Seeing that he had woken up, Shen Miao withdrew her supernatural powers.
She was somewhat surprised by the other person's physical condition; despite suffering such severe injuries, they had woken up so quickly.
The orc was still very weak and struggled to sit up from the ground. Shen Miao, not knowing what to do, stopped him and said, "You'd better lie down and rest for a while. Your injuries are very serious."
The orc gasped for breath and said, "Thank you. I thought I wasn't going to make it."
"I also think you're not going to make it. Try to do less bad things in the future," Shen Miao said coolly.
The orc was somewhat surprised. "You...you know me?"
Shen Miao chuckled, but there was no smile in her eyes. "What do you think? You just raided our tribe not long ago, and you've already forgotten? You're a busybody."
The orc thought for a moment. He realized that he had only raided one tribe recently, but he hadn't succeeded because the other side was prepared. After returning, he was still somewhat resentful and couldn't understand how the other side had set up so many traps.
Unexpectedly, they were now saved by a female beast from the other tribe.
The orc felt somewhat ashamed and solemnly said, "I'm sorry, I feel very ashamed about what happened last time. Thank you for not holding a grudge and for saving me. I am extremely grateful."
This orc doesn't seem as rude and savage as I imagined.
Shen Miao felt a little better. "Saving you was my own decision, it has nothing to do with you. I just hope that you will do less things that harm others in the future."
"Definitely." The orc agreed without hesitation.
Shen Miao felt there was nothing more to say, so she packed her things and prepared to leave.
The orc suddenly called out to her again, saying, "My name is Ningping, from the Xishan tribe. May I ask your name?"
"Shen Miao." Shen Miao hugged the name.
Ningping carefully wrote it down and promised, "Thank you. I promise you that I will never rob you again, nor will I let my men rob you."
That's good. Shen Miao knew that in this beastman world, it was a world of survival of the fittest. If she wasn't strong, she would easily be bullied by other beastmen.
Offering help can reduce an enemy for the tribe, making it a very worthwhile deal.
Ningping left after speaking, her back view was somewhat hurried, as if she was hiding something. Shen Miao didn't ask, since they were just strangers who met by chance, there was no need to pry into each other's affairs.
She glanced in the direction Ningping had disappeared, picked up the wooden basin, and went back as well.
She thought she and Ningping would never cross paths again, since they were from completely different worlds. But a few days later, Ningping suddenly came to visit in person, followed by two fierce-looking beastmen.
The cubs were the first to discover it. When they saw a strange beastman in their home, the cubs were very wary and asked the visitor's name.
Ningping didn't say anything, but just smiled and said, "Your mother is Shen Miao, right? I've come to find her."
The children immediately became more alert, lined up in a row to block the door behind them, and shouted, "You've come to the wrong place, this isn't Shen Miao's house."
Ningping was stunned. This shouldn't be the case. He had found out everything clearly. How could he have made a mistake?
Just as he was about to speak, a tall orc carrying a large pile of things stepped forward and said in a gruff voice, "Little brat, go inside and tell your parents that we are not bad people."
Ningping felt guilty when the orc, with his full beard and muscular build like an iron tower, claimed he wasn't a bad person.
He coughed, pulled the iron tower behind him, and said kindly, "Little one, don't be afraid. Uncle is a good person. I know your mother. If you don't believe me, go inside and ask your mother."
The cubs exchanged glances, all thinking that no matter what, they couldn't let those bad orcs in.
They clearly have ulterior motives, yet they claim to know their mother. Humph!
Mother said that all bad beastmen are like this. If they want to kidnap their cubs, they will say that they know the cubs' family members and that they are already five years old, not three or four-year-old cubs.
Ningping looked at the children's disgusted expressions with some confusion. What did he say? Why was he disliked?
"Da Bao, what are you doing at the door?"
Shen Miao's voice came from inside the house. Ning Ping felt as if she had heard heavenly music and was almost overjoyed to tears. She had finally waited for Shen Miao to come out, otherwise she would have been tormented to death by the little ones.
Ningping quickly called out loudly, "Chen Miao, Chen Miao, is that you? It's me, Ningping."
After a while, footsteps sounded in the courtyard. The footsteps grew closer and closer, and finally, Shen Miao's face appeared in front of Ning Ping. He said excitedly, "Shen Miao, I've finally met you."
Shen Miao was stunned. Was he so excited to see her? Did this orc have some kind of problem?
"Oh, it's you. What do you want?"
Seeing a bandit leader in your own home always evokes a somewhat complicated feeling.
The four little ones gathered around Shen Miao, and Shen Miao patted each of them on the head.
Ningping looked at the four little ones who had suddenly become incredibly well-behaved and wondered if she was seeing things. Just a moment ago, these four little ones were very fierce and wanted to fight him, but in the blink of an eye, they were like completely different people.
It seems he's not worthy.
Ningping knew she wasn't well received, so she smiled and said, "It's like this, you saved me last time, and I don't have much to repay you with, so I brought you some things. They're nothing valuable, but you must accept them."
He raised his hand, and the two iron towers behind him stepped forward and put down what they were carrying.
Even Shen Miao was startled when she first saw the two of them.
Good heavens, this robbing orc is something else, he looks like a small hill, no wonder her little one is wary.
Shen Miao didn't look at the things, and only said, "I only did a small favor, there's no need for this. You can take the things back, consider it my good deed for the day."
One of the iron towers spoke, its voice booming: "My boss's life is very valuable, you must accept these things."
I've never seen anyone force someone to put things away before; Shen Miao was speechless.
Ningping kicked the iron tower and hurriedly said, "Chenmiao, don't misunderstand. My brother is just like this, he speaks in a rough voice. But please accept the things. It's a small token of my appreciation. If you don't accept them, I'll feel bad."
His attitude was very sincere, and Shen Miao didn't want to get entangled with them any further, so she accepted the gifts and thought that this matter would be settled.
With that in mind, she kept some medicinal herbs, some beast crystals, and some meat, and told Ningping to take the rest back.
Ningping had no choice but to let the iron towers carry the things and head back home.
After walking a distance, Ningping felt more and more that Shen Miao had taken too little. Feeling guilty, he took a lamb from the pile of things and secretly tied it to Shen Miao's door.
By the time Shen Miao discovered it, Ning Ping had already disappeared.
She took the lambs inside; they were good for them, and once they grew up, they could drink goat's milk, which would be perfect for nourishing her little ones.
