Chapter 11 Finding a Veterinarian to Change the Medication

early morning.

Shen Miao was eating with several children, but she was not paying attention, and the children kept glancing at her.

"I'm full." Shen Miao reluctantly put down the fourth wild vegetable pancake.

The children were all shocked.

The wicked female beast only ate three wild vegetable pancakes today; could something be wrong with her?

Shen Miao had no idea what the children were thinking. She had only been slightly agitated, yes, just a little bit.

Here's what happened: In the morning, Shen Miao did a couple of chest-expanding exercises and became a little out of breath. Then, while washing her face, she saw her reflection in the water, and the fat on her face looked like it was about to sag.

She instantly lost her appetite, so even though she only ate half full, she refrained from continuing.

It's time to put losing weight on the agenda.

After Shen Miao finished eating, she got up and went to the kitchen. A little while later, she came out carrying a pile of meat, told the children to take good care of the house, and then hurriedly left.

The little ones looked at each other, and after a moment, Sanbao stammered, "What is she doing carrying so much meat?"

Da Bao calmly replied, "I don't know, don't worry about it, she hunted it back."

After leaving the wooden house, Shen Miao followed her memory and arrived at the veterinarian's house. The veterinarian was rummaging through his herbs. When he saw Shen Miao come in, he was startled, and then his face darkened.

Shen Miao put on a smile and said sweetly, "Uncle Shi, have you eaten?"

The veterinarian rolled his eyes and said sharply, "What are you doing here? You're not welcome here. Please go back."

This old man has quite a temper.

Shen Miao touched her nose, but it was alright; she had a way of dealing with this kind of old man.

With a quick glance around, Shen Miao plopped down on the stone bench where the old man had just been sitting, and said with a smile, "Uncle Shi, you're a veterinarian, so of course I'm here to get medicine for my Qingchen."

"Get medicine? What are you going to use to get it? I don't treat orcs for free. Get out of here, don't take up my space." The veterinarian sneered, shooing Shen Miao away like flies.

Shen Miao had witnessed firsthand how infamous the original owner of this body was; her reputation was so terrible that even an old veterinarian with whom she had no connection hated her. What a failure she was as a person.

The veterinarian glanced at her sideways. "Aren't you leaving?"

Shen Miao's body was enormous; once she sat down, the veterinarian couldn't move her at all.

Not wanting to anger the old veterinarian, Shen Miao promptly took out the meat she was carrying and said with a smile, "Old man, watch closely, I'm not taking your medicine for nothing."

The meat, weighing a good twenty pounds, was dangling in front of the veterinarian, who was so shocked that he was speechless for a moment.

But he quickly came to his senses and looked at Shen Miao with an even more frightening gaze than before: "You actually stole someone else's meat, you're hopeless!"

Shen Miao was stunned for a moment, then didn't know whether to laugh or cry.

“Who said it was stolen? I thought the news of me hunting a wild boar had already spread throughout the entire tribe.” Shen Miao frowned, as if puzzled as to why the veterinarian didn’t know.

The veterinarian rarely goes out and lives in a relatively remote area, so he really didn't know about Shen Miao selling meat yesterday.

Hearing her words, he looked at her suspiciously.

Upon seeing this, Shen Miao quickly raised her hand as if to swear: "I guarantee that there is absolutely no problem with the meat. If anyone comes to me with stolen meat, I will give you ten times the amount of meat. Besides, you haven't heard of anyone having stolen meat today, have you?"

The veterinarian thought about it and realized it made sense. The tribe was only so big; if someone really lost meat, the whole tribe would know about it.

The old man's expression softened slightly, but he still showed no intention of giving her the medicine.

Shen Miao inwardly groaned; how could this old man be so stubborn?

To be honest, if she hadn't wanted to gain favor with the main villain, she would have walked away by now.

After much pleading and persuasion, the veterinarian finally relented, pointing to a pile of messy medicinal herbs and saying, "If you really want the medicine, sort these herbs out for me."

Shen Miao looked in the direction his finger pointed and almost vomited blood.

This pile of medicinal herbs, with its branches and intertwined roots, would take her forever to collect.

She was about to refuse when she looked up and met the veterinarian's mocking eyes, as if to say, "I already knew, so stop pretending in front of me."

Sometimes, when you dislike someone, you just want to see them suffer.

Shen Miao took a deep breath and said with a forced smile, "Okay, I'll pick it up."

He squatted down and began sorting the medicinal herbs with a bitter and resentful expression.

After working for almost two hours, Shen Miao finally picked out a pile of medicinal herbs. She was so exhausted that she almost vomited blood and kept rubbing her lower back.

The old man gave her a disdainful look. "She's so fat, yet she gets so tired from doing just a little work. She's completely useless."

Shen Miao endured it; having to ask for a favor, she had no choice but to bend down.

"Uncle Shi, can you get my medicine now?" Shen Miao asked humbly.

The veterinarian was somewhat surprised; the female animal was actually capable of such a feat, which was quite different from before.

However, despite thinking this in her heart, she still looked disgusted and tossed a packet of medicine to Shen Miao, saying, "Take this. Be nice to Qingchen. I've never seen a female beast like you who doesn't even care about her own beastman cub."

"You're right, I'm changing too." Shen Miao hugged the medicine she had finally obtained, almost crying with joy.

Staggering home, Shen Miao immediately got busy without resting, preparing and decocting medicine. She didn't know the level of veterinarians in this world, but she needed a reasonable excuse to cure Qing Chen.

The smell of medicine soon filled the wooden house.

The children peeked into the kitchen and, seeing that Shen Miao was indeed brewing medicine, they became excited.

That's great, Daddy can finally get better.

Compared to the children's excitement, Qingchen was very calm. He knew he couldn't cure her, so he didn't have much hope. Instead, he wanted to know how Shen Miao would cause trouble.

Shen Miao quickly brought in the stone bowl.

Qingchen knew from the smell of the medicine that it was prescribed by a veterinarian. He couldn't help but sneer, "Is this the method you promised to use to cure my illness?"

Can his illness be cured by getting some medicine from the vet?

Shen Miao said matter-of-factly, "What's the problem? I traded a big piece of meat for this, so you have to finish it."

On the surface, this was medicine given by a veterinarian, but in reality, Shen Miao added many tonics that were beneficial to Qing Chen's body.

Qingchen said coldly, "Why would I drink something useless?"

Shen Miao said bluntly, "How will you know if you don't try? You'd better listen to me and don't forget we have an agreement."

Hearing her bring up the agreement again, Qingchen gave a sarcastic smile, "I remember it clearly, I don't need you to remind me."

"Then hurry up and drink your medicine." Shen Miao didn't waste any words and shoved the stone bowl directly into Qing Chen's mouth, rolling her eyes inwardly.

So all that effort she put into getting and preparing his medicine, and then had to endure that old man's harassment, and he wouldn't even give her a kind look? It infuriated her!
