Shen Miao's sharp eyes looked at the raven beastman, his spiritual power still not withdrawn.
“Awu, this is our enemy.”
"I know, I know, the Bloodworm Clan has wronged our tribe, but Snowflake is innocent. She did nothing wrong. She's a kind girl. Shen Miao, please let her go." The Raven Beastman's face was pale, and his words were much more fluent than usual.
Shen Miao glanced at him indifferently, then shifted her gaze to the female beast, who was trembling with fear.
It seems they don't have any special abilities.
She asked, "What are you doing here? You are not welcome in our tribe."
The female animal said timidly, "I...I came to see Awu."
"If I'm not mistaken, Awu's legs were broken by your parents, right? You didn't stop them then, so why pretend to be a good person now?"
"I'm sorry." The female animal's eyes reddened.
The raven beastman felt pathetic; even though the female beast had treated him that way, he still couldn't help but feel sorry for her when he saw her like this.
He pleaded for the female beast, "Shen Miao, please let her go. I can guarantee that she really won't harm our tribe."
After weighing the current situation, Shen Miao finally agreed to the raven beastman's request, but added, "If I find out that you have done anything detrimental to our tribe, I will kill you immediately."
"No, no way," the female beast said in a panic.
Shen Miao nodded. "So what brings you here today?"
The female beast lowered her head and said, as if she could hardly speak, "I... I've come to ask Awu for forgiveness. I'm sorry to him, but I still love him."
"No, I don't like you anymore," the raven beastman said excitedly.
Shen Miao raised an eyebrow, looking back and forth at them, finding it quite interesting. While she found it amusing, the raven beastman didn't think so at all. He was terrified and only wanted to get rid of the female beast.
Receiving the pleading look from the raven orc, Shen Miao had no choice but to help him.
"Your name is Snowflake, right? It's impossible for you and Awu to be together anymore, do you understand that?"
The female animal lowered her head and sobbed, without answering.
Shen Miao felt a headache coming on. What she feared most was this kind of female beast who didn't speak and only knew how to cry.
"Don't rush to cry. Listen to me. No matter how your relationship is, if your parents don't approve and you don't dare to disobey them, then there's no turning back. Do you understand?"
If the snowflake were strong, they might still have hope, but...
Shen Miao gently shook her head.
Snowflake said softly, "But I want to be with Awu."
"Then how do you convince your parents that you're willing to leave the Bloodworm Clan and wander around with Awu as a wandering orc?" Shen Miao pointed out sharply.
The snowflakes fell silent.
She couldn't. She had grown up in a tribe, protected by her parents, and had never experienced hardship. She didn't know what it was like to be a wandering orc.
Shen Miao concluded, "So, if you don't dare, then that's it. For A Wu's sake, and for your own good, don't come looking for A Wu again."
The female beast was heartbroken, her beautiful eyes filled with tears as she gazed at the raven beastman.
The raven-orc cruelly slammed his head to the side, ignoring the female beast.
Just as they were at an impasse, someone else came in from outside the door. It was the voice of the cat-beastman. He called out through the door, "Awu, who's crying in your room?"
The raven beastman was so frightened that he quickly covered Xuehua's mouth and hurriedly replied, "No, it's Shen Miao here. We were just talking about the injury on my leg."
"Oh, I see."
The cat-beastman didn't come in, but the raven-beastman dared not keep Snowflake any longer and urged her to leave quickly. Snowflake had no choice but to leave, her eyes red, turning back every few steps.
The raven orc had his back to the door and didn't look at the snowflakes. Shen Miao guessed he was probably crying again.
In fact, it's better to end this relationship sooner rather than later; dragging it out won't be good for either of them.
...
"Master, Master!"
Xuanfeng rushed in like a gust of wind, found Shenmiao who was preparing to meditate in the room, dropped three wild rabbits, and said happily, "Master, look, this is a gift I gave you."
Shen Miao looked down at the three rabbits that had been bitten and were now bloody and mangled, her feelings quite complicated.
She suspected that this was prey that Xuanfeng had eaten and then spat out.
However, seeing the child's bright, pleading eyes, Shen Miao felt she shouldn't discourage the child, so she praised, "Xuan Feng is great."
"Master, I will hunt even more prey for you in the future." Xuanfeng proudly raised its big head.
"Okay, I'll wait."
After dealing with the three rabbits, Shen Miao returned to her room, sat cross-legged on the bed, and continued to meditate and regulate her breathing.
Xuanfeng lay on the side, watching Shen Miao's actions with curiosity, occasionally nuzzling his head against her. Shen Miao would push his head away, and he would nuzzle back.
"Stop fooling around, Xuanfeng," Shen Miao said in a deep voice.
Xuanfeng then behaved herself, lying back in her spot and quietly standing guard beside her, like a loyal protector.
The two spent most of the day in the room. After Shen Miao finished her meditation, she felt that her superpowers had improved. Xuan Feng curiously circled around Shen Miao.
As a mythical beast, it is more sensitive to these things and can naturally sense the changes before and after Shenmiao's breathing adjustment.
Seeing its interest, Shen Miao gave it a brief explanation. After that, Xuan Feng tried to imitate Shen Miao and began to regulate its breathing. Surprisingly, it was quite effective.
But that's a story for another time, so let's leave it at that.
The most important thing Shen Miao is thinking about now is how to properly expose the rice paddies she planted in the mountains.
Because of the locust plague, almost every household in the tribe was affected, and everyone was short of food. Shen Miao wanted to share the rice with the beastmen to at least alleviate their immediate crisis.
After thinking it over, she decided to be direct and say that she had accidentally found the surviving millet on the mountain and, not wanting to keep it all to herself, decided to share it with everyone.
When Shen Miao announced the news in the tribe, all the orcs were in an uproar.
Some orcs, whose families were starving, asked anxiously, "Where is it? Where is the grain?"
Shen Miao told everyone that the place where the millet was located was in a river valley, and because of the terrain, it was spared from being completely eaten by locusts.
The beastmen didn't believe it at first, because everyone was short of food at the time. Whoever found food would definitely keep it for themselves, and who would spread it like a silly girl?
Then an orc questioned Shen Miao, "Is this true? You're not lying to us, are you?"
Shen Miao raised her eyebrows, her voice indifferent, "Why would I lie to you? I could have easily taken all the food by myself, but I told you because we're all from the same tribe. If you don't believe me, you don't have to go."
"No, no, no, we believe you. Shen Miao, everyone has seen what you've done for everyone. I'll go harvest the grain right away." With that, the orc ran off in a flash.
