When Haitang saw the child Shishui was holding, she immediately got up and ran over to check on him. The child had a fever, but it wasn't a big problem. However, in this era, a fever could be fatal.
"Is something wrong with Tangtang?" Shi Shui asked, extremely worried. He was afraid the child would die last year, but after being cared for, she gradually became plump and healthy. However, he didn't expect her to catch a cold in early winter.
When Haitang heard this, she immediately said, "Nothing will happen." Fortunately, the orc child was in good health. Giving him medicine and good food would prevent any major problems. She then went to get the medicine.
"Second Uncle, take this and go make a soup. Xiaohe, can you help me?" Haitang said to Xiaohe as she got up. Xiaohe nodded and quickly followed. Haitang started using a towel to cool down the child.

Just then, Xiuxiu arrived, fully clothed and trudging through the thick snow. "Are the children alright? Is Xiaoyao alright?"
"Third Aunt, have a sip of ginger soup before you talk." Haitang asked Xiaohe to make ginger soup, and then told her about the child. "The child is not seriously injured. He will be fine after taking some medicine and the fever will go down."
"Really?" Xiuxiu cried when she heard this. She was heartbroken for her little baby. She had been taking care of him these past few days, giving him sugar water and having plenty of breast milk thanks to Haitang's help. She thought that the child might even become a beast in the future, but she never expected him to fall ill.
"Of course, don't worry too much." Haitang nodded and said that the child was brought in early, and since the beastman's physique was good, there was really no problem. They just lowered his temperature, and as long as the temperature was successfully lowered, there would be no major issues.
Xiuxiu nodded upon hearing this, "That's good." She breathed a sigh of relief. Shishui brought over the medicine, and Haitang gave it to the child. The medicine was the mildest, just in case the child couldn't handle it.
The child fell into a drowsy sleep after taking the medicine. Haitang went to the room to get some sugar, boiled it in water, and gave some to the child to drink. After watching the child drink the sugar water, Xiuxiu breathed a sigh of relief, as the child did not vomit.
“Third Aunt, if the child gets sick again, you should bring him here as soon as possible. If you delay, the child will die. It’s not convenient to take the child back now, so let him stay for a few more days,” Haitang said. The weather outside was icy and snowy, and the back and forth wind was making the child uncomfortable.
Xiuxiu nodded upon hearing this, and when she looked at the child, she pursed her lips. "Um... Tangtang... your third uncle and I are going back now. We'll come to see the child again tomorrow." She still had several children at home who were on her mind.
Hearing this, Haitang nodded, while Xiuxiu went back with Shishui. Shishui hugged Xiuxiu, and Xiuxiu, with red eyes, said, "I used to feel sorry for that child, but now I realize that I was just being petty."
At first, Xiuxiu was wary of her husband bringing food to Haitang, because she was afraid that if the food was given away, her family would go hungry. She kept it to herself and didn't dare let her husband care about others. Now she didn't expect that when she got into trouble, it was all because of Haitang's help.
"Don't overthink it. We'll help Tangtang out if she needs anything later." Hearing this, Xiuxiu nodded, and Shishui glanced at Haitang's side.
"Spring is here, so I'm moving my family to a new place. They're building houses for us in this area too," he said, looking into the distance. His family's thatched house was leaking badly, and it was old enough to need replacing.
Next spring, he will build a few houses around Haitang, so that they can take care of each other if anything happens. What's more, he realized today that his niece is more capable than him, so getting closer to her won't be a problem.
Hearing this, Xiuxiu nodded. When Xiuxiu went back, all the children had new clothes and were wearing fur coats, but they were still very cold. She looked at the shoes in Haitang's house and decided to make a few pairs today.
Xiuxiu went to get some food, and Shishui immediately helped. "How is your little brother?" The children asked about Xiaoyao'er, and when they heard Xiuxiu say that Xiaoyao'er was much better, they all breathed a sigh of relief.
Haitang has a child at home. It's not that she wants to take on everything, but because she has a life to live and the child can't eat much, she stays behind to make soy milk and cook some meat noodles for the child.
