Empty, silent, dark, and soundless...
The clock struck midnight.
In a quiet campus, there was no one in sight or sound.
Inside the men's restroom on campus, a white figure leaned against the mirror. She looked at herself in the mirror, but there was no reflection of herself, only a few restroom doors that were ajar.
"Am I a ghost without a physical body or a shadow?"
The sound was extremely faint and ethereal, yet it still echoed throughout the toilet.
Ahri stared speechlessly at her reflection in the mirror, which didn't show her. Suddenly, she looked down at her feet, which were grayish-white with a hint of bluish-black, not yet touching the ground. Her black hair, falling to her feet, slowly covered her face. "Why? Manager, how cruel you are! What are you trying to do by putting me in this world?"
"Come out here! Stop hiding! What did I do to offend you?"
Ahri's figure flashed from inside the toilet to outside, then to the top floor, then to the classroom door, and finally to the balcony. She didn't need to walk at all; she could just float.
A pale hand reached out from the podium. "Is this someone who just arrived? Such strong resentment."
Ahri didn't know why she appeared in this world. She was originally thinking of going back to the system space to take a good look at how long it would take before she could create her own world. However, a blinding light flashed, and she found herself standing in the mirror.
It's not inside the wall, it's really in the mirror.
It has no physical form; it is merely a soul.
[Beep! The game is about to restart. All NPCs, please return to your positions and do not wander around!]
NPC?
Me?
Before Ahri could figure it out, the scenery in front of her changed, turning into strings of code, and she found herself standing in the mirror again.
Okay, okay, is this how you play it? I'm not a ghost, I'm just an NPC, just a string of data.
[The game has restarted. Players are urged to uncover the secrets of this school as soon as possible.]
Ahri turned her neck, making two clicking sounds, letting her black hair fall in front of her face, obscuring her features.
[Beep! Program code is being modified... Detecting...]
[The test has ended. No error codes were found... No further testing required. Over.]
The next second, Ahri floated out of the mirror again. She was free now, but being an NPC wasn't out of the question.
Ahri looked around thoughtfully, then returned to the mirror.
At this moment, the faucet in the men's restroom started dripping, drop by drop, as if someone hadn't turned it off properly, or as if it was broken. The water dripping out wasn't clear, but yellow, and then slowly turned black.
[Beep! Please remain silent. Even the slightest sound will trigger a monster.]
Can't make a sound, and there's a monster?
Ahri poked her head out of the mirror and suddenly burst into laughter, "Wahahahahahahaha!"
Immediately, the sound of chains dragging on the ground rang out, and a dark figure suddenly appeared at the entrance of the men's restroom. It had a chilling aura, sharp fangs, pointed claws, and a pair of blood-red eyes, making it look exactly like a standing lion dog.
Is this a monster?
Ahri floated up to the monster, but the monster suddenly ran away like the wind.
Huh? Monsters are afraid of me too?
Ahri's hair instantly grew longer and flew out, even wrapping around the monster's body.
The next second, Ahri grinned and lay down behind the monster, extending her blood-red nails to the monster's shoulder. She also stuck out her tongue and said to the monster, "Why are you running away, little cutie? Come and play, ahahahaha!"
The monster didn't make a sound; instead, it ran wildly, the chains dragging on the ground making a rapid noise, which attracted many more monsters.
As a result, they scattered again when they saw Ahri lying behind it.
Ahri could see clearly that every classroom in this school was lit up, with players and NPCs from this world present.
