Not much changed for Haitang after the marriage. When Dongfang Long got up to go hunting, Haitang would sit alone at home and start knitting a sweater.
Sometimes, Xingxing and Yueyue would come to visit her sister and sit and chat with her. Other times, a few people would come and bring some food. Haitang said she didn't need it several times, but they couldn't stop her.
This winter was cold, but there was no snow. However, the wind started to get biting cold. Haitang sat at home with animal skins spread on the ground and was not cold because she was wearing an overcoat.
When Dongfanglong is almost back, I'll cook something. Erha is at Haitang's house. Haitang gave it some food, and Erha ate it happily, wagging its tail frantically.
When Dongfang Long returned, he was carrying a sheep. He immediately started boiling water nearby and began cleaning its internal organs. "Tangtang, how about we have roast lamb today?"
"Okay," Haitang nodded upon hearing this. The food prepared earlier could be kept for tomorrow. Haitang also knew how to roast a whole lamb. While watching the lamb, she started to add spices.
The husky ate all the innards, and Dongfanglong cleaned them up and started grilling. The mutton had a strong aroma and a strong gamey smell, but after cleaning it, it didn't have those unpleasant smells.
After the mutton was roasted, Dongfang Long started cutting the mutton for Haitang. Haitang couldn't finish the tenderest pieces, so she ate them with Dongfang Long.
One lamb was too much to roast, so she only roasted half and saved the rest for tomorrow. She also cooked a bowl of noodles, which was just enough to eat with the lamb.
After Dongfanglong finished eating, he started boiling water, while Haitang cleaned up the leftovers in the house. With the husky around, they ate very quickly. After Dongfanglong finished boiling the water, he told Haitang to take a bath.
Taking a bath in winter is the most enjoyable thing. Of course, the water will get cold if you bathe for too long, but it is still much better than not being able to take a bath at all before.
After washing up, Haitang went to bed. Dongfang Long also took a shower and came back to hold Haitang as they lay down. The cold wind was still blowing outside.
The howling wind sounded like the roar of the heavens, eerie and terrifying. Haitang couldn't sleep peacefully, and in the middle of the night, she heard noises outside.
Haitang got up, a little confused. Dongfang Long wasn't around, so she got dressed and went out. "Tangtang, you stay at home," Dongfang Long said. Haitang nodded, and he told Erha to watch over her before leaving.
As I rode out, I saw the fires being lit on the human side and the same on the orc side. The wind was strong today, stinging my face. Something had happened on both the orc and human sides.
Houses were blown off and others were blown away. Shi Hu and the others started to help. Shi Hu went to the human side to help carry wood and carry people out. Fortunately, there were very few females on the human side, so not many people were injured.
Although the humans were hit, they only felt pain and were not seriously injured. After seeing that the humans were not badly hurt, Shi Hu went to help the orcs.
More trouble happened on the orc side. There were young orcs and females, and they all started to tremble with fear. As soon as Huoqiu arrived, he immediately told everyone to stay nearby and go to the tribe's storehouse to get animal hides to wrap around the children.
"It seems the wind was too strong. The old house was blown down. Several children were injured. Where should we send them?" someone asked Huo Qiu.
“Send them to Haitang’s side,” Haitang knows medicine, so it’s safer to send them there for her to see. “Tell her there will be some reward. Also, send some lightly injured females over to the witch doctor’s side.”
When Huo Qiu saw the person, he immediately ordered someone to take them away. Dongfang Long's side saw this and also carried the person back. Haitang's side heard the commotion and opened the door.
Upon opening the door, several small females and orcs were brought in.
The medical kit for Haitang's family was delivered by Shi Hu. As soon as Haitang saw it, she immediately started bandaging the person. The orc who delivered it said he would give her something in return, and Haitang nodded.
She didn't refuse, but asked Dongfang Long to make some ginger soup to prevent them from getting cold. Under these circumstances, Haitang knew that some old houses had been blown down, injuring many people.
Fortunately, the orcs were strong and the females were with them. When the orcs crashed down, they carried the weight of the falling creatures. It was the poor children who were not seriously injured.
Under these circumstances, Haitang began applying medicine to the people and had them drink ginger soup. While they were drinking the ginger soup, Haitang spoke up, "Let the child stay here for now."
"Yes, I'll bring the things over tomorrow," the orc who brought them said, and then left. Haitang looked at the children and put them to bed. Dongfang Long looked on with displeasure.
However, he also hugged Haitang and leaned against her to sleep. When Haitang woke up the next day, she saw the people who brought food and Huoqiu's side mobilized all their people to start building houses.
When Haitang saw the food that was brought over, including two live pigs and some sausages, she accepted it and started cooking for the children. The children were frightened, but the little beastman was fine and quickly became lively again, while the little female was a little panicked.
Haitang gave the children some food: roujiamo (Chinese hamburger) and claypot rice. The children who were eating claypot rice were then encouraged to start eating.
Wooden spoons and chopsticks were used as the children ate, their eyes fixed on the crabapple blossoms. "Is it good?"
"Mmm, delicious," the child immediately smiled, and the little female was similar; after eating, her anxiety and fear lessened considerably.
The children's father came to visit and saw that they were doing well. "Um... Haitang, we'll leave the children here for a while. Don't worry, I'll provide them with food and supplies. It's just that the house isn't finished yet; the place the tribe provided is cold, and I'm worried the children won't be able to handle it."
