Shen Miao cursed Shuanghua hundreds of times in her heart.
Unwilling to bow down to Shuanghua, she exhausted her healing abilities to expel the poison from Sanbao, but with little effect. After much deliberation, she had no choice but to go to Shuanghua.
The door to Shuanghua's house was tightly shut. Shen Miao knocked on the door, and an irritable voice came from inside, "Who is it?"
Shen Miao recognized Shuanghua's voice and replied politely, "It's me, Shen Miao."
There was no sound from inside.
"Please open the door, Frostflower, I have something important to discuss with you."
Footsteps approached and stopped at the door. Shuanghua deliberately said, "You were beating me up so hard, what are you doing here now? You're not welcome in my house, get out."
Shen Miao took a deep breath and said with difficulty, "Shuanghua, I brought some things to see you. Open the door and let's talk."
Silence fell again inside.
A moment later, the door creaked open, and Shuanghua stood inside. She had changed her clothes and her facial injuries had been treated, so she seemed to be alright.
Only she herself knew what it felt like to be struck by those muffled bolts of lightning.
She felt like her bones were about to crack; the pain came from deep within her bones, a chilling pain that she would never forget for the rest of her life.
All of this was brought to her by Shen Miao.
Shuanghua looked at Shen Miao with a sinister gaze. Shen Miao lowered her head, handed over the food, and said in a kind voice, "Didn't you want to eat grilled meat skewers? I made this especially for you."
Frostflower glanced at it, then giggled and said, "I don't want to eat it anymore."
Shen Miao asked calmly, "Oh, then I won't eat for now."
“But I want to eat something else,” Shuanghua said, her tone shifting.
Shen Miao paused for a moment before asking, "What would you like to eat?"
Frostflower's eyes darted around. "I want to eat big chunks of stewed meat, stewed until it's tender and melts in my mouth. I hope the sun rises a little higher so I can eat it."
"I'll make it for you."
"But we're out of meat."
Shen Miao turned around and said, "I'll go back and get it."
After Shen Miao finished stewing the meat, Shuang Hua ate it all, leaving not a single bite for Shen Miao. In the end, she even ordered Shen Miao to wash the dishes and pots. After she finished, she pretended to say, "Oh dear, this floor is so dirty, shouldn't we clean it?"
Shen Miao hesitated for a moment, then picked up a bamboo broom and began sweeping the floor.
Frost Flower started finding fault again, "Sweep slower, look at all that dust, it's making me choke."
Shen Miao gripped the broom tightly, wanting to throw it directly at her face, but thinking of the three treasures at home, she forcibly restrained herself.
Don't be angry, don't be angry. There's nothing to be angry about with this person.
After cleaning the house and yard, Shen Miao walked up to Shuanghua and asked, "Are you satisfied now? Can you give me the antidote?"
Shuanghua lifted her eyelids and glanced at her, then lifted her leg and said in a pretentious manner, "Ouch, my leg hurts so much. It must be because I was beaten up today. It hurts so much, I can't hear anything in the pain."
With a snap, Shen Miao grabbed Shuanghua's leg and pinched it hard. Shuanghua let out a pig-like scream. She pulled her leg away and glared at Shen Miao angrily, "What are you doing? Do you want to die?"
"No, I just wanted to give you a massage. Doesn't your foot hurt?"
Shuanghua stood up angrily, cursed and swore, and went back to her room. She was about to close the door when Shen Miao stopped her and followed her in.
The other person angrily shouted, "What are you doing here? Who let you in? Get out! Get out!"
Shen Miao stood there steadily, without moving an inch. "Shuanghua, give me the antidote."
Frost Flower pretended not to hear and cursed, "Stay here if you want, it's none of my business. Anyway, I'm going to sleep, you can stay as long as you want."
After saying that, she lay down on the bed and closed her eyes.
Shen Miao indeed stood by the bed, staring intently at her. Under these circumstances, Shuanghua naturally couldn't sleep soundly. She only pretended for a moment before starting to toss and turn, grabbing things and throwing them at Shen Miao, yelling, "Get out of here!"
"Give me the antidote." Shen Miao dodged the object thrown at her and only uttered these words.
Shuanghua sat up with a gloomy face and strode out, with Chenmiao following closely behind. At first, Shuanghua found her annoying, but later, for some reason, her mood improved.
She led Shen Miao around the tribe several times. When the orcs asked her questions, she pretended to be troubled and replied, "Sigh, I don't know what's going on. She just wants to follow me around, and I can't get rid of her."
Everyone was quite surprised and couldn't help but take a second look.
Shuanghua walked ahead, swaggering and puffing out her chest, as if Shenmiao were her little follower.
Every time Shen Miao went to a new place, she would ask when she would receive the antidote. At first, Shuang Hua would not answer, but later she would smile and tell her, "It depends on your performance."
This answer is practically the same as no answer.
What kind of behavior would be considered to satisfy Shuanghua is up to her. If she never agrees, will Shenmiao never get the antidote?
In fact, this was exactly what Frostflower had in mind.
Having suffered several losses at Shen Miao's hands, Shuanghua had long planned to get her revenge. Now that she finally had leverage over Shen Miao, she was determined to have her fill of it!
Shen Miao followed behind Shuanghua, also pondering her words.
She was now certain that Shuanghua was doing it on purpose; she could afford to delay, but Sanbao couldn't.
She was already considering whether to tie up Frostflower and threaten her to hand over the antidote.
"Why are you looking at me like that?" Shuanghua suddenly snapped.
She had intended to see Shen Miao make a fool of herself, but when she turned her head, she saw the other woman staring straight at her with an incredibly unsettling gaze.
Her frost-covered hair was all sticking up.
She still remembers the feeling of each thunderclap striking her body.
If it happened again, she'd probably be dead.
Shen Miao withdrew her gaze and said somewhat stiffly, "Shuanghua, are you not planning to give me the antidote?"
"Shen Miao." Shuanghua looked at her mockingly, "You're the children's stepmother, aren't you? You say you're good to the children, but you can't even stand a little suffering. And yet you still want the antidote? I don't even want to give it to you. I don't see any sincerity in you."
Shen Miao took a deep breath, clenched her fist, waved it, and said, "Perhaps, my fist is more sincere."
Shuanghua was startled, barely managing to maintain her composure, though her voice stammered, "You, what do you dare to do to me? Let me tell you, even if you kill me, it won't do any good. I will never take out the antidote. When I die, your little one will die with me."
"I'm not afraid of trading my life for another."
Frost Flower was extremely arrogant and had a firm grasp on Shen Miao's thoughts, so Shen Miao really didn't dare to make any rash moves.
Seeing her hesitant expression, Shuanghua secretly breathed a sigh of relief.
God knows how guilty she felt when she threatened Shen Miao. Thankfully, Shen Miao cared deeply for her precious baby.
