Chapter 56 Green Pearl is up to her old tricks again.

Green Pearl's face changed instantly, and she cursed viciously, "You little beast, how dare you bite me! You shameless wretch, I'll send you to your death right now!"

Green Pearl lifted the little snow wolf high and slammed it hard to the ground.

"No, Mother!" Ya Ling cried out in fright.

Shen Miao also stared intently at Lü Zhu's movements with a grim face. The moment Lü Zhu threw the little snow wolf away, Shen Miao rushed over and caught the little thing with her body.

Her back hurt a little from the fall, but she's tough and her injuries weren't too serious.

The little snow wolf in her arms was well protected and not hurt at all. It even stuck out its warm little tongue and licked Shen Miao's face.

That affectionate manner was completely different from when he was in Green Pearl's arms.

The pain in Shen Miao's body was immediately relieved. She carried the little wolf cub and limped away from Green Pearl's house.

Behind her, Green Pearl spat angrily on the ground and slammed the heavy door shut.

She was a little disappointed that she hadn't killed the little beast, but she didn't dare to provoke that madwoman Shen Miao again.

The wound on her arm made her gasp for breath. She carefully peeled back the animal skin and looked at the bleeding wound. She cursed Shen Miao hundreds of times over.

Every time she clashed with Shen Miao, nothing good came of it; almost all the injuries on her body were caused by Shen Miao.

That bitch was born to bring her bad luck!

...

After a strong wind overnight, the temperature plummeted.

When Shen Miao woke up the next day and opened the door, she was shocked to see a vast expanse of white snow outside, her mouth agape in astonishment.

If she remembers correctly, the temperature yesterday was at least 28 degrees Celsius or higher.

Is this what the seasons are like in the orc world? Aside from the scorching summer, it's always a bitterly cold snowy season.

Shen Miao was still reeling from the shock of winter arriving overnight, but the kids, upon waking up and seeing the heavy snow, excitedly rushed into the snow.

Fearing they might catch a cold, Shen Miao carried them back one by one.

The children protested, saying they wanted to play in the snow, but Shen Miao didn't even look up and said, "Okay, eat your breakfast first, and I'll take you to have a snowball fight."

The kids didn't know what a snowball fight was, but the name sounded fun, so they cheered and buried their heads in their food like little pigs.

After finishing her meal, Shen Miao told Qing Chen and took the children up the mountain.

The four little ones quickly grasped the true meaning of a snowball fight, chasing each other and having a great time. The snow on the mountain was very thick, and if they weren't careful, they would fall into a snow pit and need everyone's help to climb out.

Shen Miao's family was in the south, and it hadn't snowed this heavily in many years. She had a lot of fun and felt warm all over, so she didn't feel cold at all.

Little Sibao was even luckier. She reached out to grab the snowball and ended up with a bunch of pine cones. She kept digging inside, and it was like a treasure cave. She was so happy that she shouted, "So much food!"

Everyone who heard the noise ran over, and they were amazed to see what was happening.

In winter, all the leaves on the mountain trees fall off, and the wild fruits that weren't picked fall to the ground and rot.

There were so many things here, all of which could be stored for a long time. The kids simply got involved and helped Xiao Sibao dig. In the end, they dug out a huge pile of things.

Shen Miao realized that this must be where squirrels stored food for the winter, which was unfortunately discovered by Xiao Sibao.

Squirrels have many places to store food, some of which they themselves have forgotten. However, after thinking about it, Shen Miao still asked her cubs to leave some for them.

If they take them all, the squirrel that happens to remember this spot will starve to death.

They don't lack food, so there's no need for them to compete with small animals for it.

"Mommy, why would a squirrel hide food here?" the children asked curiously.

Shen Miao smiled and said, "Because this is its nest, just like you people, you also hide food in your little wooden houses, right?"

The children seemed thoughtful: "It seems so."

“Squirrels know that winter is cold and they can’t find food, so they prepare in advance. Kids, we should be like squirrels and plan ahead for everything. Otherwise, if we encounter special circumstances, like a snowy day like this, we might go hungry.” Shen Miao took the opportunity to teach her children a lesson.

The children all said they wanted to learn from the squirrels and never be lazy, which pleased Shen Miao.

While Erbao was listening attentively, Dabao secretly stuffed a snowball into Dabao's animal skin. Erbao shivered from the cold, and Dabao laughed and ran away.

Erbao chased after him, eager for revenge, but he was no match for Dabao and was repeatedly hit. Erbao got angry and came up with a plan: he put a rock inside a snowball and threw it at Dabao.

Da Bao's forehead was broken and he fell to the ground. Er Bao was terrified, afraid that Da Bao would be killed by the blow, so he stood there blankly, unable to move.

It was Shen Miao who noticed something was wrong and rushed over. She immediately saw Da Bao covering his forehead with his hand, which was covered in blood.

Shen Miao was also startled. She took Da Bao's hand away and saw a large, bloody gash on his forehead. It looked painful.

Da Bao stubbornly endured it, remaining silent, though his eyes were slightly red.

"Don't be afraid, Da Bao. We'll go back now, and Mommy will bandage your wound. You'll be fine." Shen Miao picked up Da Bao.

Da Bao's tears finally flowed, but he quickly wiped them away himself and awkwardly turned his head away so that his younger siblings wouldn't see them.

Shen Miao called Erbao and the others to go home.

Sanbao and Xiaosibao followed closely behind, while Erbao remained standing there motionless, like a little statue, with red eyes.

Shen Miao stopped and looked at Erbao: "Erbao, hurry up and catch up."

Erbao wiped his face and then quickly followed with small steps.

He kept telling himself that he didn't mean to hurt his older brother, and that he didn't know his brother would be so badly injured.

At that moment, he was terrified and had no idea what to do.

Shen Miao quickly returned home with her four children, took Da Bao into the warm room, and immediately began to treat his wounds.

The wound had frozen over, and it took Shen Miao some effort to clean it, apply medicine, and bandage it with gauze. She then asked Da Bao softly, "Does it hurt?"

Da Bao stubbornly insisted, "It doesn't hurt."

"Good boy." Shen Miao patted his head, carried him to the bed, and wrapped him in animal skin.

Sanbao and Sibao also came over, talking to Dabao and trying to cheer him up, but Dabao remained listless and couldn't muster any energy.

Shen Miao looked at Erbao standing in front of her. He had his little head down and his two little hands were clasped together, looking like he had made a big mistake.

Shen Miao asked him, "Erbao, do you know you were wrong?"

Erbao pouted and whispered, "I know I was wrong. I shouldn't have hit Dabao's head with the rock."
