Chapter 106 The Darkened Heroine 4

Ahri nodded and said, "That's right."

Tang Zhou continued, "Then where's your phone? Why can't I get through?"

"It fell into the lake. I didn't try to retrieve it, nor did I buy a new one," Ahri explained simply.

Then, noticing the proprietress glancing over from time to time, she said, "Have you ordered yet? If not, I'll order for you."

Tang Zhou handed the menu back to Ali, saying, "You order what you like, I don't eat spicy food."

Ahri knew this person had a sensitive stomach, so she said, "That's a bit difficult."

Barbecue stalls, you know, what place doesn't serve spicy food?

Ali took the menu back to the shop and said to the proprietress, "Proprietress, my friend can't handle spicy food, can I borrow the kitchen to make him a bowl of noodle soup?"

The proprietress quickly said, "Go ahead, go ahead, there aren't many people now, no rush."

"Thank you, boss lady." After saying that, Ah Li went into the small kitchen at the back of the shop.

Because this barbecue stall is right in front of the owner's own shop, and their residence is upstairs.

There were still some customers in the shop. Ali greeted them and went into the back kitchen to start cooking noodle soup.

Tang Zhou sat quietly. He had never imagined that Ali would be willing to work in such a place.

When I was in school, I was afraid of the heat, being tired, and getting hurt. But after I got together with him, he took care of everything.

When Ah Li brought over the noodle soup, someone said, "Oh, there's noodle soup here too? Can I have a bowl?"

Ah Li smiled but didn't say anything. The proprietress then said, "Ah Li specially cooked that for her boyfriend."

Upon hearing this, Tang Zhou looked at Ali, who blinked and said, "The proprietress said that on purpose. Otherwise, if you're the only one eating noodle soup, it will be difficult for everyone to order it later."

Tang Zhou suppressed the pounding in his heart and said, "I know."

Ahri smiled and said, "Then I'll go and get busy."

After an unknown amount of time, when Ah Li looked up, she found that Tang Zhou had left, having finished his bowl of noodle soup.

Ali collected the bowls and chopsticks and took them to wash.

Then Ahri was busy until closing time. She started moving tables and chairs into the store, then cleaned up, and finally closed and locked the door.

Just then, Tang Zhou ran over, panting, and said, "Thank goodness you haven't left yet."

Ahri asked, "Why are you here again?"

Tang Zhou's expression turned somewhat unpleasant, but he still took out an unopened box of cell phones and handed it to Ali, saying, "Didn't you say you lost your phone? I'll go buy you a new one."

Ah Li looked at Tang Zhou and said, "Can I not take it?"

Tang Zhou said, "No, but to make it easier to contact you in the future, I've replaced your SIM card, since the original phone number was registered using my ID card."

At that time, the two were in a good relationship, so they used each other's ID cards to get a mobile phone SIM card.

"But I didn't lose my ID card, I still have it safe and sound. I can use my ID card to apply for a card."

Ahri lost her phone, but her ID and other documents are still there.

Tang Zhou stopped talking, opened the phone box, took out the new phone, and inserted the SIM card.

He said, "Whether you need it or not, people will worry if they can't reach you."

Ali watched Tang Zhou quietly as he inserted the SIM card, then first called her, and then downloaded WeChat.

Ahri muttered, "Who else would be worried? It seems like only you are."

However, after Tang Zhou downloaded WeChat and logged into Ali's original WeChat account, the constant stream of messages instantly made the new phone lag.

Tang Zhou chuckled twice, waved his phone in front of Ali, and then remained silent.

Ahri touched the tip of her nose and turned her face away somewhat awkwardly.

Tang Zhou also opened several of the messages with Ali using matching profile pictures. Most of them were messages like "Wife, I miss you so much," "Where have you been lately?" and "Why haven't you replied to my messages?"

Tang Zhou then shoved the phone into Ali's hand and left without saying a word.

Ali watched Tang Zhou's retreating figure and said, "Idiot, there are no mobile phone stores around here. Who knows where you went to buy it?"

By the time Ah Li went upstairs, the owner and his wife were already asleep.

After Ah Li finished washing up and drying her hair, she received a video message from Tang Zhou.

Ah Li leaned back on the bed and answered the call.

Tang Zhou had probably found a hotel by now. He looked at Ali and said, "Remember to dry your hair before you go to sleep."

“I know, it’s been dried.”

"Then what time will you get up tomorrow? I'll come to see you."

"Around eight or nine o'clock, I still need to go shopping then."

"That's quite early, you should get some rest too."

"Okay, goodnight."

Ahri hung up the video call without any hesitation.

She was tired after a busy night.

The next day, when Ah Li woke up, the landlady came over mysteriously and said, "That person came very early last night." Then she pointed downstairs and said, "He was standing there waiting early this morning."

Ah Li peeked out and saw Tang Zhou, who was carrying something in his hand.

When Ah Li thought about how that outsider had made Tang Zhou get up at 2 a.m. to cross half the city to buy breakfast, she felt a little sorry for that fool.

Then Ahri quickly finished her task and went downstairs.

When Tang Zhou saw Ali come down, he raised the breakfast he was holding, shook it, and said, "I bought what you like to eat."

Ahri said, "Are you an idiot?"

Tang Zhou's smile froze, and Ali continued, "Didn't we agree to break up? Why are you doing these things?"

Tang Zhou's smile vanished. He moved his lips, but didn't utter a single word.

He thought that when the landlady said he was her boyfriend last night, she didn't deny it because she had tacitly agreed.

But now it seems she doesn't want him anymore.

Ali rubbed her cheeks and said, "Tang Zhou, I was wrong to you before, and I shouldn't have tormented you like that. So, I'm letting you go, and you should let yourself go too. Don't come looking for me again."

Ali thinks that Tang Zhou was tormented too much by that outsider, and he felt both love and hate for her, which led to his dark transformation without realizing it.

Tang Zhou shook his head and said, "Ali, it's not what you said. I love you, I can't bear to lose you, and I want to be with you forever. Let's forget what happened back then, okay? Let's start over, okay?"

He had long since lost all face in front of Ahri, and no matter how humble his words were, he still wanted to say them.

Ah Li bit her lip, snatched the breakfast from his hand, and said, "We'll see how you behave later."

Tang Zhou looked at Ali with some hesitation. Was that what he meant?

Ahri said in a cute but fierce tone, "Don't just stand there like an idiot! You look so tired, go and get some rest!"

Tang Zhou smiled; she had started caring about him again.

Ah Li didn't want to talk to him anymore, so she took her breakfast and went back upstairs.
