Chapter 300: A Bountiful Harvest

Chapter 300: A Bountiful Harvest

Lan Su frowned.

She has witnessed the majesty of the Tianshan Mountains and the perilous beauty of the Changbai Mountains, and has climbed countless famous mountains and rivers.

This is the first time I've seen someone call such a mound a mountain.

Daiyu was also greatly disappointed. Although she had not seen many towering mountains, she knew that this place, which could barely be called a mountain, was too simple and there was probably no surprise inside.

However, influenced by Yuan Hongqu, Daiyu also had a unique and multifaceted perspective on things; she laughed heartily.

"Since we're already here, why not go up the mountain and take a look? A mountain is not famous for its height, but for the immortals who dwell there. Maybe there are immortals in this mountain too! Let's go and pay our respects to them."

"Yes, it's rare to see such a small hill, it would be good to go up and see it."

Although Lan Su was not very interested, seeing that Daiyu was quite interested in the small hill, she also chimed in.

The hill was neither high nor steep, and they could easily urge their horses up, thus avoiding the hardship of walking.

A group of guards followed silently behind.

This small hill is unremarkable, with not even a single large tree, just some withered grass and shrubs, and it seems that not many people usually come up here.

Once the two reached the mountaintop, their view suddenly opened up.

Looking out, there are vast stretches of continuous forest at the foot of the hill, stretching as far as the eye can see.

The hill acts like a natural barrier, blocking all of this out completely.

They were as surprised as they had been by the mountain before.

The mountains rise and fall on this side, and occasionally the sounds of birds and animals can be heard from the forest.

Everyone was shocked by the sight before them and was speechless for a moment.

Daiyu glanced at Lansu, then looked at the scene before her, somewhat incredulous.

"When you think you've reached the end of the road, a new path opens up before you. Lan Su, we're so lucky!" Daiyu exclaimed.

“Girl, there’s a herd of roe deer over there, and a herd of wild goats over there…” Before Lan Su could finish speaking, the restless gene in her blood could no longer be contained. She leaped off her horse and jumped into the woods with a few bounds.

Daiyu wanted to call her, but was afraid of disturbing the prey in the woods.

“Let’s go take a look too. We’re not hunting, we’ll just look around from the outside. You can help Lan Su carry the game later.” Daiyu said as she dismounted, and the guards who were following her quickly took the reins and tied them to the rocks next to them.

The remaining guards dismounted and followed Daiyu into the woods.

With Lan Su's abilities, those prey were more docile than domesticated animals in her eyes, and she never missed a single one!

Although she was accompanied by guards, Daiyu did not let her guard down, and searched the outer edge of the woods for any wild fruits or similar items.

She did find a kiwi tree, and the kiwis hanging on the tree were not very big, but they were already ripe.

Daiyu picked a kiwi, gently broke it open, and smelled a sweet and sour aroma.

Wild kiwis may not be as sweet, but on such a hot day, eating something sour can help cool you down.

Daiyu took a bite of the fruit and was surprised to find that it was only slightly sour, with the sweetness completely suppressing the sourness.

After eating a kiwi, Daiyu felt all the fatigue from her journey vanish. She threw the peel by the tree and gestured for the guards to come and pick more kiwis.

The guards arrived prepared, bringing all the necessary tools and equipment, just in case the princess had any sudden whims.

"Find some larger leaves and dry grass to put at the bottom of the basket. This fruit is almost ripe, and it will spoil if the bottom of the basket is too hard." Daiyu was directing the guards to pick kiwis when she saw Lan Su walking out from the depths of the woods with a smile.

She carried a roe deer in one hand and a dark brown wild goat in the other.

"Sister Susu, you're amazing!" Daiyu started clapping for Lansu as soon as she saw her from afar.

Lan Su smiled smugly, "I haven't done it in a long time, so I've gotten rusty. Luckily, they didn't escape. Otherwise, I would have been too ashamed to face you, young lady."

"Don't give me that, I know your abilities, yet you try to show off to me!" Daiyu teased Lan Su with a smile.

"Oh my, young lady, your tone of voice is becoming more and more like Mr. Yuan's. How about we start calling you Mr. Lin from now on?" Lan Su retorted sharply.

The two looked at each other and burst into laughter. Lan Su, still laughing, put down what she was holding and then said...

“Girl, this is the only meat available at this time of year, and it's not difficult to prepare. I also found a group of wild boars, but they were too filthy, so I'll let them live.”

Lan Su pointed out the route she had taken to get here to the guard.

“Send a few people to bring all that stuff back, along with ropes, and it would be best to make a simple sled,” Lan Su said very seriously.

The guards nodded in agreement, took ropes, and cut some thick branches along the way, tying them together to make a makeshift sled.

Upon closer inspection, they almost took a step back.

Is this what you call "that little thing"?

This pile of deer had almost no major wounds, and they were neatly stacked together. Lan Su, with a rather wicked sense of humor, even arranged them in a pagoda shape.

The other wild goat, which was no smaller than the roe deer, was also arranged in a pagoda shape.

The guards exchanged bewildered glances. Lan Su had only been inside for a quarter of an hour, and both groups of prey had died without making a sound.

Lan Su's skills once again surprised them.

The guards looked at the small sleds in their hands and thought that this thing probably wouldn't be enough.

So the group immediately cut down more trees and built a sled.

When they finally managed to carry the two piles of prey to the top of the mountain, they found that Daiyu and Lansu were already waiting for them there.

Beside them were not only a large basket of kiwis, but also a small basket of dark blue berries. They looked very precious, as the girl's eyes never left them.

"Lan Su, when we go down the mountain later, have Granny send someone to deliver these blueberries to the Rongguo Mansion so my grandmother can have a taste." Daiyu was used to the large blueberries in her spatial dimension, so she didn't think much of these small blueberries, which were no bigger than her fingertip.

"Blueberries are good for the eyes. My grandmother's presbyopia seems to have worsened. Let's give her some."

"Miss, aren't you leaving any for him?" Lan Su wasn't particularly interested in the small fruit, but she remembered that Mr. Yuan loved blueberries. Shouldn't you leave some for him too?

"No need, Granny doesn't eat this," Daiyu said casually, urging the guard who was delivering the blueberries to hurry back.

There were so many large fruits in the original Red Lotus Space that she couldn't possibly eat them all, so why would she care about their appearance?

But no, Daiyu was reluctant to give the best things to her maternal grandmother. It was because her teacher had said that these things looked delicate and were not suitable for long-distance transportation, and it would be too troublesome to take them out rashly.

It's not too late to bring them out after all the crops on their estate have ripened.

After the guards who delivered the blueberries left, Daiyu noticed the five sleds of prey they had brought back.

Besides roe deer and wild goats, there was also a whole bunch of fat rabbits.
