"What's wrong with you?" Wu Jia asked him nervously.
"It's okay." Chen Qinglan said coldly.
Wu Jia hesitated for a moment and said, "Let's cut the cake."
Chen Qinglan said without any expression, "You cut it."
Wu Jia said, "Huh?" "But it's your birthday, so it would be better if you were the one to cut it."
Chen Qinglan turned his head to look at Yu Rou. Yu Rou and Xia Zhiyang were ordering food. He could only see Yu Rou's profile. She tilted her head slightly to talk to the waiter, her lips slightly open, and her lips were painted with maple red lipstick, which made her look delicate and charming.
Chen Qinglan found that Xia Zhiyang was looking at Yu Rou. Although his eyes were clear and pure, Chen Qinglan still felt a tightness in her chest.
After realizing that his possessiveness towards Yu Rou was so strong, Chen Qinglan became more and more upset.
When he saw Wu Jia in front of him, he suddenly felt that it was a mistake for him to come to dinner with her. It was stupid to want to use her to anger Yu Rou.
He felt a little regretful, but things had already come to this. He wanted to leave, but Yu Rou and Xia Zhiyang were still here, and he wanted to watch them.
"Aren't you going to eat the cake?" Wu Jia asked in confusion after seeing him cut the cake and put it aside without touching it.
"I'm full." Chen Qinglan said lightly.
"But you should at least eat some birthday cake," Wu Jia said with a smile.
Chen Qinglan felt Wu Jia was being noisy, and he couldn't help but frown. "I'm not eating anymore. Are you full?"
Wu Jia paused. She was eating cake with a fork in her hand. When she heard Chen Qinglan's words, she put down her fork and said, "Yeah, I'm full."
Chen Qinglan stood up and said, "Let's go."
"What's wrong?" Wu Jia's face turned pale.
"I suddenly remembered that I have something to go back for."
Wu Jia was about to say something but stopped herself because Chen Qinglan had already called the waiter to pay the bill.
Yu Rou remained calm when she saw Chen Qinglan and Wu Jia leave.
Xia Zhiyang's mind was not on eating, but having a meal with a woman like Yu Rou was indeed a pleasure. At least she was pleasing to the eyes, so the meal was not uncomfortable.
After dinner, Xia Zhiyang sent Yu Rou home. Chen Qinglan was still guarding the door, just like that day.
But Yu Rou didn't even look at him and opened the door.
"Sister." Chen Qinglan reached out and pulled her sleeve.
"Let go." Yu Rou said coldly.
"I……"
Yu Rou pushed him away, walked in and slammed the door.
Chen Qinglan was almost hit in the face by the door. He stood there motionless, the veins on the back of his hand bulging, and there was a dark current in his eyes.
His eyes suddenly became aggrieved, and the next second, the door opened from the inside.
Yu Rou handed him a paper bag without saying a word.
Chen Qinglan reached out to take it in confusion, and Yu Rou closed the door again.
Chen Qinglan was stunned for a moment, then opened the paper bag and took a look. Inside was a beautifully packaged box.
His eyes widened in surprise.
Is this a birthday present for him?
He thought Yu Rou hadn't prepared anything, and never expected to receive a gift from her.
Chen Qinglan's heart was beating so fast that he couldn't help but curl up the corners of his mouth. Yu Rou really still cared about him, so there was still hope for his plan to succeed.
He was completely immersed in his own thoughts and did not realize that his heart had deviated from his original intention.
Chen Qinglan opened the gift box, and inside was a beautiful watch. From the brand, one could tell that the watch was not cheap. Chen Qinglan couldn't contain her joy, and picked it up and put it on her wrist to test it.
He took a deep breath, put his watch back into the paper bag, and then raised his hand to press the doorbell.
The doorbell rang, but no one came to open the door.
Chen Qinglan frowned. He knew that Yu Rou did it on purpose. It was Yu Rou who stood him up, but he did a stupid thing and sent the photo of him and Wu Jia having dinner to Yu Rou. Now he had no right to be angry. Moreover, Yu Rou had just given him a gift. Now, it seemed that the fault was all on him.
Chen Qinglan sighed, knowing that he had taken a wrong step in a moment of impulse and would suffer the consequences of his own actions.
He pressed the doorbell again, but there was still no response. He stood there for a while, took out his cell phone and called Yu Rou. No one answered the first few calls, and it was only when he called the sixth that someone answered.
"Sister." Chen Qinglan saw that the call was connected and called out quickly.
Yu Rou was silent on the other end of the phone.
Chen Qinglan continued: "Sister, I was wrong."
Yu Rou sneered and said nothing.
"Sister, can you open the door?"
"Are you done?" Yu Rou's tone was indifferent.
Chen Qinglan: "No, sister, please open the door."
Yu Rou sneered: "How do you ask?"
Chen Qinglan: "I can do anything you ask me to do. Can you please forgive me?"
As soon as he finished speaking, the phone was hung up.
Chen Qinglan was stunned for a moment and scratched his hair in annoyance.
The door suddenly opened, and he saw Yu Rou standing in front of him. She looked at him coldly, then turned and walked inside.
Chen Qinglan hurriedly followed him in, and just as he closed the door, he heard a scolding.
"Kneel down."
Chen Qinglan's face turned pale and he looked back at Yu Rou in surprise.
"elder sister……"
"Who is your sister?" Yu Rou stared into his eyes coldly.
Chen Qinglan's heart tightened, and she reached out to grab Yu Rou's hand, "Sister, I was wrong."
Yu Rou's face was gloomy, and she spoke word by word, "Call me Master."
There was a flash of surprise in Chen Qinglan's eyes, but Yu Rou's gaze was like an icy blade, and he had nowhere to escape. Facing such a Yu Rou, he actually felt a sense of submission.
