Chapter 398: Incompetence (2/2)

This park is not much different from the park in Donghai, except that the species of trees and grasses are different.

"Little sister, let's go boating." Wu Weijin pointed to the small boat in Renwu Lake and said, he remembered that when his parents took him and his brother to the park when they were young, boating was a fixed activity.

Yang Weihua and Qiao Mo didn't object, so Wu Weijin went to rent a small boat with four seats: "Little sister, Weihua, get on board."

Three people got on the boat. Yang Weihua and Wu Weijin sat in the front row, each holding an oar to row, while Qiao Mo sat at the stern to steer the boat for them. However, none of the three rowed seriously, and the water was not good either, so the boat started to spin in the center of the lake. It took a long time before they got the hang of it and could make the boat go wherever they wanted.

"Let's stop playing and go back." The three of them rowed a small boat in the lake for more than half an hour and then felt it was boring.

"Let's row the boat back slowly. It'll take exactly an hour." Wu Weijin looked at his watch and said, "Little sister, steer the boat well and don't let it go in circles. Otherwise, we'll be charged an extra half hour."

"Got it, cousin, second brother, you guys should row too and move the boat forward."

The three of them rowed the boat back to the dock, laughing and joking. It was five minutes before the scheduled time. Wu Weijin handed over the boat, went to get the deposit back, and then left the park.

"Little sister, where are you going now?"

"It's getting late, let's go have lunch." Qiao Mo suggested when he saw it was almost twelve o'clock.

"Yes, there seem to be two small restaurants opposite the park, but they look like private ones, so I don't know how the food is." Wu Weijin nodded.

"It's a good opportunity to go and see the private restaurants and see how they differ from state-owned ones." Yang Weihua thought for a while and said, in Donghai, there are no private shops yet. It seems that people from Southern Province are bolder than those from Donghai. In terms of reform and opening up, they have already taken a step ahead. As the saying goes, one step ahead leads to all steps. If the people from Donghai don't catch up quickly, they will soon be surpassed by Southern Province.

Qiao Mo didn't know that Yang Weihua had thought so much about a small private restaurant, so she followed them into the small restaurant.

Although the restaurant is small, it is clean inside, and the tables are covered with blue checkered tablecloths, which not only adds a bit of elegance to the restaurant, but also raises its level.

"Please sit here, all three of you." As they entered the shop, a waiter about seventeen or eighteen years old came up to them with a smile, took them to a seat by the window, poured them some tea, gave them some sunflower seeds, and then took out the menu for them to order.

"Little sister, order whatever you want." Wu Weijin and Yang Weihua didn't know Chaozhou cuisine, so they gave the task of ordering to Qiao Mo.

Qiao Mo took a look at the menu. Perhaps because it was made of raw materials, there were only a few specialties from Southern Province, and the rest were mostly vegetarian dishes. She ordered a braised platter, a braised pork with preserved vegetables, a prawn and a heart of Chinese cabbage with garlic, and the side dish was rice.

"Brother, cousin, would you like some soda?" Qiao Mo asked when he saw there were alcoholic drinks on the back of the menu.

"No need." Both of them shook their heads. They saw the menu. The soda here was much more expensive than outside. They could eat it anytime they wanted. There was no need to buy expensive food here.
