Chapter 118 Sharpening the Knife

Qingchen saw Shen Miao disciplining the little snow wolf through the window and couldn't help but curl the corners of her lips slightly.

When the little snow wolf in the house is old enough to understand, it is quite sensible. Sometimes when Shen Miao takes several cubs out, the little snow wolf stays at home with him.

After being scolded today, the little snow wolf ran to Qingchen's room again, lay down by the bed, squinted its eyes, and looked very well-behaved.

Shen Miao took several cubs to the beast field, but the little snow wolf didn't go with them. It stayed with Qing Chen the whole time. Later, Qing Chen fell asleep and coughed twice unconsciously in his sleep.

The little snow wolf immediately pricked up its ears and cautiously observed Qingchen.

The gaze was just like Zai Zai's, lingering on Qing Chen's face. After a moment, it stretched out its wolf paw and pressed it against Qing Chen's chest.

The energy belonging to the snow wolf slowly flowed into Qingchen's body.

Qingchen slowly woke up and saw the snow wolf staring at him with a hint of worry in its eyes. Qingchen couldn't help but smile, but as soon as the corner of his mouth turned up, that strange aura came again.

This time, the aura was much stronger than last time, as if it were right next to me.

Qingchen focused his mind, his gaze sweeping around the room before finally settling on the little snow wolf.

The little snow wolf tilted its head curiously, as if to say: What's wrong with you? Why are you looking at me like that?

Qingchen stared at it for a while, then suddenly understood something. He chuckled softly with pleasure, then reached out and gently stroked the little snow wolf's head.

He thought he knew where that aura was coming from.

That evening, Shen Miao came over to take care of the children and put them to sleep. Qing Chen took the opportunity to tell her about this, and Shen Miao breathed a sigh of relief.

She was afraid there was something hidden at home, so she took the kids with her wherever she went. Now that she knows it was all a misunderstanding, she won't have to take them everywhere anymore.

The next day when they went up the mountain, Shen Miao didn't bring the kids with her.

The little ones were clamoring to go, but Shen Miao easily dismissed them by having them stay home and watch Qingchen practice walking.

She went up the mountain today not only to hunt, but also for other reasons.

After entering the mountains, Shen Miao found a relatively flat place, took out some fruit seedlings, and planted them one by one. This world is mostly wild fruit, which is quite sour.

When Shen Miao ate wild fruit for the first time, it was so sour that she almost lost her teeth. After that, she rarely ate it and missed the various fruits from her previous life.

Cherries, mangoes, bananas, persimmons, lychees, and more—Chen Miao's mouth was watering.

She had all kinds of fruit in the supermarket, but since she had no reason to take them out, she hadn't touched them. She felt it was a pity; such good things should be shared with the kids and Qingchen.

Once these seedlings have grown, she will have a legitimate reason to take out the delicious fruit.

Thinking of this, Shen Miao was full of energy. She wiped her sweat and continued to plant the remaining fruit seedlings.

After planting the fruit seedlings, Shen Miao ran to the trap and pulled out a wild deer. She said that since they were going to hunt in the mountains, they should bring some game home, otherwise they would be suspected.

As she was carrying her prey and preparing to head home, there was a rustling sound in the woods, and suddenly a tall figure darted out.

Shen Miao was startled and quickly backed away, thinking that some large wild beast was about to emerge.

Upon closer inspection, it turned out to be a disheveled orc.

When the orc saw Shen Miao, his eyes lit up, drool dripped from the corner of his mouth, and he staggered toward Shen Miao, muttering, "Female beast, a female beast."

Shen Miao was disgusted and turned to leave.

The male beast relentlessly pursued her, moving quite fast. It caught up with Shen Miao in no time and reached out to hug her. Shen Miao immediately became furious and kicked the male beast away.

"Hit me, hit me! Don't hit me!" The male beast got up from the ground and staggered as it tried to pounce again.

Shen Miao pointed at him and said coldly, "You stand right there. If you come any closer, don't blame me for being rude to you."

The male beast smirked and swayed as he said, "You female beast, don't talk to me like that. I've taken a liking to you, so you have to stay with me and sleep with me."

"Fine, so you want me to sleep with you, huh?" Shen Miao curled her lips, but there was no smile in her eyes. "Come here, I'll sleep with you."

The male beast had just been beaten, but he probably didn't even remember it. He happily ran over again, saying, "You have to serve me well, no, no... ah!"

Before he could finish speaking, Shen Miao suddenly jumped up and punched him hard in the head. The male beast clutched his head, spun around a few times in a daze, completely disoriented.

Shen Miao slammed him around several more times, until the male beast collapsed to the ground with a painful groan. Shen Miao's anger hadn't subsided, so she stomped on the beast's chest and yelled, "What did you just say? Who do you want to sleep with? Say it again."

The male beast curled up in pain, terrified out of its wits. It had lost all its previous courage and stammered, "I was wrong, I won't do it again."

"Don't you even know how to look at yourself in the mirror? You're so ugly, yet you try to force female animals into marriage. Let me tell you, I'll let you go this time, but if I see you again, I'll beat the shit out of you!"

After uttering her harsh words, Shen Miao abandoned the half-dead assailant, hoisted the wild deer onto her shoulder, and strode away.

What bad luck! I even ran into a madman while climbing the mountain.

Shen Miao carried the wild deer home and immediately went to the kitchen to boil water for a bath. She was touched by that lecherous hand and felt extremely uncomfortable. When Shen Miao came out after bathing, she saw the cubs surrounding the wild deer, and next to the deer was a stone knife broken in two.

"..."

"How did this stone knife break into two pieces?" Shen Miao asked in confusion.

The children looked at her strangely, "Mother, this stone knife broke when you came back from the mountain."

Shen Miao thought for a moment and realized that she might have accidentally broken the stone knife while beating up the male beast. She hadn't noticed it at the time, but now it was causing some trouble.

There was only this one stone knife in the house, and it was used for chopping meat and cutting vegetables. Now that it's broken, we have no knife left to use.

Shen Miao decided to go to the beast farm to buy one, but all the beastmen there knew how to make this kind of stone knife, and it wasn't sold at the beast farm. Helpless, Shen Miao could only try to make one herself.

Just thinking about grinding a stone into a sharp knife gave Shen Miao a headache.

Why not just take out those metal knives from the supermarket and use them?

But as soon as the thought crossed her mind, she immediately suppressed it. Qingchen's legs had recovered and he could walk around at any time. If he saw her, she wouldn't be able to explain herself no matter how many mouths she had.

Sigh, let's just keep grinding it out.

Shen Miao picked out a long, narrow stone and began her arduous task of sharpening knives.

Da Bao was very interested in sharpening knives and watched from the sidelines. However, when he saw Shen Miao's clumsy and unskilled movements, he couldn't help but scoff in disdain.

If this continues, it'll take forever to get it done.
