Shen Miao was speechless and wanted to say something, but Qing Chen had already turned around and was sleeping facing inwards.
She had no choice but to come out first. Jiu Ying was squatting at the door. Hearing footsteps, she turned around anxiously.
Shen Miao smiled at him and said it was okay. Then she heard his stomach rumble, and she smiled knowingly. She walked towards the kitchen and said, "I'll go cook. You take care of yourself first."
Jiuying clutched her stomach, her face flushed.
Shen Miao prepared twice as much lunch as usual. Jiu Ying sat to one side, feeling very uneasy. He dared not look at the food, but couldn't help but sneak peeks at it.
The food smelled so good; he had never smelled meat that good before in his life, and he subconsciously swallowed.
Shen Miao tore off a piece of mutton for him. Since Jiu Ying was just sitting there blankly, if Shen Miao didn't give him any, he probably wouldn't take any for the rest of the meal.
"Eat up, you'll have the energy to work when you're full."
Jiuying looked at the tender mutton handed to her, feeling flattered and surprised, and stood up, extending her hands.
Just then, a fierce glint suddenly appeared in his eyes. Instead of taking the food, he grabbed Shen Miao's white and fleshy hand and took a big bite.
"Hiss." Shen Miao couldn't help but hiss in pain and instinctively threw Jiu Ying away.
Looking at his hand, he saw a ring of bloody teeth marks.
The four children's expressions changed drastically. The fourth child rushed to Shen Miao's side, held her hands, and kept blowing air onto her wounds. The third child immediately rushed to beat up Jiu Ying.
"You're dead!" Erbao declared fiercely.
Shen Miao looked at Jiu Ying and saw that after she had thrown him away, he had crashed into the wall and was struggling to get up. His eyes were lifeless and he was making a roar, as if he was going crazy.
Her mind raced, and she shouted, "Da Bao, back up!"
Da Bao was confused, but out of respect for Shen Miao, he obediently pulled his two younger brothers back.
Ignoring her wounds, Shen Miao took a rope from the corner of the wall and went forward to tie up Jiu Ying tightly.
Throughout the ordeal, Jiuying struggled and howled, but he was no match for Shen Miao and could only be bound. Shen Miao then stuffed a tattered animal hide into his mouth, which was still howling, to silence his cries.
After doing all that, she frowned as she looked at the wound on her hand, wondering if the Nine-Headed Serpent had any diseases. It would be bad if she got infected, especially since there was no vaccine available.
Shen Miao rinsed the wound several times with clean water, then carried the babies on her back, took out iodine from the supermarket, disinfected the wound, and finally bandaged it with clean gauze.
This is a method I used to deal with dog bites in my past life; I hope it really works.
Just as Shen Miao finished bandaging her wound, the door was pounded on loudly. It seemed that many people had arrived outside, and all sorts of noises were mixed together.
Da Bao opened the door, and before he could ask a question, a group of orcs rushed in, shouting at Wu Zi, "Chen Miao, you come out here!"
“My mother has something to do. Why are you looking for her? It’s the same if you tell me.” Erbao jumped out.
The beastmen didn't take Erbao seriously and shooed him away, saying, "Get out of the way. What's the point of talking to a little brat like you? Call your mother out here."
Erbao was pushed over by a tall, burly orc. He got up angrily and was about to speak when Shenmiao came out of the house and said to the orcs, "I wonder what brings you all here?"
The beastmen were immediately excited when they saw her.
"What has happened, Shen Miao? This is all your doing! What benefits did you receive from those fleeing orcs to frame the orcs in the tribe like this!"
"That's right, those fleeing orcs are all sick. They went berserk after they got home and almost bit me."
"That's right, I even kindly gave him a set of animal skins, and he pounced on me and bit my cub! Oh my god, I was almost scared to death! I only have one cub, if he bites it and causes any harm, I will definitely not let you get away with it!"
The more the beastmen talked, the more agitated they became. Some of them started destroying things in the yard, overturning the baskets that Shen Miao had woven to hold things, as well as the greenhouse for growing chili peppers.
In the blink of an eye, the entire courtyard was in complete chaos, as if a whirlwind had swept through.
The cubs tried to block them from all sides, but they were no match for these adult beastmen and were almost accidentally injured by them.
"Don't step on my cricket cage! Ah, you bad beastmen, you bad beastmen!" Sanbao was furious; his cricket cage had been broken by a beastman.
Shen Miao, unable to bear it any longer, said, "Stop! All of you, stop!"
The orcs angrily retorted, "What right do you have to tell us to stop? Asking us to take in those fleeing orcs is clearly an attempt to harm us!"
"I didn't know this would happen. If I had known they would go berserk, I definitely wouldn't have suggested to the clan leader that everyone take them in," Shen Miao said loudly, composing herself.
The orcs sneered: "What do you mean you don't know? You don't care about our safety at all. All you want is a good reputation, but you're risking our lives for it."
Shen Miao glanced at the orc. If she remembered correctly, the orc had been all for it when he heard that he could get a famine-stricken orc to work for them for free.
Now that something has gone wrong, everyone is blaming her.
To put it bluntly, it's selfishness; they can't bear any consequences, and when problems arise, they blame others.
Shen Miao wasn't the kind of person who was easy to manipulate. If you wanted her to take the blame, you could talk to her nicely, but if she came in so unreasonable right away, then she wouldn't be polite.
"Did I hold a knife to your throats and force you to take in fleeing orcs?"
These words aroused the beastmen even more, but looking at Shen Miao's domineering and unreasonable face, they knew that she was no match for him. She was an unreasonable person of the highest caliber.
An older orc stepped forward and said in a deep voice, “Shen Miao, you can’t say that. We’re all from the same tribe. If you know anything, you can’t keep it to yourself and watch everyone die.”
As the other party calmed down, Shen Miao also calmed down.
“I know everyone is anxious. In fact, the orc I brought back to my house has also gone mad.”
One of the orcs shouted, "We don't care if your orcs have gone mad or not. We just want to know how to resolve this. If you can't resolve it, we'll have no choice but to send all those orcs to your territory."
The orcs unanimously agreed.
Shen Miao glanced at the orc who had spoken and said coldly, "I will give everyone an explanation, but not now."
"When was that? We don't want to be with a crazed orc. Those orcs have to be driven away."
"No, you can tie them up, but don't send them away yet. Also, I'll give you an answer in three days." Shen Miao said this and began to see the guests out.
