Chapter 149 New Year's Eve

After returning from the county, there were only two days left until the Chinese New Year.

Lu Xia was an orphan before, and after traveling through time, she met a family like that, so she didn’t have any feelings about the Chinese New Year.

But Jiang Junmo is different. He attaches great importance to the Chinese New Year. He has been busy preparing things for the New Year these two days, which makes her look forward to the Chinese New Year.

What's more, strictly speaking, this is her first home, and she suddenly wants to live a good life.

On New Year's Eve, the people at the educated youth site invited them to celebrate there together.

However, they refused on the grounds that the new house needed to be left unattended for the first year.

The two of them still enjoyed their time alone, not to mention that Jiang Junmo had prepared a lot of delicious food these days, and they planned to have a big meal secretly.

That morning, the two of them cleaned the house first, and then put up couplets and other things. The house finally had the atmosphere of the New Year.

At noon, Jiang Junmo prepared three dishes and a soup, including vegetables and meat, which was much more sumptuous than usual.

After dinner, the two took a nap, then went to the educated youth site to sit for a while, and then came back to prepare dinner.

...

...

Although lunch was already very sumptuous, they obviously attached more importance to the New Year’s Eve dinner.

Jiang Junmo spent more than an hour stewing the two chickens he had bought earlier. He didn't just stew one chicken, he also put a lot of potatoes in it. After stewing, he served it in a large pot.

Lu Xia took out a small half and put it on a plate, and left the rest in the basin and covered it.

Then he said to Jiang Junmo: "Give these to the brothers later. It's New Year, let them have something good to eat."

Jiang Junmo had guessed it when he heard her ask him to put more potatoes in the mixture to make more.

"Okay, I'll go there in a minute."

Lu Xia looked outside and said, "It's getting dark. Be careful when you go there and don't let anyone see you."

"good."

Jiang Junmo then left with the bowl of chicken. Lu Xia did not go with him because the food was not ready yet and she had to continue cooking the New Year's Eve dinner at home.

In fact, two people couldn't eat much. At noon, Jiang Junmo made braised pork, which tasted good. In the evening, in addition to chicken, Lu Xia made braised spare ribs, stir-fried bacon and cabbage, and mushroom soup.

After it was done and served on the table, Jiang Junmo came back.

When Lu Xia saw that he came back empty-handed, he knew that the meat had been given away.

"How are they, brothers? Are they all right?"

Jiang Junmo nodded with a smile on his face, obviously in a good mood.

"They also prepared a lot of things. Everyone in the cowshed celebrated the New Year together. When I went there, they were having dinner. I gave them the chicken and everyone was very happy. I sent them a big bowl, which was enough for them to share."

Lu Xia nodded, "That's good."

Then the two of them started their New Year’s Eve dinner.

Because there was no electricity or television, it was very difficult for the two of them to eat in the dark with candles. But luckily they had to stay up all night to celebrate the New Year, so they were not in a hurry and ate slowly.

But it was a bit boring to just eat and wait, so Lu Xia and the others started chatting.

After spending some time together, the two had a deeper understanding of each other, especially Lu Xia's impression of Jiang Junmo had changed dramatically.

Before, she thought Jiang Junmo was a quiet person who was somewhat disgusted with life. After all, he seemed to be uninterested in anything.

But after getting along with him, I found that, in fact, it was just the opposite. Not only was he not disgusted with life, but he loved life very much.

The fact that he was able to learn so many life skills shows that he really wants to live a good and meaningful life, but his body just didn't allow it before.

So Lu Xia was very fortunate and happy that he could recover his health.

After all, it would be a pity if Jiang Junmo, such a good person, no longer existed.
