Chapter 109 Deceiving the Big Villain

"Mother, what are we having for breakfast this morning?"

In the early morning, after the children got up and washed, they ran to the kitchen to ask Shen Miao.

Shen Miao was making honeysuckle tea. She had noticed that her babies had bad breath these past few days. She didn't know if it was congenital or what, so she took some honeysuckle from the supermarket.

It was the first time the kids had seen honeysuckle water; they just thought the petals floating on the water were quite pretty.

"Mommy, what is this? Are we eating this for breakfast?" Sanbao asked excitedly.

Shen Miao smiled subtly: "Yes, drink this later, then eat other things."

Sanbao said "Oh," picked up a cup of honeysuckle tea, and put it directly into his mouth. As a result, the strange taste of the tea hit his throat as soon as it entered his mouth.

He almost couldn't hold it in and threw up.

Shen Miao reacted quickly, covering Sanbao's mouth with her hand, "Don't spit it out, swallow it."

Sanbao swallowed the contents with a bitter face and a wronged expression, but he couldn't drink the rest.

But Shen Miao was watching him intently from the side, making Sanbao very embarrassed. Suddenly, his eyes lit up, and he said to the other children, "You guys drink too, why aren't you drinking?"

Upon hearing this, Shen Miao urged the other children to drink as well.

When Da Bao and the others saw San Bao's expression, they knew that this honeysuckle tea was definitely not good. They were about to whine and beg to get away with it, but Shen Miao disagreed and insisted on making them drink it. She also announced an inhumane rule: from now on, they would have to drink this honeysuckle tea every day.

The babies suddenly felt utterly hopeless.

Shen Miao adopted a ruthless policy, not caring about the children's reactions; in short, she was quite happy.

Erbao said bitterly, "Mother must have done it on purpose, giving us such awful water that we have to drink every day from now on. It's so annoying, I want to pour that water out."

"How do you pour it? Mother is watching," Da Bao said.

Little Sibao also wrinkled his nose and said with disgust, "I don't like that water either. I don't know why Mother makes us drink it."

Even the three little foodies couldn't stand it and sighed, "This is the worst thing I've ever tasted."

Shen Miao saw several children squatting in the corner, chattering amongst themselves. Upon closer listening, she realized they were all complaining about her. She didn't disturb them, listened for a while, and then quietly walked away.

But the more I think about it, the more I feel that the kids are a bit ungrateful.

She went to great lengths to think of them, but they misunderstood her like this. How can this be allowed?

Shen Miao decided to teach the kids a lesson and let them know what truly unpalatable food is.

At noon, Shen Miao prepared the meal and called the children to eat.

The kids had been playing all morning and were quite hungry, so they washed their hands and sat down at the table.

As usual, several dishes were laid out on the table, some meat and some vegetables. The kids loved meat the most, and their chopsticks were always on the meat dishes. Shen Miao would usually put food on their plates and tell them to eat more.

Today, Shen Miao put burnt meat into their bowls. The children were disgusted and wanted to throw the burnt meat away.

"What's wrong? Don't you like it? Didn't you say you love your mother's cooking the most?" Shen Miao spoke up at the right moment.

Erbao said nonchalantly, "But this meat is burnt."

"If it's burnt, it's not made by Mother anymore? Do you know that there are still many beastmen who can't afford meat? Don't you think it's too wasteful of you to do this?" Shen Miao said seriously.

Qingchen sensed something was wrong and watched silently without saying a word.

The children realized what was happening, looked at each other, lowered their heads with some guilt, and whispered, "I'm sorry, Mother."

Shen Miao smiled amiably: "What are you apologizing for? Explain it clearly."

“We shouldn’t have said that Mother’s honeysuckle tea tasted bad. Mother worked hard to make it for our own good, so we shouldn’t have said that,” Da Bao confessed.

Shen Miao shook her head: "Of course, there are things that Mother makes that don't taste good. You're telling the truth. There's nothing to apologize for."

Erbao said, "We shouldn't talk about Mother behind her back."

Sanbao added, "Yes, that's not good."

Little Sibao chimed in, "It will never happen again. I'm sorry, Mommy."

The babies stood in front of Shen Miao, their little heads hanging down in neat rows. Shen Miao was initially a little angry, but at this moment, her heart softened.

"It's good that you know you were wrong," Shen Miao patted the children's heads and said, "Remember this in the future: you must respect other people's hard work and not talk about others behind their backs."

"I understand, Mother."

Shen Miao was satisfied. "Let's eat."

Qingchen looked at Shen Miao with amazement. This female beast was quite skilled at educating her cubs. She managed to convince the naughty cubs with just a few words.

"Why are you looking at me like that? Do you suddenly think I'm beautiful?" Shen Miao said narcissistically.

Qingchen shifted his gaze expressionlessly. Fine, he decided not to say anything, otherwise the female beast's tail would fly away.

Shen Miao, however, wouldn't let Qing Chen off the hook, insisting on finding out why he was spying on her.

Unable to resist her persistent pestering, Qingchen pointed to her face and said, "There's something here."

Shen Miao: "..."

That's going a bit too far.

She angrily reached out and wiped her hand, only to find it covered in sauce, and was immediately embarrassed.

It's because she eats too heartily.

Shen Miao was a little embarrassed, but also wanted to pick a fight. She felt that it was very unfair of Qing Chen to just watch her scold the kids with that face on her, so she said unreasonably, "You saw it a long time ago, why didn't you tell me sooner?"

"...I just saw it."

"You're lying! You've been staring at me the whole time!" Shen Miao persisted.

Qingchen, unable to handle the commotion, had no choice but to admit, "I didn't tell you earlier because you were scolding the kids. If I interrupted you, your scolding would lose its momentum."

Shen Miao looked at him suspiciously.

It's fake, right? They're just trying to fool her.

Qingchen remained expressionless, with an air of "This is how I think, believe it or not."

Shen Miao thought to herself, "Fine, I'll reluctantly believe you this time."

The children had already finished eating and were watching the two arguing, secretly covering their mouths and laughing.

Shen Miao felt a little embarrassed and pretended to scold the little one a few times.

The children laughed and scattered.

Shen Miao was a little angry. This was simply outrageous. Everyone in the family was laughing at her, as if she had the lowest status.

When she gets angry, Shen Miao doesn't want to clean up anymore. She leaves the mess she's made after eating and lets whoever wants to clean it up do so.

Qingchen was about to leave, but seeing this, she turned back, silently tidied up the dishes and chopsticks, and took them to the kitchen.

As an orc, he was a bit clumsy at these things, but his attitude was very good. Shen Miao watched from the side and gave him a satisfactory evaluation in her heart.

And she decided that from now on, if she didn't want to work, she would pretend to be angry, and that way, someone would do the work!
