Chapter 22 Changing Mother An’s Cooking Habits (2/2)

"Mom, what delicious food have you made?" The fourth child rushed into the kitchen.

When Mother An saw the fourth child come in, she looked back and asked, "Why are you alone?"

"They're all behind me. I'm going to run back to see if the food we cook smells so good. It's definitely ours."

"Hmph, how can it not smell good? Your third sister-in-law cooked the meal today. It almost emptied my oil tank." Mother An felt so distressed when she saw the layer of oil in the dish basin. She could even cook with this oil in the evening.

But An's mother thought too much and couldn't stay until the evening.

"Third sister-in-law, you have this skill!" The fourth sister was so surprised. Even her wife couldn't make the food taste this good.

"Fourth brother, cherish it. I guess mother won't let me into the kitchen anymore." Feng Jiaojiao knew very well that she didn't see the look on her mother-in-law's face. She was teetering on the edge of death.

There's no other way. She is really trying hard to cure her stuttering.

"Humph, quite self-aware!"

An's mother discovered that Feng Jiaojiao was just pretending to be ignorant. She was not only a spoiled little ancestor, but also a piece of ass. She could not be beaten or scolded, and there was nothing she could do.

She clearly told me that there was too much oil and that I should pour out some of it, but they just put the food directly into the pot.

"Mom, this is the first time I cook to honor you. You have to eat more later!" Feng Jiaojiao directly turned her greed into honoring her mother-in-law.

The corners of An's mother's mouth twitched. Why did she not believe it?

"No, Mom, look how well Third Sister-in-law does, otherwise..." The fourth brother felt that Third Sister-in-law was the savior of the family. The taste of her stir-fried dishes was comparable to those in state-owned restaurants.

"Get out of here, get out of here! You want to eat so much that you'll have a sore neck for the rest of the year? Just keep eating like this." An's mother had to calculate the expenses of the whole family. If they continued to eat like this, they would go bankrupt.

"Hehe, just pretend I didn't say anything." The fourth brother decided that he must eat more later, otherwise he would have no chance.

An Jianjun didn't say a word. He was thinking about what to do in the future. After all, his wife didn't look like someone who would treat him badly.

But this big family, with about twenty people in total, is really not easy to take care of.

Should he tell his parents about the situation at home? But when he thought of Feng Jiaojiao's personality, he was worried about her living alone without someone to take care of her at home.

An Jianjun didn't know that he was becoming more and more worried about Feng Jiaojiao.

The more you care about someone, the deeper your feelings will be.

When it was time to eat, there was a lot of chaos. Even Jiabao, who had always asked Mrs. An to pick up the food for him, started to do it himself, for fear that if he was slow, the food would be snatched away by his sisters.

"Third sister-in-law, you still have your merits. This dish is really good!" Mrs. An was a greedy person. When she saw such a greasy dish, she was not polite. She picked up a chopstick for her son and the man, and picked up a big chopstick for herself.

"Eat before you shut up, and wash the dishes after dinner!"

"Why, Mom? It's not my turn today." As soon as the work was mentioned, Mrs. An refused to work because it was not her turn today.

"Because you eat the most!"

Mother An frowned as she watched the eldest son's wife eat, as if she hadn't eaten good food in a hundred years. Is her cooking so bad?

Father An saw that the children were eating with relish, and his sons and daughters-in-law were also enjoying the meal, and he realized that the dishes usually cooked by his wife were too plain.

"Old lady, let's put more meat in our dishes from now on. The children are growing up and the adults are tired from work. Eating well can replenish their bodies."

But it’s not the old woman’s fault. Having experienced famine, how could she not prepare for a rainy day?

The old woman was frugal, fearing that something bad might happen and so many people in the family would go hungry. Having money in hand was not a problem, and saving money to leave a way out for herself was a habit ingrained in them.

Mother An wanted to say something, but when she saw her children and grandchildren eating so happily at the table, she finally nodded.

As soon as Feng Jiaojiao came home, she changed An's mother's cooking habits that she had had for many years.

Feng Jiaojiao smiled with her lips pursed, like a little mouse stealing some fish. Finally, she didn't have to eat so hard anymore. This was the first step in her success.

In the end, the oil at the bottom of the dish was not left because everyone mixed it with rice and ate it, and everyone was very satisfied.

In the era of material poverty, it is so easy to be satisfied. As long as the family is healthy and everyone can have a delicious meal, this is happiness.
