Chapter 120 Midwifery

Shen Miao demonstrated diligently for a long time, but the strange beast still looked confused.

She had to stop, panting as she caught her breath, and tentatively said, "If you don't mind, I can help you give birth."

She gestured and spoke for a long time, but the beast didn't react at all. Helpless, Shen Miao could only approach it slowly by herself. Seeing that the beast didn't react, she mustered up her courage and took a few more steps. Finally, she reached the beast.

Shen Miao looked at the strange beast and stretched out her hands.

The beast continued to look at her, its eyes filled with confusion, but it showed no sign of killing intent.

Shen Miao grew bolder and tried gently pushing the beast's protruding belly with her hand. The beast trembled, but then slowly flattened itself again.

"Come on, follow me and push hard." Shen Miao pushed while demonstrating how to do it.

Although the beast couldn't understand her words, it could see her actions clearly and quickly cooperated with Shen Miao's efforts. Because it had eaten fruit to replenish its strength and had been infused with a lot of supernatural power by Shen Miao, the beast was now full of energy.

With Shen Miao's help, the baby's head finally emerged.

Shen Miao was overjoyed and encouraged the beast: "Come on, the head has already come out, and the body will be out soon too. Don't give up, you'll be able to see your cub soon. Aren't you excited? If you are, then give it your all!"

With the combined efforts of the alien beast and Shen Miao, the alien beast's cubs were finally born successfully. There were two cubs in total, and they looked very much like the alien beast. They were a little confused when they landed, and Shen Miao tried to pick them up.

But after wobbling around for a bit, the babies were able to walk unsteadily.

Shen Miao was amazed. Indeed, there was a difference between wild animals and humans. Wild animals could walk right after they were born. If only humans could be that amazing.

The beast cradled its two cubs in its forepaws, affectionately licking away the slime from their bodies and holding them protectively against its chest. The two cubs snuggled close to their mother, a sight that moved Shen Miao deeply.

Mothers are truly great, whether they are animals or humans, they are all equally amazing.

Shen Miao waited until the mother and her two children had finished their affectionate time before coughing and stepping forward. Now that she had essentially delivered a baby for a strange beast, making a small request shouldn't be too difficult, right?

The beast raised its head and looked at Shen Miao. The blood-red beast eyes no longer held killing intent and defensiveness, but were replaced by goodwill and gratitude.

Shen Miao thought to herself, "There's hope."

She smiled and said, "Your home isn't here, is it? Did you get lost and end up here? I can take you to a better place."

Since the beast couldn't speak, Shen Miao used gestures and words to finally communicate with it. Shen Miao then escorted the weakened beast after giving birth to a place it found satisfactory to settle down in.

Shen Miao led the beast and its two cubs deeper into the dense forest, the farther the better. After walking for an unknown amount of time, the beast stopped and decided to settle down there with its two cubs.

They were already quite far from the tribe, and Shen Miao was no longer worried that the strange beast's magical tears would affect their lives. She blessed the strange beast and prepared to leave.

The beast put down its two cubs and blocked her way.

At this moment, Shen Miao was no longer worried about what the strange beast would do to her, because the beast had not shown any hostility along the way. She lowered her head and smiled, saying, "What else do you want to say to me?"

The strange beast took something out of nowhere and handed it to Shen Miao.

Shen Miao recognized it as a bone and hesitated to accept it. The strange beast then offered it to her, so she had no choice but to take it. Upon closer inspection, she discovered it was a finger bone.

He couldn't help but look at the beast's claws again, noticing that one of the beast's claws was missing a finger bone, which should be the one given to Shen Miao.

Giving away one's own bones sounds really creepy.

Shen Miao maintained her smile and asked, "You want to give me this piece of bone? Why? Is it to keep as a memento?"

This memorial is truly chilling.

But Shen Miao knew that the beast meant well, and all it could give was this piece of bone.

The beast took the bone from her hand, bit it once, and then made a running motion. Shen Miao asked, half-guessing, "You mean, if I'm in danger, I should bite this bone?"

The strange beast nodded its large head.

Shen Miao didn't really believe it was that powerful, but since the beast was so sincere, she couldn't show it. She put away the finger bone and waved goodbye to the beast.

Shen Miao returned home covered in blood. On the way, she encountered Lü Zhu, who kept staring at her. Shen Miao ignored her; she was exhausted and desperately needed to go home to rest.

Unexpectedly, Green Pearl became suspicious. Seeing that Shen Miao was covered in blood and hadn't brought out any prey, she became suspicious.

What's going on?

As Green Pearl pondered this, she also entered the mountain. Not long after she went in, she rushed out with a joyful expression and excitedly returned to the tribe, where she began to spread the news about what had happened on the mountain.

So Shen Miao had just returned home when she was taken away by the orcs who came to capture her.

The cubs were terrified and blocked the beastmen from taking Chen Miao away. The beastmen said in an unfriendly tone, "Little ones, you'd better get out of the way. Your mother has done something to harm the tribe, and the tribe is going to punish her. If you keep obstructing us, we'll take you all with us."

Da Bao shouted, "My mother would never do anything to harm the tribe! You're talking nonsense!"

Another orc said, "Stop wasting your breath on them. You can't even handle a few cubs? Just kick him away."

Shen Miao angrily said, "If you dare kick my baby, I guarantee I'll make you wish you were dead."

Perhaps her tone was too cold, for the two orcs remained silent for a moment, ultimately daring not to do anything to Da Bao. They simply pried his hands off and took Shen Miao away.

Several children chased after her, shouting Shen Miao's name loudly.

Shen Miao said to the two orcs, "Could you wait a moment? I need to say a few words to the little ones."

"What do you want to do?" the orc asked warily.

Shen Miao chuckled and said, "It's just a few words, no need to be so nervous."

The beastmen reluctantly agreed, but still said, "If you want to give your last words, you'd better hurry up, we won't waste your time."

Ignoring the two beastmen's harsh words, Shen Miao walked over to the children and said to them, "Go back, all of you. I'll come back to you after I've dealt with this."

“Mother, we’ll go with you,” the children all said.

Shen Miao shook her head: "No need. You all stay home and take care of Father. Also, tell him that I will be back soon and that he shouldn't overthink things. I have never done anything to harm the tribe."

The children wanted to follow, but Shen Miao's face hardened, and she said that if they didn't behave, she wouldn't like them anymore. Left with no choice, the children reluctantly agreed and returned dejectedly.
