Chapter 152 The Young Educated Youth Sent Down to the Countryside (10)

So, Ahri shook her head, put all the books away, and said, "No, I just want to read more books."

Li's mother was worried that Ali might have reservations, so she said, "Ali, if you want to go, Mom will support you, and the whole family will support you."

Ah Li placed her hands on her stomach, saying, "Right now, I just want to stay home and wait for Ah Xian."

Li's mother noticed Ah Li's movements, and then she realized that Ah Li's belly seemed to have gotten a little bigger recently.

Ah Li seemed to have changed completely, so Li's mother asked Ah Li to stand up so she could take a look.

Ah Li obediently stood up, and then Li's mother looked at Ah Li, as if she had suddenly thought of something, and she took out her fingers and began to calculate.

It has been more than three months since Ahri and Li Junxian got married.

"Ah Li, have you had your period lately?"

Ahri thought about it carefully before shaking her head and saying, "It seems not."

Li's mother hadn't seen Ali prepare menstrual pads, and she also didn't use much toilet paper normally.

Suppressing her excitement, Li's mother picked up her bag and said, "Don't rush, let me take you to get checked out first."

Ah Li nodded obediently and then went out with Li's mother.

Li's mother then went to find Li's father and asked him to drive them to the hospital.

Mr. Li asked somewhat nervously, "Is Ali sick?"

Li's mother suppressed a laugh, took Ah Li's arm, and said, "She's not sick, she's perfectly fine."

Mr. Li didn't dare to ask any more questions. He quickly took the two to the hospital and then busied himself with taking care of them.

When the results came out, Li's mother looked at the report with delight; she was indeed pregnant.

Mr. Li exclaimed excitedly, "Is she pregnant?"

Ahri rubbed her stomach and muttered, "I thought it was because I've been eating too much lately."

Li's mother smiled and took Ali's arm, saying, "This isn't just from eating too much, Ali, you're pregnant. From now on, if you want anything to eat, just tell us."

When they got home, Grandpa Li was waiting for them.

As soon as they returned, Grandpa Li asked, "Why did you suddenly go to the hospital today? Are you feeling unwell?"

"No, Dad, it's Ah Li who's pregnant!" Mr. Li said happily.

Grandpa Li smiled broadly upon hearing this, saying, "This is good news."

Ah Li was taken back to her room by Li's mother, who said, "Ah Li, you should rest first. I'll go cook something for you to eat."

Ah Li nodded and said, "Okay, thank you, Mom."

Li's mother tapped Ali's forehead and said, "Silly child, why are you thanking me?"

After a while, Ah Li felt a bit stuffy and was about to get up and open the window when he heard a noise outside.

Ali didn't turn on the light; instead, by the moonlight, she watched as someone pushed the window open from the outside.

Another person nimbly entered, heading straight this way.

Just as Ahri was about to grab the lamp and smash it, someone grabbed her hand.

"Ah Li, it's me."

Li Junxian is back, but he can't stay long; he has to rush back.

Ah Li then turned on the desk lamp, looked at Li Junxian in front of her, her eyes reddened, and said, "You look haggard."

Li Junxian gently hugged Ah Li, then carefully placed his hand on Ah Li's stomach. "Ah Li, I'm sorry, I can't stay by your side."

Ah Li nestled in Li Junxian's arms, placed her hand on the back of his hand, and said, "When you heard the news, were you happy?"

"I'm so happy, I'm extremely happy."

Li Junxian said with a smile that when he heard the news, he almost jumped three feet high like a child.

Ah Li was amused and said, "Then you must be careful in everything you do, you're a father now."

"Yes, I'm going to be a father, I'll be careful."

The two chatted intermittently like this.

When Ah Li got sleepy, Li Junxian put her back on the bed, stroked Ah Li's hair, lowered his head and kissed her forehead, saying, "It will be over soon, very soon."

However, when Ah Li was in labor and about to give birth, Li Junxian did not return in time.

Li's mother waited outside the delivery room the whole time, but she didn't hear Ali shouting at all.

She said to Li's father, "Ali, this child, doesn't even cry out in pain. How can you give birth without crying out?"

"She's probably afraid we'll worry," Mr. Li comforted Mrs. Li.

When Ah Li gave birth to a baby girl, Li's mother was overjoyed; her little flower hat could finally come in handy.

When the child turned one year old, Li Junxian still hadn't returned, but he did send someone back with a rattle drum and a bunch of toys for the child.

Ah Li happily accepted the gifts without asking when Li Junxian would return.

Li Junxian returned when the child had learned to walk and was able to run around.

That day, Niu Niu was being chased around by Li's mother to be fed when she suddenly bumped into someone.

Li's mother, holding a bowl, walked up to him, patted him several times, and said, "Why did you take so long to come back!"

However, missions are inherently dangerous, and it is fortunate that they were able to return safely.

When Ah Li heard the noise and came out, Niu Niu was being held by Li Junxian. Niu Niu was pulling on his collar and calling out, "Daddy."

Because on ordinary days, Ah Li would show Niu Niu Li Junxian's photo and tell her that this was her father.

So, Niu Niu recognized her father at a glance.

Li Junxian carried Niu Niu towards Ali, then bent down and took Ali's hand, saying, "I'm back."

Looking at Li Junxian's increasingly mature appearance, Ah Li said, "It's good that you're back. Welcome home."
