Ah Li stroked her chin, thinking that when she first arrived here, the wedding dress she was wearing and the fact that her hands and feet were not bound meant that the woman was willing to get married.
The fact that Huo Ling opened the door from the inside the next day also indicates that no one was guarding outside.
So, can we assume that the woman liked the man, but the man misunderstood her and then forced himself on her?
So, does she hate this man, or are there other factors at play?
Otherwise, why would they bring her and Huo Ling in to relive everything from back then?
The only word Ahri could think of was "reenactment".
And this story may be the story of the woman holding a light green oil-paper umbrella on the other side of the broken bridge.
So Ahri sat up, could the key be the broken bridge?
When Huo Ling saw Ah Li suddenly get up, he also got up and then draped a coat over Ah Li.
Because of Huo Ling's actions, Ah Li suddenly had a flash of inspiration, and at night, 'she' had something she couldn't say.
But she didn't during the day.
Also, Huo Ling at night is completely different from how she is now.
If the two of them clear up the misunderstanding during the day, can they leave this place?
Ah Li thought of this and decided to give it a try. She turned to the side and hugged Huo Ling, saying softly, "You misunderstood me. You've always been the only one in my heart, which is why I was willing to marry you."
Huo Ling felt something was wrong when Ah Li's soft body leaned against him. He didn't know whether to hug her or push her away.
Ah Li looked up at Huo Ling, who was still clueless, and continued, "So, could you please not treat me like that? I'm scared."
Huo Ling's expression suddenly changed, his eyes showing a mixture of joy and anger.
Huo Ling panicked and quickly shouted, "I'm losing control of myself!"
And then, that was it.
The room was quiet, with only the sound of their breathing.
Huo Ling looked at Ah Li somewhat uncomfortably, as if he had messed things up.
Ah Li also noticed the change in Huo Ling's expression earlier, but it was gone now. She pushed him away forcefully, saying, "So annoying! If you can't control yourself, then don't try to control yourself!"
It was so close to succeeding just now.
Huo Ling almost fell backward. He braced himself on the bed with his hands. Seeing that Ah Li's expression was off, he said, "I felt very happy just now, but I was also worried that I was being deceived."
"real?"
"Yes." Huo Ling nodded quickly.
Ahri felt she was close to finding the key to solving the problem, and now she just wanted to wait quietly until nightfall.
At night, Ah Li held tightly to Huo Ling's arm, and the two lay in bed together.
When Ahri sensed that 'she' was about to make another move, he fought desperately to take back his body.
She knows this person very well.
Huo Ling's expression changed even more, and he said indifferently, "Let go."
Ahri refused to let go, saying, "No, I want it this way."
Who knows if this person will start acting without hesitation again once we let go?
Huo Ling lifted Ah Li's chin with his hand, raised his eyebrows and said, "What are you planning to do tonight? Do you think I'll let you off the hook like this?"
At this moment, Ahri also successfully regained control of the body, as if 'she' also wanted to take this opportunity to say something.
Ah Li nestled shyly in Huo Ling's arms, then wrapped her arms around his waist. "I was wrong. I shouldn't have kept everything to myself, and I shouldn't have kept it from you."
"Actually, I am very happy to marry you."
As Ahri spoke, she felt tears welling up in her eyes, and then she heard 'her' say painfully, "I really didn't mean to use you. I thought you invited me to the Broken Bridge. I didn't know there were other people there. I thought it was just the two of us. That day was also your birthday."
Ah Li felt a blur before her eyes, and she and Huo Ling appeared together on the Broken Bridge.
However, Ah Li was holding a hairpin that she had plunged into Huo Ling's chest.
With blood streaming down his face, Huo Ling said, "Is this what you call liking someone?"
Ahri released her grip on the hairpin and looked around.
Several faceless people stood around her, and memories that didn't belong to her began to appear in Ahri's mind.
In her memory, 'she' was controlled by someone, and when she came to her senses, she found that she had killed the man she loved most with her own hands.
Upon seeing this, Ah Li suddenly hugged Huo Ling and said, "I'm sorry, I've been controlled."
Huo Ling no longer believed Ah Li. He pushed Ah Li away and retreated towards the edge of the broken bridge, saying, "Let's leave it at that for the rest of our lives. I'm letting you go."
As soon as he finished speaking, he fell backward.
Behind it lies the lake beneath the broken bridge, which in the darkness resembles a gigantic beast capable of swallowing people whole.
Without a second thought, Ah Li jumped down after him, saying, "Don't even think about leaving me! I'm married to you now, I'm yours in life and in death!"
The moment she fell into the water, Ahri reached out to Huo Ling, grabbed his hand, swam to him, and gently hugged him, saying, "Hey, this way we'll never be apart again."
"you!"
Huo Ling seemed not to have expected Ah Li to jump down and accompany him. In the end, with a smile on his lips, he hugged Ah Li back.
The next second, the hairpin on Huo Ling's chest disappeared, and Huo Ling also fainted.
Ahri held her breath and waded through the water, carrying the person upwards.
When she surfaced with Huo Ling, she saw Wan Jiaoyang standing on the broken bridge waiting for her.
Wan Jiaoyang looked at the unconscious Huo Ling, then at Ah Li, before flicking his sleeve and pulling the two of them out of the water.
