Chapter 127 Killing the Giant Fish

Fearing that Green Pearl might cause trouble again, Shen Miao secretly observed her for several days. Only when she saw that Green Pearl made no further moves did she feel relieved, pick up her weapons, and go hunting in the mountains.

As she entered the mountains, Shen Miao sensed something was amiss. Just as she was wondering what was going on, a line of text suddenly popped up in the supermarket, which had been silent for a long time.

"Congratulations, the space has been opened!"

Immediately afterwards, a huge space appeared in front of Shen Miao. It was empty and seemed to be open for Shen Miao to put her things.

Shen Miao touched her chin, wondering what this meant. Why would they suddenly open up a space for her out of the blue? Was it because they were worried she wouldn't have anywhere to put her things?

Unable to figure it out for a moment, Shen Miao gave up on her troubling guesses and went hunting first.

She was very lucky today and found a rabbit burrow. She caught a whole litter of rabbits. While cleaning up the rabbits, Shen Miao suddenly had a brilliant idea and threw one of the rabbits into her spatial storage.

As it turned out, the rabbit stayed inside perfectly fine, without any problems whatsoever.

Shen Miao sighed, realizing that this was the true function of the space. She had tried putting live animals into the supermarket before, but they all died, whether they were pheasants or rabbits.

Therefore, Shen Miao always felt that live animals should not be put in supermarkets.

The space that has been opened this time is probably to make up for this function.

Shen Miao was delighted. This function was excellent. In the future, if she caught live prey, she wouldn't have to kill it; she could just put it directly into her space. That way, she could eat it whenever she wanted without worrying about too much meat spoiling.

Shen Miao tried it several more times and confirmed that there was no problem. She was overjoyed.

Maintaining this good mood, she cleared out another piece of land and planted cotton seeds on the mountain.

The winters here are very cold. Animal hides can keep a person alive, but they are not very comfortable to wear. She plans to collect cotton and make several sets of cotton clothes for herself and her cubs.

After finishing all this, Shen Miao carried several injured rabbits home, leaving the others intact in her spatial storage. As she passed the pond, she suddenly noticed that the fish in the pond were scrambling to the surface.

Why are there so many fish, and they're all running out? Is it going to rain?

As Shen Miao thought to herself, she couldn't help but move closer to the pool to take a closer look. She was startled by what she saw. The river was teeming with fish, and they were moving in groups in one direction as if they were about to migrate.

"My God, so many fish! If we caught them all, we could eat for days!" Shen Miao thought, already counting on her fingers.

I thought about grilled fish, steamed fish, dried small fish, pickled fish, and so on, and my mouth watered.

Just then, with a splash, a huge fish head emerged from the water, splashing water all over Shen Miao's head and face. Before she could react, the huge, strange fish opened its mouth and swallowed her whole.

Shen Miao felt as if she had entered a scorching, fishy place, and her skin was rubbing against something hard, which was probably the teeth of a giant fish.

Her dazed mind finally came to its senses, and she realized that the giant fish was about to close its mouth. She pressed her jaws against the giant fish's upper and lower jaws to prevent it from chewing her up.

But in doing so, she slid all the way down the fish's throat into its belly.

The giant fish was made of various organs, extremely sticky, and had a very distinct oppressive feeling of heaviness and a sense of lack of oxygen. It knew that if it couldn't get out, it would soon die from lack of oxygen.

She forced herself to calm down, took a dagger from the supermarket, and stabbed the giant fish all over its belly. The giant fish felt the pain and began to roll around.

Shen Miao was so jostled around inside that she almost threw up, and several times she nearly lost her grip on the dagger.

She held her head, trying to steady herself, forcing herself to calm down, and looking for an opportunity.

The giant fish must have been very uncomfortable, because there was someone inside its belly, someone who was constantly tossing and turning. It seemed to be trying to kill Shen Miao by bouncing her up and down.

Shen Miao clung tightly to the nearest long, thin object, swinging like on a swing, though she had no idea what it was.

The giant fish seemed to be in pain, and it flipped over even faster.

"Let me out, and you'll be comfortable too," Shen Miao said, stabbing the giant fish's belly haphazardly with a dagger in her hand.

This time, the stab struck the giant fish somewhere, causing it to pause. Shen Miao was overjoyed and continued to stab at that spot.

The giant fish was probably in great pain; it sucked in a mouthful of water, opened its mouth, and spat it out.

Shen Miao was sprayed out along with the water flow.

However, she was still underwater, in complete darkness, with no idea how deep the giant fish was. She could only keep her mouth shut. The pool was incredibly deep, and she felt she was going to die here.

Why is that giant fish not moving? Did she kill it?

She remembered that when she finally came out, it seemed like she had stabbed the fish somewhere, causing the giant fish to bounce.

However, perhaps she was mistaken, given the critical situation at the time.

As Shen Miao thought to herself, she held her breath and swam outwards, but she had just fought with the giant fish and was already exhausted, with little strength left to swim.

Hang in there, you'll be out soon.

Shen Miao comforted herself in her heart, her nose filled with the smell of giant fish blood, which was both fishy and foul. Shen Miao held her breath for a while, but finally couldn't hold on and started breathing again.

Huh, that's strange, how can she breathe underwater?

Shen Miao was bewildered, but she didn't have time to think about it. She paddled in the dark water for a while and finally saw a light. She immediately put in more effort and, in one go, surfaced.

With a whoosh, Shen Miao gasped for breath, her heart filled with relief and lingering fear. The feeling of seeing the sun again was so wonderful.

She scrambled ashore, soaking wet, and turned to look at the pool. She saw ripples spreading across the water, and the giant fish slowly rose to the surface.

The giant fish lay belly up, its abdomen ripped open by Shen Miao's dagger, revealing its internal organs.

This is practically disembowelment.

The giant fish's blood filled the entire pool; no wonder Shen Miao smelled an incredibly foul stench in the water—it had indeed killed her.

Shen Miao was panting heavily, utterly exhausted. At that moment, she couldn't care about anything else; all she wanted was to go back and lie down and rest.

She staggered home, startling the children who saw her like that.

Shen Miao was covered in blood, her hair and animal hide were covered in the slime of some unknown substance, and her shoes were gone, leaving her bare feet on the ground.

He was in an extremely disheveled state.

"Mommy, what's wrong?" The children rushed over, shouting.

Shen Miao forced a weak smile, about to speak, when suddenly her body swayed, everything went black, and she collapsed to the ground.
