Chapter 252: A Heartless Person
"Momo, who is she? Why is she so rude?" Kang Mingyuan asked.
"My godfather's blood niece is a heartless person." Qiao Mo said with a sneer.
"You're talking nonsense..." Wu Weiwei didn't expect Qiao Mo to dare to scold her in front of her.
"What did I say wrong? Was it that your family didn't publish an announcement in the newspaper to distance themselves from my godfather's family when he was in trouble? Was it that you didn't bring people to raid their house? Or was it that you didn't ask them to arrange for you two siblings to go to college?" Qiao Mo asked back.
"This is our Wu family's daughter. What does it have to do with you, our goddaughter who was adopted halfway through?" Wu Weiwei was furious.
"Since your problems have nothing to do with me, why do you come to provoke me? Do you think I'm a soft persimmon that you can pinch whenever you meet me?" Qiao Mo asked sternly.
"No matter what, the Wu family is a whole. We did that just to protect ourselves. I believe that my uncle will forgive us one day. As an outsider, it's best not to get involved too much, otherwise you will be in trouble both inside and outside." Wu Weiwei said with his chin raised.
"The grievances between you Wu family are decided by Professor Wu and his wife. It has nothing to do with Qiao Mo. What do you mean by pestering Qiao Mo now? Do you think she is easy to bully?" Kang Mingyuan stood up and his aura changed. He turned from the gentle big brother next door into a cold and stern iceberg.
Wu Weiwei felt the temperature around her drop several degrees. She shivered with cold, and felt as if a mountain was pressing down on her, making it hard for her to breathe. "I just don't like it when I see her squandering my uncle's money."
"Why do you think the money she has belongs to your uncle?" Kang Mingyuan's face turned even uglier. He was a grown man sitting here, so why should Qiao Mo pay for it? Besides, Qiao Mo's own wallet was full. It was just a meal, why did he need the Wu family's money?
"She is a poor student from the countryside. She can't even afford the tuition. How can she get the money to eat and drink here?" Wu Weiwei said, suppressing the fear in his heart.
"What an ignorant loser! I, Kang, treat friends to a meal at a state-owned restaurant and still expect them to pay?" After saying that, Kang Mingyuan placed a stack of big unity notes on the table and turned to Qiao Mo, saying, "Mo Mo, what else do you want to eat? Brother Yuan will treat you."
"No, Brother Yuan, there's no need to argue with an idiot, otherwise it will lower your IQ." Qiao Mo looked at Wu Weiwei, whose face was ashen, and signaled Kang Mingyuan to put the money away.
"Brother Yuan is wrong, Mo Mo is right. There's no need to argue with an idiot." Upon hearing this, Kang Mingyuan immediately put away the money on the table, turned around and snorted at Wu Weiwei, "Stop hanging around in front of Qiao Mo in the future. Get lost!"
Wu Weiwei felt as if thunder had exploded in her ears, making her dizzy and her mouth taste fishy and sweet, and she spat out a mouthful of blood.
"Weiwei, what's wrong with you?" A woman following behind her hurriedly supported her and glared at Kang Mingyuan fiercely.
"Cousin, let's go back." Wu Weiwei not only had a splitting headache, but also a fishy and sweet taste in his throat. How could he dare to stay?
The woman glanced at Kang Mingyuan and Qiao Mo, as if she wanted to remember them, and then she helped Wu Weiwei away. When the other women saw them leave, they looked at Qiao Mo and followed them.
"What a bummer, Brother Yuan. The food won't taste good if it gets cold." Qiao Mo invited Kang Mingyuan to sit down and continue eating.
"Well, come, have a lion's head dish. Although it's not as famous as the stinky tofu and fried long-bone fish, it tastes pretty good." Kang Mingyuan picked up a lion's head dish for her.
"It tastes great, worthy of being made by the royal chef." Qiao Mo took a bite of the lion's head and thought it tasted good, at least better than what she made herself.
