After returning from the miasma forest, Jinglian was carried back to her meditation room.
After quickly washing up, Ah Li went to see the head chef.
The head monk was a chubby monk. When he saw Ah Li return, he was very happy and said, "It's good that you're back, Ah Li."
Ah Li wanted to help out in the dining hall, but the head monk told her to go back, saying, "You just got back, rest well before you come back."
"Okay, then I'll go back and rest first."
During that time in the miasma forest, she was really exhausted, unable to sleep or eat well.
So, Ahri went back to her room and lay down on the bed to rest.
Ahri also began to look through the original owner's past...
The original owner was left at the temple gate by her parents during a severe drought.
The abbot discovered it the next day, chanted a Buddhist prayer, and then kept the person there.
The original owner was well-behaved and obedient from a young age, rarely crying or making a fuss. The abbot, the head monk, and others all liked this little girl very much.
As the original owner grew up, she stayed in the temple's dining hall to help out.
Day after day, year after year.
The abbot would sometimes ask the original owner, "What are your plans for the future?"
The original owner said at that time, "I want to open a noodle shop at the foot of the mountain."
The original owner had considered staying in the temple for the rest of his life, but the abbot and the head monk both refused.
Because life is beautiful.
The original owner had her own karmic ties and could not stay.
So, the original owner would sometimes think about opening a noodle shop at the foot of the mountain, and coming up to visit the abbot and the head chef whenever he had free time.
Ah Li thought: She still has to have babies, so it's not very convenient for her to stay in the temple.
When the time comes, she will help the original owner tell the holy monk that she likes him, and then she will go down the mountain.
Having made up his mind, Ah Li rested for a few days and soon returned to the dining hall to help.
However, Ah Li also learned from other monks that the holy monk had been invited away and his return date was uncertain.
Ah Li continued to wait, and even learned how to make vegetarian noodles from the master chef.
That day, Ali was taking stock of the supplies in the kitchen and found that there wasn't enough salt and soy sauce.
Ahri took a small notebook and wrote down all the things she wanted to buy.
When she turned around, she found Jinglian standing at the door, staring at her. Her thoughts seemed to have wandered off somewhere, and even when she walked right up to him, he didn't come to his senses.
Ah Li then called out, "Master Jinglian."
Jinglian then slowly looked at Ali, noticed the notebook in Ali's hand, and said, "Miss Ali, are you going down the mountain?"
"Yes, we need to go down the mountain to buy these things."
"Then I'll accompany Miss Ah Li down the mountain."
"Can you do it now?"
Ah Li looked at Jing Lian's legs and realized that now that he was standing like this, it was impossible to tell that his legs had ever been broken.
Jinglian clasped her hands together and said, "My leg injury is healed."
"I'm also very grateful to Ahri for helping me reattach my broken leg in time, otherwise it would have been troublesome."
"Master Jinglian, you're too kind."
As Ah Li spoke, he picked up his bamboo basket and prepared to go down the mountain.
Jinglian followed behind Ali, wanting to go down the mountain with Ali.
Along the way, monks would pass by the two from time to time and would greet them.
As soon as Jiekong saw Ah Li, he ran over from a distance, "Miss Ah Li, are you going down the mountain again?"
Ah Li nodded, and Jie Kong took the bamboo basket from Ah Li's shoulder, saying, "Then I'll go down the mountain with you."
Jinglian watched Jiekong's actions, then looked at Ali. Seeing Ali nod with a smile, he said, "I will also accompany Miss Ali down the mountain."
Jiekong seemed to have just realized that Jinglian wanted to come along, and he said, "Brother Jinglian, are you going too?"
Jinglian clasped her hands together and said, "Of course we'll go together."
Jie Kong said, "But your leg injury hasn't healed yet, and walking on mountain paths is not good for your recovery."
Jinglian gazed at Jiekong and slowly said, "I can."
For some reason, Jiekong felt that Jinglian was in great danger at this moment.
He then said, "Let's go together, it'll be lively on the way."
Ah Li smiled at Jing Lian, then at Jie Kong, and said, "Let's go together then, otherwise I'm worried that we won't be able to get back in time to cook."
Jiekong shared the same sentiment and said, "Then let's go and come back as soon as possible."
Jinglian followed behind Ah Li and Jie Kong, watching the two of them chatting and laughing from time to time, and he felt a little stifled.
When they arrived at the market at the foot of the mountain, Ali quickly bought what he needed.
Jiekong put the things into the bamboo basket on his back and said, "Miss Ali, would you like some vegetarian buns?"
Ali shook his head and said, "There should still be vegetarian buns in the vegetarian hall."
"Miss Ali, would you like some candied hawthorn?"
Jie Kong saw someone selling candied hawthorns and asked another question.
Ahri shook her head again.
When Jinglian heard Jiekong asking Ah Li from time to time if she wanted to eat this or that, he said, "Let's go back early."
Jie Kong then shut his mouth and stopped talking.
Ah Li remained quiet, so Jing Lian took a few more steps closer to Ah Li and walked alongside her.
Ah Li glanced at Jing Lian, and Jing Lian looked back at Ah Li, saying, "I haven't seen Miss Ah Li for a long time since I returned from the miasma forest. I wonder if Miss Ah Li has been affected by the miasma?"
Ah Li shook her head. "I wasn't affected by miasma. I've always been healthy. When I came back, my master also gave me a medicine to clear away the miasma."
"That's good." Jinglian didn't say anything more.
However, Ahri could sense that this person would glance at her from time to time.
Jie Kong felt like he was about to burst from being cooped up; he couldn't speak, it was so frustrating.
