Chapter 52: The New Home is Named Utopia
The lush and verdant forest is covered with luxuriant branches and leaves. The summer sky is deep blue and even the air is fresh and sweet. The fruits in the orchard are scrambling to climb up the branches. The sun seems to have regained its youth, with a rosy face and a scorching gaze that is so dazzling that the white clouds in the sky blush instantly. Ziyi's face also blushed at this time, but the culprit had no idea of his guilt at all.
It turned out that Ziyi and Yike had been waiting on a tree next to the paddy field before dawn, trying to track where the geese in the nest went to find food during the day, and wanted to use this goose to catch more geese.
Originally, Ziyi and Yike each sat on a tree branch, but the early summer morning was still cold. Ziyi felt sorry for Yike, so he held Yike in his arms to keep her warm. At first I didn't think anything of it, but Yi was not obedient and moved around while sitting on Ziyi's legs. Now Ziyi got angry and his face turned red.
Fortunately, the geese in the nest saw the sun coming out, so they walked out of the nest with their heads held high, without looking around.
Ziyi let out a long sigh, and he and Yike slid down from the tree, following the direction of the geese along the stream.
The geese swam upstream, passed the orchard, and turned a corner. The stream in front narrowed, and the weeds and bushes on both sides stretched out their branches and entangled with each other.
The river surface was covered with weeds and bushes. Ziyi and Yike took great effort to get out of the weeds, but the goose was nowhere to be seen.
A frustrated hammer said, "What should I do? Should I keep looking for it?"
"Of course we have to look for it. It shouldn't be able to swim far, so there's no need to rush." Ziyi led the way and continued walking along the stream. The stream is winding, sometimes wide and sometimes narrow. Ziyi and Yike discovered that the stream flowed around the mountain, and they couldn't help but make bold guesses in their minds.
Sure enough, after going around a mountain wall, the stream reached its end and the water flowed out from a crack in the mountain wall.
The crack was less than half a meter wide, and stream water flowed out of it, forming a pool of water. The pool was so deep that the bottom could not be seen. The pond is not wide, less than ten square meters. Ziyi and Yike didn’t see the goose. Where did it go?
"How could it disappear? We have looked carefully along the way, how could it disappear?" Yi Ke asked curiously.
"How strange, could it have run into the bushes?" Ziyi said.
"Impossible. The weeds are so dense and the geese are so proud, they won't lower their heads to drill into them." I didn't believe it.
"Then where did it go? It can't have gone into the mountain." As soon as Ziyi finished speaking, both of them looked towards the crack.
"It's really possible that he got in." Yike said. "How about we go in and take a look?"
"Okay! I'll go take a look. You wait for me outside." Ziyi said.
"No, I want to go too."
"Be obedient, I'm at ease with you outside." Ziyi took a long stick and knocked on the rock wall around the crack, which was very solid. He tentatively walked into the crack.
Yike watched Ziyi walk into the crack and was extremely worried, but he didn't dare to go in rashly. What if something happened to both of them inside? Uncle Hao and the others won’t know, so it’s right to leave one person outside.
"Yike, come in, there's no danger. I found the goose." Ziyi came out and said.
“It’s really in there.”
"Yes, you will know when you go in and see. I don't know how to describe it." Ziyi pulled Yike and walked towards the crack.
Looking at the crack from a distance, you might think it is a real crack. In fact, it is a hole like a crack, but there is a crack above your head, just like a crack in the sky. After walking in for about a hundred meters, the crack began to get bigger and bigger. When we reached a distance of more than three hundred meters, the view in front of us suddenly became bright and a huge lake came into view. There are blue sky and white clouds above my head and clear green lake water below my feet. The lake water is sparkling, and a dozen white geese are wandering leisurely, like white clouds in the sky drifting in the wind.
This lake is like an artificial lake embedded in the mountains. The rocks on the lakeshore protrude like the dam of an artificial lake. Tall trees grow close to the mountain wall. These trees are very similar to the hardest ironwood trees. The largest tree probably requires several people to hug it. Even the smallest tree trunk requires a person to stretch out his arms to hug it. Looking up along the mountain wall, you can see steep rock walls everywhere.
I couldn't help but admire the magic of nature.
"Ziyi, have we arrived at a paradise on earth? Do you want to go and see if there is a peach garden?" Yi Ke asked jokingly.
"It's possible. Look across."
"Oh! There really are peach trees! Are the peach trees in our orchard the ones that spread out from here? There should also be pear trees and apricot trees." Yike excitedly took Ziyi's hand and walked towards the other side along the mountain wall.
The lake is very large, probably more than ten acres in size, but this open-air cave is even larger, at least seventy or eighty acres if not a hundred acres. It was as if the entire mountain had been hollowed out.
There is almost no weeds on the shore of the lake and the ground is rocky. No wonder the goose has to lay eggs outside. It turns out there is no grass here to build a nest.
After passing the ironwood forest, there was a large flat stone slab in front of us, which was almost an acre in size. There was not a single weed on the stone slab, only some fine sand with some feathers floating on it.
After walking across this flat land, you will find a small valley that is sunken inward. There are peach trees and pear trees growing on the periphery of the valley, but no apricot trees. There are a few plum trees though.
Water seeps out from the rock wall at the innermost part of the valley. A large stream of water gushes out from under the rock wall, flows along the stone ditch to the lake, and then flows out of the mountain along the cracks to form a small stream. If it weren't for the search for the goose, how could I have discovered that the source of the stream is such a paradise.
"If I had discovered this place in the beginning, I would definitely choose to settle down here." Yike thought to himself.
"Yike, look at that rock wall and see if it's black cloud grass growing on it?" Ziyi pointed to the middle of the rock wall.
"Really? But how can I pick them when they are so high up?" Yi Ke looked up and saw that the yellow-green flowers blooming on the stone wall near the valley were indeed black cloud grass.
Black cloud grass, formerly known as Dendrobium officinale, is an herbaceous plant of the orchid family. It tastes sweet and is cold in nature. After taking it, it can not only nourish the yin energy in the body, but also promote the secretion of body fluids. First, it has the effect of nourishing yin and clearing away heat; second, it can enhance physical fitness; third, it can promote digestion; fourth, it can prevent cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases.
In ancient times, royal nobles revered it as a holy health product; Taoist medicine listed it as the first of the nine immortal herbs; due to its irreplaceability and scarcity, it is also called "gold among medicines." Here is a large piece of gold.
“In fact, the golden finger given to her by the time-travelling god should be good luck.” Yike thought to herself.
"Let's go back first and come pick it with Uncle Hao tomorrow. Or we can wait until it grows and pick it when needed." Ziyi said.
"Ziyi, what do you think about bringing in the harvested rice to dry? Look at that flat stone floor, we can just sweep the sand away, how convenient." Yike said.
"Yes! Let's make a bamboo raft and use it to transport the rice after it is harvested. It just so happens that the rice fields are close to the stream." Ziyi immediately thought of a means of transportation.
"Okay! Let's build a few more bamboo houses, and then we can live in both the paradise and here." It's so beautiful just thinking about it!
That night Ziyi and Yike rested in this paradise. A simple wooden house was built under the iron tree. The roof was covered with banana leaves from outside, and the surrounding walls were also surrounded by banana leaves. As long as there was no strong wind, it could basically be lived in.
The goose returned to its grass nest on the other side of the paddy field at night. Ziyi decided to let it go and not catch it for the time being, letting it hatch goslings smoothly, and then bring the goslings back to the lake. Finally, a fence gate was installed at the crack so that they could not escape.
Ziyi and Yike discussed building a goose shed first so that the geese that wanted to lay eggs would no longer have to sneak outside to lay eggs.
The next day, Ziyi and Yike hurried back to their home in Dongtianfudi. They wanted to tell the good news of discovering this paradise, and also to build a goose shed with Li Haoran. This place will be their second home, and they decided to name it "Xanadu".
"Brother Ziyi, I want to name this place Paradise, okay? This is our second home."
"Okay, I have no problem with you if you like it."
"It's settled then, haha, so happy, we'll have two homes."
"Yike, are you tired? How about I carry you back?"
"Okay, I'm not tired, but I like Brother Ziyi to carry me on his back."
Ziyi squatted down, Yike jumped onto Ziyi's back, hugged Ziyi's neck, and the two happily ran towards the paradise...
