Chapter 131 Herbivorous Beastmen

Haitang taught a few people to read, and Dongfang Long studied very diligently. At night, he and Haitang carved things together, with Haitang sitting in Dongfang Long's arms.

As Dongfang Long held the stone carving, Haitang could smell his scent and feel his burning body temperature as she leaned against him, warm and cozy like a small stove.

"Sister Ping An wants to do it too." Little Ping An ran over as well. Haitang looked at him and held him in her lap. Dongfang Long didn't say anything. Although the two of them were sitting, it didn't stop Dongfang Long from working.

The main problem was that his wife was too petite, and with a baby in the house, she wouldn't be able to handle anything. Haitang fell into a daze and fell asleep. When she woke up, she saw that what Dongfanglong had carved was not text.

Haitang was stunned for a while, looking at the pattern, which depicted a woman holding a child. Haitang blinked, and Dongfang Long smiled and said, "I want to create a Tangtang." Hearing this, Haitang looked at it.

"Tangtang, do you think it looks good?" When Haitang looked at the front, she realized it was her own face. It wasn't perfect, but you could still tell it was her.

"It's beautiful. Xiaolong is truly multi-talented." Haitang looked at it, and Dongfanglong immediately became happy.

"Then I'll polish it a bit more, and give it to you when it looks even more like Tangtang." Dongfang Long felt very at ease when Tangtang was sleeping, so he started carving it directly.

Haitang nodded, and after watching Xiao Ping'an fall asleep in her arms, she let Xiao Xiang carry her away. Haitang also went to take a bath; taking a bath in winter was no longer a dream these days.

The only downside was that Dongfang Long also liked to get into the bathtub. "Tangtang's body gets cold quickly, but the water cools down quickly when I come in," Dongfang Long explained to Haitang in a serious tone, explaining his reasoning for coming in.

Haitang was so upset she almost kicked someone, but after all the commotion in the water, she eventually passed out and woke up in bed the next day.

To be honest, Haitang knew she was partly to blame. When she was being tormented, she should have cried and looked miserable, instead of watching the other person torment her and finding it all comforting.

After Haitang was speechless with herself, she continued teaching as usual. The students were very serious about it, and under such circumstances, Haitang also learned that Xingxing and Yueyue had taught her name to several people.

Haitang breathed a sigh of relief, still quite happy about the situation. The thing that was spreading was like a plague, well, that's not a great analogy, but it's not bad either.

Winter came but it didn't snow. It wasn't until a month later that snowflakes finally fell from the sky, and everyone breathed a sigh of relief when they saw it.

"Great, no more drought." Many beastmen breathed a sigh of relief. With the snow, there would be no more drought after next spring.

Despite the snow, Xiuxiu brought a thick quilt from her family, made of fur, "to give to the people in the fox tribe."

"Mother..." Changning was stunned when she heard this. She didn't expect Xiuxiu to give her this.

“We have quilts at home, but they’re all very old and worn. Giving them to them wouldn’t be a big problem, especially since they’re your wife.” Xiu Xiu said, looking at Chang Ning. “It’s not that I’m stingy, Chang Ning. If her family were small, I could help them. But… you know her family situation. I can only do my best because your younger brother and sister are still alive.”

Upon hearing this, Changning said, "I know, Mother, I understand. It's my fault for being useless and insisting on liking other girls, but I will try my best."

He was useless and couldn't even produce a single fur, leaving Gu Yue to freeze. In fact, he knew that Xiu Xiu had prepared a cotton-padded coat and wanted him to deliver it to Gu Yue, but he also knew that there was no way for the things to reach Gu Yue, so he kept them.

Gu Yue looked at the quilt Chang Ning was holding with some surprise. "My mother asked me to give it to you." It had patches on it, but they were all in good condition. Although it was a little ugly, it could keep you warm.

"It's snowing now, so don't go out. You'll easily get sick," Changning said to Guyue, who nodded.

While holding the blanket, she wanted to ask Changning to sit down for a while, but there was no place to sit in the house, and Changning didn't want Guyue to get cold, so she left.

Gu Yue went in carrying the blanket, asking, "Sister, where did you come from?"

"It was a gift from your brother Changning," Gu Yue said. Hearing this, the eyes of the females lit up. They were freezing cold because of the snow, and an extra blanket would make them much warmer.

"Brother Changning is so kind." Yes, Changning is very kind. He helps fetch water and does many other things. When Gu Yue heard this, she nodded.

She started to have different feelings for the boy who was a few years younger than her. Perhaps... it was unintentional that she was stirred by him.

Gu Yue's smile grew wider and wider. She hugged the blanket and helped her younger sister lie down, covering her up properly. Then she sat up and started knitting.

The walls were covered with mats, preventing the wind from getting in, which made it much warmer. The orcs had gone hunting and hadn't returned yet; they were expected to come back soon.

Gu Yue and the older females started cooking and eating so that their brothers could eat when they returned. Since they no longer had parents, they started calling each other "brother" and "sister," treating each other as family.

"We caught a chicken today. Let's throw it in the alley behind the house, put some worms in it, and it'll lay eggs," Lone Fox said to the females when he returned. "Then we won't have to worry about not having eggs to eat."

"Mm." Several females nodded and threw the food into the alley behind, near the wall. They dug it up and fed it with small insects and earthworms.
