When Ah Wu arrived at the farm, he looked around and seemed a little lost. Then a farm manager came over and said, "Brother, you're awake, aren't you?"
"Hmm." Upon hearing this, Ah Wu nodded, looking around with a bewildered expression. Everyone's face was full of vitality, and he did not seem to affect the expressions of the slaves inside.
Forget about the expressions a slave should have; they didn't even possess the deathly aura typical of this race. "What are we doing here?"
"The breeding farm at the base," he said, looking at Ah Wu. "I think it's your first time here, so you might not be used to it. I'll show you around. Let me tell you, brother, there are many benefits to working here."
Upon hearing this, Ah Wu looked at the fifth farm manager and asked, "Benefits? What benefits?" "Will they give us food?"
"Of course there is. If we do our best, we can get rid of our slave status." Upon hearing this, Ah Wu couldn't help but laugh. Even if we got rid of our slave status, what could we do?
How do slaves find food if they're not slaves? Looking at Ah Wu's expression, I knew Ah Wu was very skeptical of my words, so I immediately said, "You can tell from your expression that you don't trust me."
"Forget it, just do your work here properly, and you'll know how good this place is. Compared to other places, it's paradise on earth. Besides... we humans don't have the courage to fight wild beasts. We're content as long as we have a bite to eat, and there's no one to fight us." Farm Manager No. 5 said, looking around.
Upon hearing this, Ah Wu nodded, and then Farm Manager No. 5 led him around to look at the place. As he looked around, Ah Wu was shocked and wondered what kind of place this was.
Why are these people so happy? And... not only do they all have smiles on their faces, but they don't look thin and pale; they clearly have eaten well.
The food was indeed quite good. Although there wasn't meat at every meal, there was meat every few days, and sometimes there were even more bones. We enjoyed drinking the soup from every single bone.
Paired with steaming hot noodles, it was simply divine. With such delicious food and drink, the initially skinny people all began to gain weight after arriving at the Tiger Tribe.
"By the way, Brother Wu, let's go get something to eat." Farm Manager No. 5 said as he looked at Wu. Wu nodded and followed him to eat.
"Today we're having noodles and meat patties, and they taste pretty good." With that, they started lining up one by one. Ah Wu stood there dumbfounded, wondering if these people were just putting on an act for him.
In truth, he no longer had much desire to resist. Too many people had died, more than when he first became a slave. Ah Wu was considering giving up because death had instilled fear in him.
While waiting to eat, Ah Wu looked at the food in his hand with some surprise. "It tastes so good, what is it made of?" After looking at the cake in his hand, he looked at Farm Manager No. 5 not far away with some surprise.
"It's made from wheat, and the noodles are too. Eat well, then get back to work. But I heard you're injured, so don't do any hard labor these days. Go help wash the vegetables," said Farm Manager No. 5 as he looked at Ah Wu.
Everyone in this place has to work, and as long as it's reasonable, no conflict is allowed. Of course, if you don't obey, things can get really bad – you could be locked up or, even worse, expelled from the tribe.
All of this is the best way to control the workers. Hearing this, Ah Wu nodded. Ah Wu worked there for several days. Haitang went to ask Huo Qiu about it.
"Not bad." Huo Qiu nodded while eating. "He didn't react at all. According to the person who reported this, he's given up. That makes sense... Anyone would be terrified after that stampede by the Bull Tribe."
Orcs and humans are incomparable; there is a chasm that cannot be crossed. Haitang nodded and said, "That's good. I was just afraid that the other side would be restless and make it impossible for us to live in peace."
"Don't worry, I'm not stupid enough to ignore everything. I'll keep an eye on things on Ah Wu's side. By the way... things will be very chaotic outside these days, and gathering will be prohibited again," Huo Qiu said as she looked at Haitang.
"Could it be that this race has started a rebellion on our side?" Haitang couldn't help but frown and ask. Huoqiu nodded in response.
"These are the people who came to this side. You should know that the human rebels are all troublemakers. After angering the orcs ahead, they ran downhill. We don't know if they're going to the Lion Clan or if they'll come to our side. Although we don't know... it's good to be careful. Those people... under the banner of justice, have done plenty of burning, killing, and looting."
Upon hearing this, Haitang nodded and said, "Yes, I agree. We won't go out to gather anything. The tribe has plenty of fruits and vegetables, so there won't be much trouble even if we don't go out."
Everyone in the family grows their own food, so even without gathering, they won't starve. Of course, sometimes they go out just to see if there are any good things outside.
Gathering doesn't mean you can just go out and find good things; you have to go out and find them yourself. After returning, Haitang started looking for Xiaohe to make clothes for her. The clothes Haitang made were for the little princess.
Although the little princess insisted on wearing the clothes herself, Haitang wanted to make them prettier for her. When Xiaohe looked at them, she said, "Sister, this is a bit troublesome."
