Chapter 59 The Prince's Long Journey to Chasing His Wife 10

Yu Rou smiled and shook her head, "No need for that."

Princess Hening thought for a moment and said, "I heard that you angered the Crown Prince last time. Is that true?"

Yu Rou hesitated for a moment, "Who did you hear that from, Princess?"

Princess He Ning pursed her lips. "That's not important. Many people say it. Is it true?"

"Well, I guess so." Yu Rou thought of the prince's expression that day. She must have offended him, but it was not her fault. It was indeed the prince who misunderstood.

Princess Hening said thoughtfully, "No wonder. I've noticed that the Crown Prince seems to be in a bad mood these past two days, so I asked Mother to invite you here. How about I take you to see the Crown Prince?"

"What do you want to do with him?" Yu Rou asked.

"Explain it clearly." Princess Hening said in a matter-of-fact tone.

Yu Rou looked at Princess Hening with a puzzled expression, but did not speak.

Princess Hening said, "I think you're a good enough person to be my sister-in-law, so I want to help you. Why, don't you believe me?"

Yu Rou said: "No, I just didn't expect it."

"Well...that's normal. I used to dislike you, but at the last palace banquet, I realized I misunderstood you, so I decided to help you."

Princess Hening is very free and easy, and her unrestrained personality makes Yu Rou feel a bit favorable towards her.

"Thank you for your kindness, Princess." Yu Rou bowed and said sincerely.

Seeing her like this, Princess He Ning felt a little embarrassed, "Let's talk about it after I can help you."

"I am very grateful that the princess is willing to help." Yu Rou said softly.

Princess Hening was obviously pleased by her words. She looked at her with a more friendly look and pulled her aside, saying, "I heard that you didn't like reading before. Are you studying hard now for the sake of the Crown Prince?"

Yu Rou was stunned for a moment and thought to herself, the princess had given her a good reason. If someone asked her in the future, she could indeed say that.

So she lowered her head in shame, looking as if she was too embarrassed to accept the reward.

"What's wrong? Was I right?" The princess was very happy.

"Princess, could you please not tell His Royal Highness the Crown Prince?" Yu Rou lowered her eyes and said hesitantly.

"What's wrong? Don't you want him to know?" Princess He Ning blinked blankly.

"Yeah." Yu Rou nodded, "I...I don't want him to know."

Princess He Ning showed a puzzled expression at first, then suddenly realized and said loudly: "Oh! I see, you don't want the Crown Prince to know that you feel you are not worthy of him, so you want to work hard in silence."

Yu Rou still lowered her head, and it was actually a bit difficult to hold back her laughter.

These two siblings are really biological children.

Seeing her embarrassed look, Princess He Ning stopped teasing her and assured her, "Don't worry, I won't tell him."

As she spoke, she kicked a stone on the ground. The stone flew to the rockery and hit it, making a small sound.

"I've rested enough. Let's go fly a kite." Princess Hening took the initiative to hold her hand tightly.

Yu Rou was dragged away by her and inadvertently glanced at the narrow path on the right side of the rockery.

After returning from the palace, Wang came to ask her what happened in the palace. She told her the truth. Wang was obviously relieved and showed an expression of "as expected".

Yu Rou knew what she was thinking and asked something else, "Mom, have you sent the housekeeper to find Mr. Guhe? Did Mr. Guhe say when he would move in?"

Speaking of this, Wang said seriously, "He said he would move in a few days after he finishes some personal matters."

"Where do you plan to let Mr. live?"

Wang said, "I had a courtyard built for him, a wing in the outer courtyard, so he could live with his servant. I also arranged for two servants to look after them." She paused, then added, "I've discussed this with your father. Since you and your two brothers want to study, we can't forget the children from the second and third wives."

Yu Rou nodded and said, "Then send someone to ask the second and third houses first to see if they want to go to school together. They will all be taught the same way anyway."

Wang said, "That's what I thought. The amount of tuition varies depending on the number of students. I've inquired, and if there are fewer than six students, they only get three dan of brown rice per month. If there are eight, they get forty, and if there are ten, they get five dan. There are quite a few children in your family, and we have three in our room. The second and third rooms add up to more than ten children. So, we only give the teacher ten dan of brown rice per month, plus fifty taels of silver. We'll cover all other daily expenses."

Yu Rou asked, "What did Dad say?"

"Your father naturally follows my instructions. He never cares about these things. He just tells me not to favor one over the other and to bring the second and third wives along." Wang said helplessly.

Yu Rou thought it was a good idea. Mr. Guhe was not someone who cared about these mundane things. "That's fine, but I'll provide you with the best tea and study supplies."

As the mother and daughter were talking, Haitang walked in from outside and stood aside with a strange look in her eyes. She looked at Wang, as if she didn't know how to start the conversation. Fortunately, Wang didn't notice.

Yu Rou's mind moved. She raised her hand and rubbed her eyes, saying, "Mom, I'm a little tired and want to rest for a while. I accompanied the princess to fly kites in the palace today and ran around for half a day."

"Then you should rest quickly. Mother is going back." Wang did not doubt him. She touched Yu Rou's face with heartache, stood up and prepared to leave.

"Well, I'll see my mother off."

"No need." Wang walked out nonchalantly.

After Wang walked away, Yu Rou glanced at Haitang and said, "Tell me, what's wrong?"
