places like this; isn't that suspicious? Otherwise, why not go to Xinglong Restaurant? Don't deceive yourself!"
The people inside were clearly trying to sow discord, and they didn't even try to hide it.
Zhu Chengye narrowed his eyes, his gaze cold and stern. "Tang Qiwen, what is your purpose in trying to sow discord between me and her? Do you think I will believe her or you?"
"Isn't this up to you?" Tang Qiwen walked out of the teahouse. "I just came to remind you that she's already looking for a new business partner and is preparing to abandon you!"
"Looking for Xiao Huai?" Zhu Chengye sneered twice. "Even if Xiao Huai is capable, he doesn't know anything about business. What's the use of looking for him?"
"And what about Xiao Han?" Tang Qiwen smiled. "I've heard that she's been getting close to Xiao Han lately!"
"Did you spread the rumors in the restaurant?" Zhu Chengye asked quickly.
He squinted and stared intently at Tang Qiwen, wanting an explanation from him.
"What does this have to do with me?" Tang Qiwen's expression immediately changed. "What good would it do me to spread this?"
"Your family owns a restaurant in Yunhe County!" Zhu Chengye replied.
Tang Qiwen scoffed, "What does this have to do with anything? Don't make false accusations! If you want to guess what I'm thinking, you might as well go with Wan Qiqi and see what she's up to!"
"What she does is none of your business! Stop secretly following her and stop plotting behind her back!"
Zhu Chengye glared at Tang Qiwen and muttered, "If it weren't for Lord Xie's sake, who would want to talk to you..."
As he spoke, he walked towards the crowd.
"Pah!" Tang Qiwen spat in the direction Zhu Chengye had left and cursed, "Who do you think you are, daring to talk to me like that!"
If Xie Xing hadn't stopped him from taking action against Xinglong Restaurant, Tang Qiwen would have already done so.
Tang Qiwen watched Zhu Chengye's departing figure, then turned to look in the direction Wan Qiqi had left.
Although Xie Xing is currently forbidding any action against Wan Qiqi, he hasn't said that anyone under Wan Qiqi's command cannot be harmed!
An idea suddenly flashed through his mind, and he revealed a sinister smile.
The long street was bustling with people, and shouts filled the air.
Wan Qiqi suddenly stopped at the dock, looked around for a while, and said to the boatman, "Boatman, can you take me around Yunhe County?"
"Okay, but the cost..."
Wan Qiqi took out a small piece of silver, threw it into the boatman's hand, and said, "Come on, you just row the boat ahead, you don't need to worry about anything!"
"Alright!" The boatman took the money and, seeing that Wan Qiqi was dressed in an extraordinary manner, naturally knew what he should and shouldn't ask.
As soon as the boat began to move, a dark shadow darted past and disappeared without a trace.
Inside the cabin, Wan Qiqi sat with another person sitting opposite her.
"Is there anything unusual?" Wan Qiqi asked in a low voice.
“After you and Xiao Huai left, Boss Zhu and Tang Qiwen came out from inside. After arguing for a few words, Boss Zhu left!” Feng Zhi replied.
Wan Qiqi nodded.
Sure enough, the Tang family was involved in some matters.
However, the presence of Tang Qiwen but not Tang Bingfeng made her somewhat uneasy.
"After Tang Qiwen left, he found a beggar and asked him to find a wealthy man he liked," Feng Zhi said, then lowered his eyes to recall, "The second building on the south street of the county, a wealthy man surnamed Liu!"
"Master Liu from South Street?" Wan Qiqi didn't frown.
If I remember correctly, this is the family that Lei Zi offended back then.
Tang Qiwen sent the beggar to find this person, probably because he wanted to cause trouble for Xinglong Restaurant!
Wan Qiqi thought for a moment and said to Feng Zhi, "Have Wuhen keep an eye on things. He doesn't need to take any action. Just report back as needed."
"Yes!" Feng Zhi replied.
"The situation is not optimistic. There are people causing trouble in the shadows. Xie Xing has calmed down, which means he has probably noticed this force!"
Wan Qiqi was curious about Xie Xinghui's choice.
The question remains: will they truly cooperate with these people, or will they choose to set aside everything else and root out this force?
Who were the people who helped Xie Xing get promoted, and to which faction did they belong?
"Madam, news has come from the capital that the person who helped Xie Xing get promoted was from Consort Hui's maternal family. The person you met at Xianju Temple a couple of days ago was Consort Hui's son, the Fifth Prince!"
Feng Zhi's words made Wan Qiqi's eyes tremble.
She never expected that the man was actually a prince!
"How powerful is Consort Hui in the capital?" Wan Qiqi asked.
"His Majesty has not yet appointed a Crown Prince, and several princes are vying for the position, including the Fifth Prince. However, Consort Hui intends to cultivate a good relationship with Elder Xu, so she is not alone in this matter!"
"Who is Xu Lao's enemy?"
"The Second Prince is in the same faction as the Grand Tutor. The Grand Tutor has always only recognized birth and disliked those from humble backgrounds, and is at odds with Old Master Xu."
Where is your master standing?
Wan Qiqi's words startled Feng Zhi.
He didn't expect Wan Qiqi to ask this question directly.
Feng Zhi hesitated for a long time, "I dare not make a decision on the master's matter, but the prince has praised Lord Wan highly!"
Wan Qiqi nodded and didn't ask any more questions.
She knew that if she let Feng Zhi speak, it would be to kill him.
For these secret guards, they cannot casually reveal their master's position; they must simply obey.
Thus, Wan Qiqi mentally singled out the Prince of Huaibei.
She felt that the Prince of Huaibei was not in the same faction as Old Master Xu, but rather deeply trusted by the Grand Tutor.
