However, Ah Li's sleeping posture is really terrible. Even though there is enough room for another person to sleep in the middle of the night, Ah Li always rolls onto Yan Siming in the middle of the night.
Yan Siming was initially quite wary, but as soon as Ah Li rolled over, he immediately woke up and chose to sit on the edge of the bed and close his eyes to rest.
However, every night when Ah Li would cry out in her sleep that she was cold, Yan Siming couldn't bear to lie down and let Ah Li roll over to him, the source of warmth.
As dawn breaks, the melodious chirping of insects and birds echoes through the mountains.
Ahri touched the cold bed beside her with her eyes closed, then opened them.
Then I took out a small bag of rice and started cooking millet porridge.
After the aroma wafted out, Ali filled a pot with water and went to find Yan Siming.
This person doesn't care about their own feelings at all when they do things.
When Ali found Yan Siming, he discovered that Yan Siming had a very good haul: several pheasants, several wild rabbits, and a litter of baby rabbits.
Ahri walked over with delight, patted the little bunny's head, and exclaimed, "So cute!"
Because of Ahri's silly personality, Ahri sometimes acts a bit goofy. However, Ahri is used to it.
After touching it a few times, Ali handed the water to Yan Siming and urged, "Drink it quickly."
Yan Siming was indeed thirsty. He took the drink and took a big gulp, saying, "I still have a big one over there."
"Big guy?"
Ahri immediately thought of wild boars.
Sure enough, Yan Siming pulled out a small wild boar that had just died not long ago, weighing about 100 pounds.
Ali jumped up instantly, shouting, "Yan Siming, you're going to be rich!"
He said he was going to town today, and today he caught a wild boar.
Yan Siming was somewhat displeased upon hearing this. He held a mouthful of water and looked at Ali with a gloomy expression.
Ahri tilted her head and looked at him, wondering what he wanted to do.
Yan Siming swallowed the water in his mouth and said, "It's yours too."
"Huh?" Ahri didn't understand.
Yan Siming didn't intend to say anything. He simply tied up the prey, threw it into a large basket, covered it with wild grass, and then picked up the little wild boar and prepared to leave.
Ahri quickly followed, shouting, "Give me the big basket, I can carry it too."
However, Yan Siming ignored Ah Li completely and walked away quickly.
Ahri kept chasing after them, calling out, "Wait for me!"
Yan Siming would sometimes look back to see if anyone was missing, but otherwise he never thought of asking Ali to help carry the prey.
After the two returned and ate some rice porridge, they went down the mountain to meet up with Grandpa Wang.
Looking at the prey carried on Yan Siming's back, Grandpa Wang realized for the first time that he had been prescient. Look at this young man, isn't he a skilled hunter?
It was fortunate that he arrived early and didn't wait at the village entrance; otherwise, the young man would have been snatched up by the villagers to be their son-in-law.
Ali was still saying to Grandpa Wang, "Yan Siming is amazing. I haven't even woken up yet, and he's already hunted so many prey."
Grandpa Wang said, "Yes, yes, this person is really something."
Ah Li's eyes crinkled with laughter as she said, "That's why I like Yan Siming the most."
On the other side, Yan Siming arranged the prey on the oxcart, found a place to sit, and then closed his eyes.
However, the slightly red tips of his ears betrayed his unsettled heart.
Her simple statement of liking him instantly shattered his usual tranquility, causing his heart to race like a stormy sea.
Grandpa Wang smiled and looked at Yan Siming, who seemed very composed, but didn't say anything. Instead, he told Ali to get in the car quickly.
Ali quickly sat down and chatted with Grandpa Wang along the way.
Sometimes, when Grandpa Wang gets into a good mood, he'll start singing folk songs.
Ahri clapped along to the rhythm.
The three of them then set off for town in an oxcart.
As soon as the three of them entered the town, Grandpa Wang led them to a restaurant.
Grandpa Wang also said, "This restaurant has reasonable prices, and hunters from the neighborhood love to come here."
Yan Siming looked at the restaurant in front of him, said nothing more than, "Grandpa Wang, you can decide."
Ahri nodded in agreement.
Upon hearing this, Grandpa Wang led the oxcart to the kitchen to find someone.
When Grandpa Wang returned, everything on the oxcart was gone.
Grandpa Wang said, "The boss is a straightforward man; he accepted all one hundred taels." After saying that, he handed a bag of silver to Yan Siming.
"I had the shopkeeper exchange some loose silver and copper coins. You should keep the silver notes safe."
Okay, I understand.
As Yan Siming spoke, he took out some silver and handed it to Grandpa Wang, while the rest was placed directly in Ali's hands.
Ah Li blinked, looking at the heavy silver coins that had suddenly appeared in her hand.
Grandpa Wang had originally intended to give the money to Yan Siming, but seeing Yan Siming pull this stunt was something he hadn't expected. He smiled and said, "Alright, alright, I'll take the money."
Ah Li, clutching a bag of silver, said to Yan Siming, "Why did you give me the money?"
"Keep it safe."
As Yan Siming spoke, he helped Ali onto the oxcart.
Ahri was a little flustered as she held the silver. "But this is too much. What if we run into bad guys later..."
"Won't."
Yan Siming suddenly spoke, then turned to look at Ah Li, whose face was full of worry, and said, "I will drive them away."
Ah Li was relieved and said, "I believe you, Yan Siming."
Grandpa Wang looked at the two of them with a smile and said, "Didn't you two say you were going to buy some things? Go ahead and buy them, I'll be waiting for you here."
"Yes, I want to go eat something delicious!" Ahri said, getting off the oxcart.
