Suddenly, a rustling sound came from the woods.
Upon hearing this, Shen Miao's expression changed drastically. She pulled the children up and protected them behind her. At the same time, more than a dozen pairs of eerie green eyes appeared not far away.
It was a huge pack of wolves.
Wolves like to roam in packs, and once they target an orc, the orc usually has to pay a price, some even dying on the spot.
Shen Miao never expected that she would encounter a pack of wolves today.
Unlike Shen Miao, who was on high alert, Er Bao was only excited and couldn't wait to rush into the wolf pack and have a good fight. Shen Miao stopped him and scolded him in a low voice, "Er Bao, what did I say when we came here?"
"I'll follow Mother's orders." Erbao lowered his head.
Shen Miao dared not relax for a moment: "Just remember that. Listen, the wolves are very strong. I'll be with you later. We'll take down as many as we can. If we can't, we'll kill the alpha wolf first."
The children were excited and said in unison, "Okay, we'll listen to Mother."
Shen Miao glanced worriedly at Sanbao and Sibao, who had no power whatsoever. The two little ones were gripping their wooden spears tightly, their little faces stern, looking ready for battle, showing no fear what Shen Miao had imagined.
They're all pretty bold; they're all the offspring of major villains.
The wolves looked extremely hungry and didn't stand in confrontation with Shen Miao and the others for long before attacking one after another.
"Little ones, use your old methods to surround and kill it!" Shen Miao shouted sharply, blocking the charging wolf pack herself and letting one go for her cubs to surround and kill.
The cubs dared not let their guard down; they only wanted to quickly deal with the wolf and then go help their mother.
Shen Miao was surrounded by several wolves, and the situation was quite dire. Da Bao and Er Bao used their abilities to injure the charging wolves, and then went together to help Shen Miao.
This battle was so fierce that it caused chaos and devastation.
The children were experiencing such a cruel hunt for the first timeāno, it couldn't even be called hunting anymore, it was more like being hunted by the prey. At first, they were all a little scared, but because their mother was always by their side, they gradually relaxed.
Shen Miao not only had to deal with the wolf pack, but also had to keep an eye on the cubs, fearing that they might be injured by the wolves when she wasn't paying attention.
The alpha wolf stared fiercely at Shen Miao, judging that this female beast was the most threatening. It slowly paced around to Shen Miao's back, and then suddenly pounced.
Shen Miao had her back to the alpha wolf and was unaware of what was happening behind her.
Da Bao turned his head and saw it, his pupils contracted, and he shouted, "Mommy, be careful!"
A blade of wind flew from his fingertip, carrying killing intent as it headed straight for the alpha wolf. One of the alpha wolf's eyes was pierced, and it let out a shrill scream. The wolf's ferocity grew, and it risked injury to charge directly at Da Bao.
Da Bao rolled on the spot and dodged in time, but a small piece of flesh was torn off his arm by the wolf's claws. He lay on the ground, exhausted, and could no longer get up.
Knowing he wouldn't gain any advantage today, the alpha wolf let out a long howl and led his wolves into the forest, disappearing in the blink of an eye.
Once Shen Miao was sure there was no more danger around, she ran over and picked up Da Bao, anxiously asking, "Da Bao, how are you? Where are you hurt?"
Her hands were trembling, and her face was pale with fright.
If Da Bao gets hurt while saving her, then she doesn't need to go back to see Qing Chen; she might as well just commit suicide.
Da Bao breathed weakly, "No, it's nothing. I just got a little hurt in my arm. Also, I don't have the strength to control the wind right now."
"This is normal, Da Bao. It's because you used too much energy. You'll be fine once you recover. Let me take a look at your wound." Shen Miao carefully peeled off Da Bao's animal skin, revealing a bloody claw mark on his arm.
She couldn't help but hiss.
It must have hurt terribly to have it scratched like that, but Da Bao, at such a young age, was able to endure it, probably because he didn't want her to worry.
Instantly, her heart softened.
Shen Miao held Da Bao's hand and slowly transferred her supernatural power to him. Da Bao suddenly felt that his wounds were not so painful and his body felt very comfortable. He couldn't help but lean against Shen Miao and rub against her.
Shen Miao then checked on the other three babies. Fortunately, Er Bao and the others were all fine and very excited, leaving Shen Miao speechless.
On the way back, Erbao kept asking when they would come back to the mountain to hunt again. Shenmiao could only tell him to focus on improving his skills and come back to the mountain to hunt when he had the chance.
"Then I'll practice hard, and Mom will take me up the mountain soon!"
Shen Miao had no idea where this little cub got such a strong obsession with hunting; it was probably the innate desire for conquest inherent in orcs.
This is especially evident in Erbao.
As they neared home, Shen Miao couldn't help but glance back at Da Bao. She felt a little guilty; if Qing Chen knew that Da Bao had gotten injured while following her up the mountain, he would probably scold her again.
"Daddy, we're back!" Sanbao ran towards home first.
Pushing open the door, he saw a beastman kneeling before his father, covered in blood and begging for mercy. Sanbao paused for a moment, then carefully walked around the beastman to Qingchen and asked curiously, "Daddy, who is that?"
Shen Miao and the other children also came in, and were surprised for a moment when they saw the scene in the courtyard.
Qingchen said casually, "It's nothing, just a petty thief."
"Daddy, what did he steal from our house?" Da Bao asked.
Qingchen pointed to the snow wolf beside him and said, "It."
The little snow wolf has actually grown up. Standing there, he's as tall as Xiao Sibao, with a full coat of white fur, looking majestic and almost as tall as his mother, which is truly enviable.
"How dare you steal my little snow wolf!" Erbao rushed forward and kicked the orc over.
The orc was already badly injured by Qingchen, and then he was beaten by Erbao. He didn't dare to say anything, but just begged for mercy and asked Qingchen to let him go.
Shen Miao never expected that such a thing would happen to her family on the mountain. Luckily, Qing Chen had retreated now, otherwise the little snow wolf would have been stolen and she wouldn't know where to look for it.
Thinking about it this way, Shen Miao felt even more disgusted with that little thief.
"Throw him out, don't kill him." Killing him would be troublesome, and she didn't want the orc to die in her own home.
The children were furious, and one of them went up and kicked the orc a few times.
The orc didn't dare say anything and just endured it.
Compared to losing your life, being kicked a few times is really nothing.
After the brats had vented their anger, Qingchen threw the man out and warned him that if he dared to come any closer, he would be killed.
The orc ran away in a panic, and probably wouldn't dare to come back even if he had the guts.
Erbao scratched his face, looking puzzled, and asked Shenmiao, "Mother, why did you let him go? He came to our house to steal things, so we should have killed him."
Shen Miao raised an eyebrow: "Erbao, it's wrong for him to steal, but it's not a capital offense. Giving him a lesson is enough. Taking his life is too serious."
"Oh." Erbao seemed to understand but not quite, and scratched his neck again.
