Chapter 295 Reward
"Qiao Mo, what are you doing?" Qiao Mo was immersed in translation. Shen Xue came over with her son and asked her when she saw her writing something quickly.
"I'm helping Teacher Yang translate some information." Qiao Mo answered while writing, and then smiled at Little Star, "Little Star, are you full?"
"Auntie, I'm full." Little Xingxing smiled shyly, but he was much more cheerful than when he first came.
"Little Star is so good." Qiao Mo stopped and took out a comic book from his schoolbag and gave it to him, "Little Star, read this during class."
"Thank you, Auntie. Little Star will take good care of the book and won't tear it." Little Star's eyes lit up and he made assurances repeatedly as he took the comic book.
"You are such a naughty boy. After you finish reading this one, come and exchange it with your aunt for another one." Qiao Mo smiled and nodded at him.
She had collected these comic books when she was looking for something at the Hongshan Town Purchasing Station. They were all incomplete sets and had no collection value, so she didn't think much of them. But she didn't say she wanted to give them to him, as she didn't want to add to Shen Xue's psychological burden.
Wanting to buy comic books, she decided to find an opportunity to go to the purchasing station where Qiao Chengting worked to see if she could collect a complete set of comic books. Those things were just scraps worth a few cents per pound now, but they could be exchanged for a small sum of money in ten or twenty years.
"Tang." Little Star's eyes were shining, and she looked at Qiao Mo with a sweet smile.
Shen Xue was happy to see her son happy, and she thanked Qiao Mo with a smile.
Qiao Mo shook his head to indicate that he was welcome and continued translating the materials. He did not stop until the bell rang and put the materials and manuscript paper into his schoolbag.
After class, Qiao Mo went to the cafeteria with Shen Xue and her son. She still asked Shen Xue and her son to reserve seats while she went to get the food.
"Qiao Mo, please make us three taels of rice, one serving of pickled mustard greens and shredded pork, and one serving of shredded potatoes."
"Yes." Qiao Mo nodded as he went to line up.
When it was Qiao Mo's turn, she first served food to Shen Xue, and then served herself three taels of rice and a bowl of shredded potatoes. In fact, she preferred to eat leafy vegetables, but after seeing the pot of boiled cabbage, she lost her appetite and had to change to shredded potatoes.
After putting the food on the table, Qiao Mo took out a small bottle of fried fish with dry red peppers from his schoolbag, picked up two pieces for Shen Xue, put half of them on the rice and started to eat them in big mouthfuls.
"You eat more than Sister Xue and her mother. Were you a pig in your previous life?" At this time, a harsh voice sounded.
Seeing that it was Huang Liying's mad dog again, Qiao Mo couldn't help but snarl, "Your mouth is filled with feces, it stinks the moment you open your mouth. And, did I eat your rice? Do you still care how much I eat?"
"You..." Huang Liying just wanted to say something sarcastic when she saw how unhappy she was eating, but she didn't expect her to just come at her without caring.
"What do you mean by 'you'? It's my blessing that I have a big appetite. I didn't borrow money from you to eat, let alone beg at your door. What qualifications do you have to scold me?" Qiao Mo stood up and stared down at her, the anger in his eyes seemed to burn her to ashes.
"I didn't scold you, I was just joking. Do you think it's fun to make such a big deal out of it?" Huang Liying saw many students looking at her, and explained with a flushed face.
