Chapter 97 Ginseng

One tree occupied an entire area, and it was laden with lychees. Even if Haitang and the others came every day, it would take them two or three days to pick them all.

Yesterday there were fewer baskets, but today everyone took quite a few. "Changning, take these home. If you can't finish them, dry them in the sun. You can use them for cooking or as snacks in the winter,"

"Okay, I understand, sister," Changning nodded, offering lychees to her younger sister, who nodded and ate them, one on top and one below.

Since there was no way to throw it away, we used a tree hook to hang it down. Haitang and another little female started to catch it. After they caught it, they carried it to the side of my carriage. Daha also came and was getting close to Erha.

The two brothers wag their tails enthusiastically when they meet. Little Ha is a female wolf and has gone out with Dongfang Longshi Hu. Shi Hu knows that Haitang has gone far away, so he takes the thinner Little Ha with him, while the stronger Erha stays with Haitang.

While Haitang was carrying the fruit, she placed it directly on the car and sat down to rest. Changning was eating lychees nearby, so Haitang gave the two children some rice balls she had made. "Thank you, sister,"

Changning and her younger sister Changhua were both very well-behaved. While eating, they were shy. Haitang gently ruffled Changhua's hair. After eating, Changning and the others started preparing food again.

Haitang also started digging for medicinal herbs. When she heard that the lychees were coming down, she went to pick them up. When she returned with her basket on her back, she didn't expect to see Erha and Daha digging in the soil.

Haitang ran over to take a look, immediately dropping what she was holding and rushing over. "Get out of the way, stop digging!"

It was ginseng. This was the first time Haitang had ever seen such a large ginseng, which looked to be about two or three pounds in size. Haitang quickly and carefully began to dig it up.

"Sister..." Yueyue called from not far away. Haitang was a little anxious because she hadn't returned for a long time, and Changhua was also surprised.

"I'll go take a look," Yueyue nodded upon hearing this. When she went to check, she saw Haitang carefully digging something. "Sister Tangtang, what are you doing?"

“We’ve dug up some medicinal herbs; they’re treasures. You all take your time picking lychees. It’ll take me quite a while to dig these treasures out,” Haitang said.

Although she gave up practicing medicine, she still loved medicinal herbs, especially ginseng. Its eyes were incredibly bright; after eating it, it was said that transforming into a beast like Starry Night and Moon was not a dream, and even the Eastern Dragon could achieve stable beast transformation.

Haitang couldn't help but lick her lips. Changhua blinked, but didn't say anything. She went back to tell the others. Hearing this, Yueyue nodded and started working. Xingxing started receiving things.

After they could fit the carriage any more, the group ran to check on Haitang, who was still digging in the soil. "Sister, it's getting dark. Can't we come back tomorrow?"

“No, if we come tomorrow, this thing will be eaten by wild animals. We have to dig it out today. You guys dig over there,” Haitang said. “Be careful not to hurt the herbs with your claws.”

"..." Before her claws even emerged, Xingxingyue felt that her older sister preferred medicinal herbs to her. When Haitang started digging, she looked at Changning.

"You can go back first, otherwise your second aunt will worry," Haitang said, looking at the two of them. Ginseng is something that can easily lose its medicinal properties if it is not dug out carefully.

Haitang needed to be careful, so she was quite meticulous while digging. Hearing this, Changning shook her head. "Let's wait for Sister to go back together," Haitang said, but remained silent.

Instead of talking, let's get to work. After digging them out, let Yueyue take off her undergarments. Yueyue looked at her sister with a wronged expression. "Sister really does love that radish more,"

“Brother…don’t be sad, I like you,” Xingxing said. “Or I can take my clothes off…”

Yueyue took off her clothes herself, and Haitang held them in her arms and sat down next to the car with the other children.

“Silly boy, this thing is a treasure. You’ll see when we get back,” Haitang said. Xingxing and Yueyue nodded in agreement.

On the way back, Dongfang Long happened to come looking for someone. Seeing him, Haitang jumped off the carriage and immediately pounced on him. "Little Long, look what I found!"

"Tree roots?" Dongfang Long blinked and asked, while Haitang glared at him.

“It’s ginseng. Eating this will allow you to transform into a beast. No… you don’t even need to finish eating it to transform,” Haitang said. “Aren’t you happy?”

"Hmm, but why are you back so late? I was worried if it encountered any wild animals," Dongfang Long said, ruffling Haitang's hair despite being pleased.

He and Shi Hu were so worried that they ran out to check on the person, only to find out it was about the ginseng. Although they were happy that he could transform into a beast, the problem was... they were even more worried about whether something would happen to Haitang.

"Father..." Haitang was slightly taken aback when she looked at Shi Hu, who chuckled.

“Now that you have a man, you’ve forgotten your father. Let’s go back, Yueyue,” Shi Hu said. Haitang watched him storm off, feeling a little helpless.

I was so happy to see Dongfang Long walking over just now; I really missed my dad.

Haitang ran up to him, a little helpless, and said in a coquettish tone, "Dad, look, this thing isn't just for Little Dragon to use. Xingxing and Yueyue can also eat some to transform into beasts. The transformation will definitely be twice as successful as it was at the beginning."

Upon hearing this, Shi Hu looked at Haitang. "You silly girl, don't come home too late next time. Your father doesn't want to hear about what happened last time,"

He was terribly worried when the last ferocious beast entered the tribe's gathering area. Hearing this, Haitang nodded and followed Dongfang Long and the others back. Haitang carefully dried the medicinal herbs, afraid that there might be problems with them. She also warned the wolf not to mess around.

Even when going out, she would carefully tell Xiaohe what to do. While sitting in the car, Haitang was a little happy that the ginseng weighed more than three pounds and was several thousand years old.
