Chapter 48 Door-to-Door Visit

Somehow, news of Shen Miao's salt-making skills reached the sea beastmen.

They quickly sent an orc to investigate. After finding out the exact location of Shen Miao's house, he came directly to her door.

Shen Miao had anticipated this situation when she was preparing to make salt.

I just didn't expect them to arrive so quickly.

It seems that no matter the era, everyone wants to monopolize the pie and doesn't want to share it with others.

The one who arrived was a middle-aged orc, smiling and seemingly kind, but Shen Miao didn't think he was a kind person. The one who was sent out to negotiate must be a powerful one.

"I heard that the salt maker was a young female beastman. I didn't believe it at first, but after seeing you, I finally believe it. Shen Miao, you look like a very clever female beastman. No wonder you were able to come up with the method of making salt." The middle-aged beastman started with a barrage of compliments.

Shen Miao smiled faintly: "I don't deserve to be called clever. I just stumbled upon this by accident."

The middle-aged orc sighed, "Shen Miao, don't be modest. So many orcs couldn't figure it out, but you were the only one who did. It's clear you're extraordinary."

Seeing that the other person was going on and on about to continue praising himself, Shen Miao quickly stopped her, "Excuse me, I'd like to ask, what brings you here today?"

The middle-aged orc didn't mind being interrupted and laughed, "That's straightforward. I like dealing with female orcs like you. To be honest, I came here this time to make a deal with you."

"Oh." Shen Miao replied indifferently, showing no interest.

The middle-aged orc had no choice but to continue: "Chen Miao, how much salt do you have on hand? We, the Far Sea Orcs, can buy it all."

Shen Miao shook her head: "I'm not a salt producer, so I can't do business with you."

The middle-aged orc was taken aback, seemingly not expecting Shen Miao to say that, and hesitated before asking, "But I heard that you sold your salt to the orc tribe?"

“Yes, we’re all from the same tribe. I can’t just stand by and watch them go hungry,” Shen Miao said matter-of-factly.

"Then how about this: if you want to make salt in the future, just sell it to us. This will save you a lot of trouble. What do you think?" the middle-aged orc suggested.

Shen Miao raised an eyebrow and said with amusement, "You beastman are really strange. You are a beastman from the far sea, and you don't lack salt. Why do you insist that I sell salt to you? I might as well sell it to my neighbors. I won't do things that are far away from home."

"If you sell it to us, the price will be higher."

"So what? I don't lack beast crystals or meat. I just want to provide some help to the beastmen in the tribe so they don't have to buy those ridiculously expensive and unpalatable salts."

The middle-aged orc's expression changed. He finally realized that the female beast in front of him had no intention of making a deal with them at all, and was even deliberately trying to antagonize them.

Once he understood this, his expression changed immediately, and his attitude was no longer friendly; instead, he became arrogant.

"Shen Miao, you need to think this through. By doing this, you are going against the entire Far Sea Beastmen. Do you, a female beast, have the ability to do this? You should think it over carefully."

Shen Miao said casually, "No need to think about it. I'll make my salt, you sell yours. We'll keep to ourselves. It's such a simple principle, do I need to teach you?"

The middle-aged orc's face turned ashen.

What do you mean by "keeping to themselves"? It's obvious that this female beast deliberately sold salt at a low price to these stupid beastmen, causing them to be unable to sell their salt here.

This has already seriously damaged the interests of the Far Sea Beastmen.

Otherwise, he wouldn't be here.

The middle-aged orc said in a sinister tone, "I'll ask you one more time: either sell us the salt, or stop making salt. You choose one."

"I won't choose either of them," Shen Miao said firmly.

The middle-aged beastman laughed angrily: "Fine, you said it yourself. A female beast, so ungrateful. I'd like to see what you're capable of to argue with me."

No sooner had he finished speaking than the middle-aged orc launched an attack.

In his view, Shen Miao was so fat that she must be very slow. He could take her down in one move with a sudden attack, and then she would agree to whatever he said.

However, just as he reached Shen Miao, the person in front of him suddenly disappeared.

"Where did he go?" the middle-aged orc asked in surprise. Just then, he was patted on the back. He turned around and was immediately punched in the face.

With Shen Miao's weight, this punch must have been quite powerful.

The middle-aged orc felt a sudden darkness before his eyes and almost fainted. He staggered several steps, but before he could regain his balance, Shen Miao kicked him to the ground again.

After that, the middle-aged orc became Shen Miao's punching bag.

"How dare you talk to me like that? You think you can get away with this? Let me tell you, I've never lost a fight. You think I'm afraid of a skinny old man like you?!"

The middle-aged orc tried to struggle, but was firmly suppressed by Shen Miao. He couldn't help but curse, "Go ahead and hit me. You'd better kill me, then your whole family will suffer. The Far Sea Orcs won't let you get away with this."

"Since you've made that request, then I'll just kill you." Shen Miao smiled wickedly.

The middle-aged orc dared not speak further; he realized that Shen Miao might really kill him.

Seeing that the other party had backed down, Shen Miao felt it was pointless. She thought he was tough, but he was just a coward. She stopped beating him, got up and kicked him: "Get lost. Don't let me see you again, or I'll beat you every time I see you."

The middle-aged orc was beaten black and blue, and he was filled with resentment, but there was nothing he could do. He could only glare at Shen Miao and then get up and run away in a sorry state.

After beating someone up, Shen Miao felt refreshed and went to the river to wash the blood off her hands before returning home in a good mood.

There were still a few wild fruits in the kitchen. She had originally planned to make juice for Qingchen, but the middle-aged beastman called her out and gave her a beating.

But it's okay, she'll just keep doing it.

A short while later, Shen Miao brought a bowl of pure, naturally squeezed juice into Qing Chen's room.

"Come on, try my new product."

Shen Miao smiled, and Qing Chen looked up. Although his expression didn't change much, his eyes showed some anticipation.

His past experience told him that Shen Miao's food was always pretty good, and he wondered how delicious this new dish would be.

A moment later, Qingchen's expression cracked.

He saw a bowl of water that was red, yellow, and a little black...?

Shen Miao said this is called fruit juice, and it's a mixed juice, so it's very nutritious.

Qingchen just wanted to vomit.

He turned his head expressionlessly and said succinctly, "Take it out."

"Try it, how will you know if it's good or not if you don't try it?" Shen Miao urged enthusiastically.

Qingchen closed her eyes, her expression full of resistance.

Shen Miao couldn't pry open his mouth to force it in, and felt somewhat resentful. It looked alright, so why was he so disgusted?
