After Ah Li returned home, she quickly washed her face and lay down.
Hearing the commotion, Yingniang and Granny Yun took lanterns and went to Ali's room, where they smelled a strong odor of alcohol.
Ahri was lying on the bed without even taking off her shoes.
Yingniang wanted to go over and help Ah Li take off her shoes, but Ah Li, with her eyes closed, said, "No need to rush, or I might accidentally hurt you later. You should go and rest."
Yingniang didn't understand, but she heard a moth flying towards the candlelight in the room, and then she heard a little noise.
Ahri lashed out with the whip wrapped around her hand in an instant, then quickly pulled it back.
The moth was struck by the whip and turned into dust in the blink of an eye.
Ah Li knew she was drunk, and at the slightest sound, she would immediately lash out with her whip.
Granny Yun tugged at Yingniang, and the two slowly retreated.
The next day, when the ghost arrived, Ah Li was still asleep, and Ying Niang and Granny Yun had not yet gone to the city lord's mansion.
Seeing that only Granny Yun and Yingniang were there, and that the two of them didn't seem to like him very much, Xi Gui placed the booklet in his hand on the stone table and said to Granny Yun and Yingniang, "Please give this booklet to Li Gui for me later. Thank you."
Yingniang didn't respond, so Granny Yun said, "It's no trouble, I'll give it to Master Li later."
The ghost chuckled twice and then left.
Before leaving, Xi Gui raised his hand and touched the corner of his mouth. If he hadn't wanted to avoid antagonizing Li Gui, he really would have wanted to fight back. No one dared to look at him with dislike.
Granny Yun took the booklet and looked at Yingniang, "Don't give these people a hard time. Those who can be by the side of the Ghost City Lord are all not to be trifled with."
Yingniang turned around and said, "I don't know why, but I just don't like this person. He even invited my benefactor out for drinks last night."
Ah Li opened the door at this moment, leaned against it, and said, "It's my own choice to drink. Whether he calls me or not, I'll still drink."
The original owner's courtyard also had a wine cellar, which contained a lot of wine.
Yingniang looked at Ali, lowered her head and said, "It was my fault for being so rude."
"Just remember that next time. Even though you're with the sick ghost, try not to make enemies with those people if you can avoid it."
At this moment, Granny Yun handed the booklet to Ah Li, saying, "This is what that person just brought over."
Ahri took it and looked at it, saying, "It's good."
When Granny Yun saw that Ah Li didn't hide from her and opened the booklet, she also saw the handsome man drawn on it.
"My benefactor, what do you need this booklet for?"
"Choosing a man."
Ahri pressed her forehead; she still wanted to have babies.
The men in this picture book are all good-looking; Xi Gui wasn't making things up.
Yingniang and Granny Yun were stunned. Their benefactor was going to choose a man?
Ah Li glanced at the time, then looked at Ying Niang and Granny Yun who were still standing in front of her, and said, "You should go to the City Lord's Mansion. Oh, right, Ying Niang, please bring some lotus seeds for the Sick Ghost later."
Yingniang and Granny Yun responded one after the other. Yingniang even took a bag of lotus seeds from Ali. The two of them still couldn't get over what Ali had just said.
Ah Li put down the picture book. She was quite satisfied with the people in the pictures, but she still wanted to meet them in person; they all had to be of good character.
Ali quickly washed up, but instead of wearing black, she put on a light-colored ruqun (a type of traditional Chinese dress), carried a vegetable basket, and went out. Her hair was styled into the look of a delicate young lady.
The original owner's appearance wasn't particularly stunning; she usually had a cold expression and seemed quite ordinary. But now, dressed in a traditional Chinese dress, she looked rather delicate and charming.
Ahri is dressed like this to meet the man in the picture book.
When they arrived at the destination, Ah Li stood under a willow tree, waiting for the person to come over.
At some point, Ouyang Hao appeared beside Ah Li. He looked Ah Li up and down; it was the first time he had ever seen Ah Li dressed like this.
Ah Li looked over and called out, "Lord of the City."
Ouyang Hao raised an eyebrow and said, "What a coincidence, what are you doing here?"
"Waiting for someone."
Ouyang Hao found a folding fan with the words "debonair and dashing" written on it from somewhere. He held it in front of him and fanned himself with it, saying, "Let me guess, who are you waiting for?"
Ouyang Hao looked ahead with a very serious expression. There were many pedestrians there, including several men whose faces he couldn't make out.
Ahri quietly walked to the side. She was out looking for a partner, so it was better to stay alone.
However, when Ouyang Hao saw Ah Li walk away, he followed suit, keeping a distance of two steps.
Ah Li turned to look at Ouyang Hao and asked, "What brings you here today, Lord City Lord?"
Ouyang Hao closed his folding fan and said, "I wanted to drink osmanthus wine, so I came to find you, and just then I saw you carrying a basket as you went out."
On his way here, Ouyang Hao encountered Yingniang and Granny Hua. The two of them looked very strange, and kept talking about booklets, men, and benefactors.
Ouyang Hao didn't ask any questions. He went directly to Ali's house and, coincidentally, saw Ali leaving the house.
At first glance, Ouyang Hao didn't recognize that the person was Li Gui.
It took a closer look to recognize her. Ouyang Hao was quite surprised, as this was the first time he had ever seen her dressed like this.
Ouyang Hao didn't call out, he just followed behind her.
When Ahri saw the people in the booklet suddenly heading to the other side instead of coming this way, she wanted to follow them.
As a result, when she left, Ouyang Hao followed her, and even stayed very close to her.
Ah Li stopped. It wouldn't do for this person to keep following her like this. She said, "You just said you wanted to drink osmanthus wine?"
"Um."
"Then I'll go back and get it."
