"Then let's wait before we set off." Although it's flying in the sky, there's always the problem of sandstorms. Even airplanes can be killed if they encounter one, let alone mortals. Haitang felt that safety should be the priority.
Upon hearing this, Yueyue nodded. That night, the group rested with their eyes closed, while the freshmen took turns keeping watch. The next day, at dawn, Haitang washed her hands in the nearby lake.
These people would return from hunting in the surrounding area. The lake water was very clear. After absorbing the water, Haitang watched as the people not far away started cooking with ceramics. The ceramics were a bit old and had a chip in them.
The fish was grabbed, slapped to death, and thrown in. Haitang couldn't help but frown. "The fish will taste terrible if you do it like this," Haitang said instinctively.
They couldn't stand the smell, and the group paused for a moment, looking at Haitang. "Then what should we do?" Haitang had enjoyed the barbecue yesterday, and they could smell it.
"You have to kill the fish." After seeing a fish lying at her feet, Haitang squatted down, picked up a stone from the ground, and began to kill it. The sharp stone cut open the fish's belly, and after cleaning it, she handed it to the others.
When the lizard beastmen saw it, they did as instructed. "Fish will taste bad if you put them in water that hasn't been boiled." The others nodded, willing to learn. When the soup was ready, the lizard beastmen's eyes lit up.
"It tastes hundreds of times better." It's much tastier than the fishy smell at first, and the fish meat tastes just as good. My eyes lit up when I looked at the crabapple blossoms.
"How did you know?" a lizardman asked, his face full of excitement.
"Ahem... I'm picky, so I'm trying to find a way to test you." Haitang said after hearing this. Those people looked at Haitang; her fair skin and overall demeanor gave off the feeling of a fairy.
It's natural for women to be picky. Many females in tribes don't like to eat fish, and the same goes for orcs. However, when prey is scarce, whether something tastes good or bad isn't a factor; as long as it's palatable, it's fine.
The way Haitang described how to cook fish today immediately made everyone happy. "Can grilled fish be cleaned like this too?"
"Hmm." Upon hearing this, Haitang nodded. The lizard beastman immediately became happy and caught a few fish for Haitang. Haitang thanked him and went back to grill them.
Yueyue didn't stop Haitang from interacting with the lizard beastmen. Haitang brought back the fish and ate it. She also looked around for some wild vegetables and added them to her food.
When Ximing and his group returned from their hunt, they found very little prey. There was hardly any prey in this area, and they even hesitated to eat the fish because the taste was really hard to find.
However, after eating it, everyone was surprised. "Why does the fish taste so good today? Did you catch some different kind of silverfish?"
"No, it's still the same fish, but the female on the other side taught us how to clean it, so it tastes much better. We won't have a fishy smell in our mouths anymore when we eat fish." Everyone nodded in agreement.
Lizard Ming glanced at the crabapple tree not far away, and walked over to it. The crabapple tree looked at Lizard Ming and said, "What I said yesterday was true. The sandstorms are very strong this season. Even if you have bird-beastmen, you can easily get caught in them."
Hearing this, Haitang nodded. "We'll go back to the tribe tomorrow, you can rest there." She looked at Yueyue and said, and Yueyue hesitated for a moment.
“Okay.” Lizard Ming nodded and left without saying anything. Haitang looked at Yueyue, who said, “I just saw that there are several tribes around. You can go and take a look at the lizard tribe. They won’t dare to do anything since you just taught them how to grill fish.”
When she heard this, Haitang nodded and did not refute Yueyue. Yueyue had her own considerations. In fact, although Haitang was older than Yueyue, Yueyue was more knowledgeable in handling things when they were out in the world.
Especially regarding the handling of orcs, Haitang felt that Yueyue's advice was the best. When they went to the lizard tribe, Haitang followed behind Yueyue, and people from the tribe not far away ran out.
Seeing that Lizard Ming and his companions had very few prey, each of them revealed an indescribable disappointment. When they saw Haitang and the others, the lizardmen nodded and looked at Haitang. "They are just travelers passing by."
Haitang's face was covered in powder, making her look different from her initial fair complexion. She appeared much rougher, and her clothes were loose and baggy, belonging to Yueyue.
Although she still has her looks, she's quite ordinary now compared to the fairy-like girl she was at the beginning. However, she's still much prettier than the female lizards.
At the very least, Haitang looks beautiful overall, while the female lizards, apart from their height, are probably the only other way to tell they are female.
Haitang and the others were travelers. Ximing arranged their lodgings, and Haitang also discovered that the tribe shared their hunts and ate together.
Haitang glanced around but didn't say much. The place they stayed was a small thatched hut, which was terribly hot. After taking a sip of water, Haitang looked outside.
Although there were plants, they were not lush, and everyone's face was somewhat lifeless.
The hunters returned today, and the tribe began distributing food. There were several hunting teams, but none of them brought back much.
There is a stream in front of the village. Today, Lizard Ming led people to catch fish and eat fish... Gatherings are something no one likes. After watching Lizard Ming and the others clean up, both the females and the beastmen were unhappy.
However, they didn't say much. Haitang and the others didn't participate and didn't know that the lizardmen had all changed after eating the cleaned fish.
