Upon hearing this, Haitang glanced at Shitian. Dongfanglong reached out and grabbed Haitang's hand. Haitang was still confused, but Dongfanglong understood perfectly. What was this man going to do with the slave?
The slaves were brought in; both looked to be teenagers. Although there were many slaves, they didn't live long. After being tortured, they would be thrown out once they were no longer of value. Looking at the slaves, Lion Sky immediately took action.
Haitang was startled when she saw the blood and immediately backed away. Dongfang Long reached out and hugged Haitang, covering her eyes, but Haitang moved his hand away. "I'm alright..."
Looking at the two slaves who were beaten to the point of near death, Haitang looked at Shitian and couldn't help but get a little angry when she heard this. "You choose one."
The lives of slaves are truly worthless, less valuable than a wild game or a hide. It's a pathetic and morbid world. When Haitang looked at them, she immediately chose the one with the most severe injuries.
"I want this," Haitang said. Upon hearing this, the Lion Doctor looked at his young master. He had gone too far; how long would it take to save him?
Lion Sky didn't care. He was testing Begonia's medical skills. Whether a person died or not was no different to him than whether an animal died. People in this world despise slaves.
Those present, not to mention Lion Sky, even the other members of the Leopard Clan showed no concern. The little princess beside him simply hid in Leopard Sun's arms because she was frightened, but not out of pity, but simply out of fear.
Haitang is different from Dongfanglong. Dongfanglong was born a slave, so she understands that kind of Dongfanglong. Haitang is a person living in the modern world. Seeing a child of about thirteen years old with broken ribs and on the verge of death, she felt a surge of anger.
She understood that she couldn't change anything at all, and that's why she felt so pathetic. Haitang squatted down and stretched out her hand for the other person to see.
Lion Sky truly didn't care about the other person's life. "The young clan leader really went all out," someone's limbs were broken, and in just a moment, he had crippled a person.
Even if they were saved, with current medical technology, saving them would be harder than climbing to heaven, Haitang said, looking at Shitian. "Young Clan Leader... I don't think your shaman can save them either. How about I save both of them for you?"
Looking at the other child, Haitang could tell just by glancing at him that the injuries were quite severe. Since she was the one who caused this mess, the thought of abandoning him to his death made her feel like she was having nightmares every night.
“Young Chieftain, I really can’t do anything about it,” the Lion Doctor said. “You brat…you think you can? Then take a look…it’s nothing but a charade,”
“You know whether I’m faking it or not, but Young Clan Leader… I have something to say. What will you do if I heal him?” Haitang asked Shitian.
"What do you want?" Shi Tian asked, looking at Hai Tang. Upon hearing this, Hai Tang glanced at Shi Tian.
“Ten wild boars,” Haitang said. Shitian nodded, and Haitang began to treat the two children. Dongfanglong watched Haitang.
When Haitang looked at Dongfang Long, her eyes were filled with pity. Perhaps the more she saw the slaves being abused, the more heartbroken she felt for Dongfang Long.
When that child came to her side, he was also covered in wounds. Haitang still remembers Dongfang Long's eyes and the wounds from that time.
Haitang felt extremely distressed. She knew that Dongfang Long must have suffered a lot while he was away from her. She was determined to wait until Dongfang Long came to her side.
The reason Haitang treated the child was largely because Dongfang Long was born into the same situation, so she felt pity for him. It wasn't just pity; she also thought that if someone had saved Dongfang Long back then, that would have been good too.
"Alright, if you lose, give me ten wild boars too," Lion said, looking at Haitang. Haitang nodded and didn't say anything more, but started doing her own thing.
After treating the two children's wounds, Haitang asked Baoyang to carry them away. As Baoyang looked at Haitang, he said, "You can't save these two."
Upon hearing this, Haitang looked at Baoyang. "Shitian came for your medical skills. If you save these two slaves, it will only cause you trouble in the end. They're just two slaves; if they die, they die."
Looking at Haitang, Bao Yang spoke up. Hearing this, Haitang glanced at Bao Yang and nodded. "You're right. They're just two slaves, but in my eyes, they're two lives."
Haitang looked directly at Baoyang. "I can't change your minds, but I will save him. Just handle things for me then. This whole mess is your fault,"
“You… okay,” Bao Yang frowned slightly when he heard this, but nodded the next second. Under such circumstances, he could only agree to Haitang’s request.
When Haitang was in the room, looking at the two boys, Dongfang Long looked at Haitang. "Tangtang... are you sad?"
"Yes, it hurts. Thinking about how you were bullied like that before makes me very sad," Haitang said. "I remember the first time I saw you, you were being bullied so badly, it broke my heart..."
“Those things about Tangtang are all in the past. I’m doing well now. Look at me, I’m by your side. You’ve protected me, taken care of me, and given me so many benefits. You’ve helped me understand a lot of things. I don’t think those things were painful,” Dongfang Long said.
For Dongfang Long, there wasn't much in the past that was worth his pain, because he met Haitang, and it was because of Haitang that he had everything he had today.
