Nan Yan watched the two of them walk past his house without stopping. He called out, "Su Li, it's time to go back for dinner."
Ahri stopped and turned around, her smile fading considerably. She said, "Did we get here so quickly?"
Nan Yan stood at the door and replied, "Yes, soon you'll be walking into someone else's house."
Su Aniu looked towards Nan Yan's direction and found the man quite strange. They had clearly met him, yet he had followed them for so long.
He waited until they had passed by before he called out.
Nan Yan also looked at Su Aniu and asked, "I wonder who this is?"
“He is my friend. We just happened to run into each other, and he brought me back specifically for that purpose.”
Ali then said to Su Aniu, "Brother Aniu, let's go inside and have a drink of water together."
Su Aniu raised his hand and patted Ali's head, pretending to be intimate, and said, "Next time, my mother is waiting for me to go back. You also need to take good care of yourself."
"Yes, Brother Aniu, don't worry."
Ahri smiled, and her smile was very sweet.
Nan Yan had a blank expression, and it was impossible to tell whether he had any emotional changes.
Anyway, Su Aniu wouldn't be able to tell.
He withdrew his hand, walked up to Nan Yan, and said to Nan Yan, "Brother, I am Su A Niu from Su Family Village. Thank you for taking in Su Li these past few days. If you need anything in the future, just come to Su Family Village to find me."
When Su Li heard Su Aniu speak to Nan Yan like an older brother, she stood behind Su Aniu with a touched expression. This man was truly good to her.
Nan Yan said expressionlessly, "It was nothing, no need to thank me."
Su Aniu realized that Nan Yan hadn't told him his name, so he turned back to Ali and said, "Su Li, I'll be going now."
"Um."
Ahri took two steps forward, holding the stick.
After Su Aniu left, Nan Yan's chest heaved twice, but he held back his emotions.
Unable to hold back, he said to Ahri, "Everyone's gone far away, and you can't see them anymore. How long are you going to stand there?"
"None of your business."
Ah Li whispered as she walked past Nan Yan, a wooden stick in her hand.
Nan Yan said, "I'm not angry, I'm not angry. He's just blind."
He followed behind Ahri, and after watching him go into the kitchen, he called out to him, "Come in and get me some food."
Nan Yan said irritably, "Does everyone else have a name like Brother A Niu, but I don't have a name or surname?"
Ah Li slowly sat down, touching the table with her hand. She said, "Then should I call you Brother Yan, or Ah Yan?"
Nan Yan thought it wasn't a bad idea.
Suddenly, Ahri started laughing and said, "No way, that's so cheesy."
"Where is it cheesy?"
Nan Yan brought Ali a bowl of rice and sat down in front of her, wanting her to explain herself.
She looks much better when she smiles than when she cries.
Ahri's smile was still on her lips as she said, "Because we're not familiar with each other."
Nan Yan put a piece of pickled bamboo shoot in Ali's bowl and said, "Yes, it's not cooked. Eat your food and go to sleep early. I'll take you to town to see an eye doctor tomorrow."
Ahri touched the chopsticks on the table and said, "Okay."
When Ali ate the pickled bamboo shoots in his bowl, Nan Yan gripped his chopsticks tightly.
At this moment, Ah Li said in surprise, "Oh, this is pickled bamboo shoots. The sourness is just right, perfect for whetting the appetite. Do you have any more?"
Nan Yan pushed half a bowl of pickled bamboo shoots over and said, "There's more, you can have it all."
Ali tapped the bowl with his chopsticks and said, "Then give me two more. I can't see and I can't pick them up."
"Then why don't you call me Brother Yan?"
Nan Yan grumbled irritably, but still helped Ah Li pickle bamboo shoots.
Ah Li smiled, her voice sweet, and said, "Thank you, Brother Yan. You've worked hard today."
Upon hearing this, Nan Yan slowly placed his hand on his heart, where his heart suddenly began to beat very fast.
Ali pretended not to notice Nan Yan's thoughtful expression and continued eating.
After finishing the meal, she said, "Brother Yan, you'll have to do the dishes again."
Nan Yan stood up, obediently tidied up the dishes and went to wash them.
"Brother Yan, could you please boil some water for me later? I want to take a shower."
"Taking a bath? Is that something you can talk about with an outsider like me?"
Nan Yan said that, but he still started boiling water.
"Brother Yan, can I borrow your clothes later? I don't know where I put mine."
When the original owner was kicked out of the house, he didn't have many clothes.
Her sister-in-law kept all the good clothes, saying they could be altered later for her child to wear.
Nan Yan was taken aback. He said, "My clothes are too big for you."
"Then, Brother Yan, could you help me find some clothes?"
"good."
Nan Yan entered Ali's room and didn't even need to search. He found a small bundle in the corner at a glance.
When he opened it, there were no clothes inside, just a few rags.
After he went outside, he found Ahri still standing at the door waiting for him to get his clothes. He turned around, went into his room, took out two pieces of clothing, and said, "Found them."
"Thank you, Brother Yan."
Ah Li took the clothes from Nan Yan's hands, and she found that she was getting used to calling out to him.
Seeing that the water was hot, Nan Yan added cold water to test the temperature, and then called Ali to come in and wash.
There was a small cubicle in the kitchen, where a large wooden tub for bathing was placed.
Ahri noticed the clothes on a stool to the side. She slowly untied her belt and took off her clothes.
A pair of straight, fair feet stepped into the large wooden tub, followed by a smooth, jade-like back.
When the sound of water was heard, Nan Yan quickly covered his eyes and turned away. He... didn't mean to look.
He just wanted to come in and ask if she needed any help. He was carrying a jar of rice water and some soap pods, all for her to use.
Nan Yan also noticed something warm in his nose. He raised his hand to wipe it, and he realized he was bleeding from his nose.
Ahri was wiping herself with a handkerchief, raising her eyebrows slightly, feigning seriousness. She had clearly appeared while Ahri was taking off her clothes and was still staring blankly.
Ahri looked down at her own figure. "Not bad, I'm quite well-endowed."
Ah Li called out, "Brother Yan, are you there?"
Nan Yan was tilting his head back to stop his nose from bleeding when he heard Ah Li call him. He quickly replied, "Yes, I'm outside."
Ahri said, "The water is a bit cold."
Nan Yan took some tissue paper and stuffed it into her nose. "Then wait here, I'll bring you some more hot water."
Ah Li smiled silently. This person has really changed a lot. She thought he would say something like, "Get up early if the water gets cold."
Nan Yan brought water to Ali with his back turned, saying, "Don't worry, I won't watch. I'll leave as soon as I pour the hot water."
"Um."
Ahri crouched down in the water, with only her head sticking out.
Nan Yan said he wouldn't look and he really wouldn't. He poured hot water and was about to leave.
The next second, Ahri said comfortably, "Brother Yan, you're so nice."
Fairy.
Nan Yan's steps faltered. He turned to look at her. She looked relaxed, carefree, and very comfortable.
She had no idea how much her words had affected him.
