"Is there anything else to arrange? We'll head back after the exchange meeting tomorrow."
Secretary Li thought to himself that he had made all the necessary arrangements.
Ahri continued in a low voice, "So, do I need to wear a formal dress tomorrow?"
"Why wear an evening gown? Just wear a business suit. It's not a cocktail party."
Secretary Li then looked at Ali and said, "But why didn't you say you were going to stay home with your daughter this time?"
He Jingzhi stopped in his tracks. Did she have a daughter?
Ah Li smiled and said, "Well, she's about to take the college entrance exam, so I don't want to put too much pressure on her."
He Jingzhi looked at Ali; her daughter was about to take the college entrance exam.
Secretary Li noticed He Jingzhi's return and quickly distanced himself from Ali. Although he felt that Ali and He Jingzhi could never have a relationship beyond that of superior and subordinate, his instinct told him to get away.
He Jingzhi handed the phone back to Secretary Li and said, "Book a plane ticket. After the exchange meeting tomorrow, I'll go back immediately."
"Okay, I understand."
Secretary Li took the phone and started booking the plane tickets.
He Jingzhi gave Ah Li a deep look before returning to his room.
Secretary Li did tell Ah Li, "Get some rest."
"good."
Ahri returned to her room, and then, looking at the untouched water next to the computer, she picked it up and poured it out.
The exchange meeting started at nine o'clock the next day and ended at noon.
He Jingzhi didn't linger. As soon as it was over, he asked Secretary Li to finish explaining things, and then they took a plane back.
On the plane, Ali was still sitting behind He Jingzhi and Secretary Li.
He Jingzhi didn't look at the documents or talk much with Secretary Li; he just sat there with his eyes closed, resting.
Before boarding the plane, Ali noticed that He Jingzhi had faint bluish tint under his eyes.
Secretary Li seemed to be in good spirits; it was obvious she had slept very well last night.
